Major Abhilasha Barak was awarded the prestigious 2025 UN Military Gender Advocate of the Year Award for her outstanding efforts in promoting gender-responsive peacekeeping in Lebanon. A trailblazer as the first woman combat helicopter pilot in the Indian Army, she was deployed with the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).
