China's Lineshine Wins Top Spot on Top 500 List; China Challenges America's Digital Empire

China has reclaimed the top spot in global supercomputing with the debut of LineShine, a massive system installed at the National Supercomputing Centre in Shenzhen. Announced at the 67th TOP500 list ceremony in Hamburg on June 23, 2026, the machine achieved a performance of 2.198 exaflops, officially dethroning the U.S.-based El Capitan.
