Top US and Iranian officials are due to meet to hold talks on a possible nuclear deal, while Iran's military chief threatened that "no American would be safe" if the US conducted strikes on Iran. Iran's Fars news says that the US aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln has retreated near Yemen, opening room for the pursuit of diplomacy in hopes of staving off military confrontation between Washington and Tehran. The report says that the arcraft carrier had "withdrawn" about 1,400 kilometers from the port city of Chabahar in Iran, and is now near the Gulf of Aden, east of Yemen’s Socotra Island. The Pentagon is yet to confirm or deny.
