Nagasaki Marks 79th Anniversary of Atomic Bombing | Gravitas Recall
#Gravitas | Japan is commemorating the 79th anniversary of the atomic bombings of Nagasaki. Three days after the Hiroshima attack, the United States dropped a second atomic bomb on Nagasaki on August 9, 1945, killing over 75,000 people immediately. Speaking on the occasion, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida noted how the international community is more deeply divided over nuclear proliferation and urged the world to let "Nagasaki be the last place to suffer an atomic bombing."
