A 36-year-old American national, identified as Jordan Brown from California, was apprehended by the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) on July 11, 2026, near the Sonauli border in Uttar Pradesh while attempting to enter Nepal without a passport, visa, or valid travel documents. Brown, who claimed to be a former U.S. Navy and Special Forces member, was intercepted while trying to cross via an unauthorized foot trail.
