The year 2023 was officially declared the hottest by Scientists. Several parts of the world witnessed record heatwaves that persisted for weeks instead of days. High temperatures were registered from Death Valley in California to a township in northwest China that endured temperatures of more than 52°Celsius. Antarctica too registered temperatures as high as 8.7°Celsius during its winter season.
