Chile voters reject new draft constitution

A 62% to 38% vote rejected the proposed constitution, which had been met with "intense criticism that it was too long, too left-wing, and too radical". Although many voters found it excessively divisive, it was regarded as one of the most progressive constitutions in the world, and controversy hampered the process.
