The tensions are reaching a tipping point in Pakistan's Balochistan province as people in the city of Quetta and other parts observed a shutdown strike on Saturday. The protest comes after a violent police crackdown on Friday during a demonstration by the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC). The BYC claims that three people were killed and 13 others injured during the clash, while the police said that 10 security personnel were wounded.
