Japan is sending its guided-missile destroyer JS Chokai to the US to be armed with Tomahawk cruise missiles, capable of striking targets up to 1,000 miles away. The move is part of Tokyo’s growing military posture in response to rising threats from China and North Korea. With 400 Tomahawks on order and growing regional tensions, Japan is entering a new phase of defence readiness.
