Badlapur school case: Mobs demand suspect's street hanging; NHRC seeks report from authorities
Badlapur in Maharashtra's Thane district witnessed massive protests. Protests erupted over the alleged sexual assault of two four-year-old girls by a sweeper at a school. Protesters stormed railway stations and staged protests, disrupting local train services. The mob also demanded the accused to be hanged right in front of their eyes. The National Human Rights Commission has taken suo moto cognisance of the case.
