Tibetans in exile on hunger strike, oppose China's ethnic unity law

Tibetans in exile are mounting a global protest against China's newly enforced "Ethnic Unity and Progress Law," which they say is designed to erase Tibetan identity and force cultural assimilation. Organized by the Tibetan Youth Congress, a 49-day chain hunger strike is underway in Dharamshala, with parallel marches and hunger strikes held in Himachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, and cities worldwide.
