Sri Lanka's fuel prices cross record in history; Lankan rupees depreciates 30% in 2 days

The country woke up to an unprecedented oil price hike pushing the country into a deeper economic crisis; the Lanka IOC unit in Sri Lanka has now increased oil prices of petrol and diesel by 50 Lankan rupees and 75 Sri Lankan rupees respectively from Thursday. For the first time in history, a liter of petrol cost 250 Sri Lankan rupees while a liter of diesel has touched 200 Sri Lankan rupees.
