Sri Lanka is facing a sharp rise in dengue infections, with reported cases surpassing 54,000 nationwide. Health authorities have linked the surge to conditions created by the November 2025 cyclone, which triggered floods, landslides, and left behind debris that became ideal mosquito breeding grounds. June alone recorded more than 20,000 cases, marking a dramatic increase from the previous month.
