India faces a substantial setback to its exports. Threats to cargo vessels in the Red Sea have triggered a surge in shipping rates, prompting exporters to hold back on shipments. According to an initial assessment by the research and information system for developing countries, around $30 billion could be shaved off India's total exports in the current fiscal year, representing a 6.7% drop based on the previous year's $451 billion total.
