US debt ceiling talks continue with new 5 June deadline

The projected debt ceiling deadline has been extended to June 5, 2023, four days later than previously estimated, US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said Friday. Yet, Yellen renewed her warning in a letter to Congress that inaction on raising the borrowing limit would ‘cause severe hardship.’
