For 40 years, roboticists chased a dream: a machine that could play table tennis against a real human and win. Now Sony AI's Project Ace did exactly that. Under International Table Tennis Federation rules, with licensed umpires and elite human opponents, Ace won. Multiple times. And it kept improving.
That's not all a Humanoid robot made by a Chinese company broke the human world record with a timing of 50 minutes 26 seconds in a race alongside amateur runners in Beijing.
