Kerala leads with highest elderly population, starts new initiative
Kerala is getting older, and it’s the first to admit it. The state now has the highest share of elderly people in India and a median age of 31 years, the highest in the country. To tackle this, Kerala has launched a dedicated Elderly Welfare Department.
