India successfully evacuated 75 of its citizens from Syria, including 44 pilgrims from Jammu and Kashmir. The pilgrims had travelled to the Sayyidah Zaynab shrine near the capital Damascus. The shrine holds immense religious significance for the Shiite Muslim community across the world.
