Rahul Gandhi writes to Amit Shah, demands accountability for police action on protesters

Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, has written to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, seeking accountability for the “barbaric assault on students who were peacefully protesting in Delhi” on July 20, 2026. Mr. Gandhi asked Mr. Shah whether the latter had authorised the use of “lethal force”.
