India's weather officials issue warning to locals ahead of cyclone Gaja

Residents and fishermen based in southern India's Tamil Nadu have issued a warning by India's Meteorological Department (IMD) as cyclonic storm Gaja barrels towards the region, expected to make landfall on Thursday. More and heavier rainfall is expected in Cuddalore, Nagai, Thiruvarur, Thanjavur, Pudukottai, Tuticorin and Ramanathapuram, the director of Chennai's Regional Meteorological Centre Balachandran said.
