U.S. journalist Evan Gershkovich’s hopes were in vain for a civilized approach to his spying case from Russian authorities when he appealed to be freed from pre-trial detention. A Moscow court rejected his plea on Tuesday, which means he will stay in a former KGB prison until at least May 29 while the case against him is investigated.
