Indigenous Maya 'Guardian of the Bees' wins environmental prize

Leydy Pech Martin, a 55-year-old Maya beekeeper, who has waged a legal battle against pesticides and genetically modified organisms (GMOs) in Mexico for more than 10 years won the Goldman Prize 2020 on Monday (November 30) in part for her ongoing struggle against U.S. agrochemical giant Monsanto.
