India rejects calls to join Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP)

RCEP has been touted as a ray of hope in the asia pacific region. RCEP amounts to 30 per cent of world's GDP. It includes 15 Asia-Pacific nations. However India has often expressed concern that there are inadequate protection against surges in imports.
