Gravitas: China seethes as US lawmakers meet Dalai Lama, vow support for Tibetan autonomy

A bipartisan delegation of US lawmakers, including former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, met the Dalai Lama, in India. Reaffirming American support for Tibetan autonomy, the lawmakers warned China that the U.S. will not allow Beijing to influence the choice of his successor. The lawmakers comments are expected to anger China as it views the exiled Tibetan spiritual leader as a "separatist."
