India seeks applications for head of market regulator

India's government has invited applications for candidates for the position of chairperson of the Securities and Exchange Board of India. This is a clear signal that the current head of India's markets regulator, Madhabi Puri Buch, will be leaving her position in March after her three-year term ends. Although, buch could still apply for the position.
