Belgium forward Jeremy Doku is set to rejoin the national team at the FIFA World Cup after briefly leaving camp for the birth of his first child.
Doku had missed Belgium’s draw against Iran after recovering from illness before travelling to be with his wife during childbirth. His decision sparked unexpected debate during the tournament, including controversial on-air remarks that were later criticised and distanced by French media.
However, Belgium captain Youri Tielemans and teammates strongly backed Doku, highlighting the importance of family and unity within the squad ahead of their crucial match against New Zealand.
