TikTok hit with $15.9 million fine in UK: Global crackdown on Chinese app

Britain's data watchdog has fired TikTok $15.9 million for breaching data protection laws including using the personal data of children aged under 13 years without parental consent. The Information Commissioner's Office estimated that TikTok allowed as many as 1.4 million UK children under 13 to use its platform in 2020.
