US Demands Oversight of Pakistan’s Defence & Intelligence Budgets

The United States has pointed out shortcomings in Pakistan’s fiscal transparency, especially concerning military and intelligence expenditures, in its 2025 Fiscal Transparency Report. The report acknowledged that Pakistan made its enacted budget and year-end report publicly available, but noted that "the military and intelligence budgets lacked sufficient parliamentary or civilian oversight."
