Vivek Ramaswamy rapped to Eminem's Lose Yourself on Saturday to energize the audience at the Iowa State Fair. Ramaswamy, 38, concluded his fair-side interview with Kim Reynolds, the governor of Iowa, by dancing to the popular tune. He received encouragement from the audience and a high-five from Reynolds after his performance.

Republican president nomination seeker Vivek Ramaswamy has courted controversy after he suggested cancelling Juneteenth, calling it a 'useless' holiday.&nbsp;

Ramaswamy made the suggestion during a conversation with Iowa voters on Saturday (August 5). He suggested that instead of Juneetenth,&nbsp;a national voting holiday can be instituted.&nbsp;

“Cancel Juneteenth or one of the other useless ones we made up,” Ramaswamy told to a raucous reception from the crowd.&nbsp;

Asked by NBC News to clarify whether he thought Juneteenth was a “useless” holiday, Ramaswamy said, “I basically do". He also clarified that the holiday was instituted due to political reasons.&nbsp;

“The reason for making it a holiday was under political duress. It was a political hostage situation on the back of the death of George Floyd,” Ramaswamy said.&nbsp;

US: Presidential hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy bats for cancelling 'useless' Juneteenth holiday

Republican presidential nomination contender, Vivek Ramaswamy, has launched a one-of-its-kind fundraising programme called ‘Vivek Kitchen Cabinet’. The biotech entrepreneur announced his unique commission-based fundraising programme on Monday via his official Twitter profile.&nbsp;

In the tweet, the 37-year-old wrote that “starting today, anyone can fundraise for the Vivek 2023 campaign and make a 10 per cent&nbsp;commission”.&nbsp;

In Ramaswamy’s scheme, any of his supporters who help raise funds for his White House bid will earn 10 per cent of whatever amount they bring in. As per Ramaswamy, the initiative is a step towards democratising the ability to make money by casting the traditional system of campaign fundraising as an “oligopoly” of the managerial class.

As of the end of March, Ramaswamy had put $10.5 million of his own money into the campaign but said he is prepared to spend as much as $100 million on his bid. Yoho said that the average donation made to the campaign is $30.94 and that last week Ramaswamy passed the 60,000-donor mark, clearing the donor threshold required to qualify for the first debate.&nbsp;

Ramaswamy called his new fundraising concept a “revolution” and said that he was “stunned” to learn how much money is made in politics.&nbsp;

Professional fundraisers retain a huge percentage of the money raised for a candidate themselves. Bundlers, on the other hand, work their contacts to drive donations to the campaign, generally in exchange for special access to the candidate, perks and other favours.

Ramaswamy’s concept is an attempt to combine these two approaches on a much smaller scale.&nbsp;

What is 'Vivek Kitchen Cabinet'? Unusual commission-based fundraising concept introduced by Vivek Ramaswamy

After former US ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley, Vivek Ramaswamy is the second Indian-American to enter the Republican presidential primary contest. Vivek Ramaswamy, an Indian-American digital entrepreneur, declared on Wednesday (February 22, 2023) that he would run for president of the United States in 2024. Watch Ramaswamy in an exclusive conversation with WION.

'I'll be first millennial to run for the GOP nomination' says US Presidential candidate Ramaswamy

Vivek Ramaswamy, a candidate for Republican presidential nomination, while speaking with WION correspondent Susan Tehrani, said, “The United States needs to re-enter the trade relationships with the allied nations in the Indo-Pacific in order to put ourselves in a position to actually decouple from China.”

He added that if he gets the opportunity to become the next US president, he will focus on avoiding war with China over Taiwan while still deterring China from going after Taiwan.

“If China knows that India is on the US side and pro-Taiwan side respectively, that will erode Chinese President Xi Jinping's confidence in going after Taiwan. A strong India on the side of the US in a rock solid manner will hold China from winning the global semiconductor supply chain starting in Taiwan and will further erode Xi Jinping's confidence,” he said.

Speaking about the future of US-India relations, Ramaswamy hinted that the two democracies are destined to become natural allies. Calling capitalism as the best system in the world for lifting people up from poverty, he appreciated Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for embracing the power of capitalism unapologetically and lifting people from poverty.

<h2>Reviving 'American Dream'</h2>

Talking with WION correspondent Susan Tehrani about his journey and why he decided to get in the race of presidential elections, Ramaswamy said, “I was born in this country; have lived full arc of American Dream. My parents came to this country with almost no money and I went on to create multi-billion dollar biotech companies that have developed life-saving medicines; management firms competing with the largest financial institutions in the world. That's been my version of the American Dream. I don't think that dream is still possible for the next generation of Americans who are taught to think of themselves as a victim of their genetics. I think it'll take my generation of Americans to revive the American Dream.”

Speaking about his presidential candidature and how it is different from others, Ramaswamy said to WION, “People of my generation and younger, I think many of them don't see themselves as Republicans. Many Americans don't yet really know what they believe. They're stark hungry for a cause, purpose, meaning and identity. This is an opportunity to fill that void of purpose and meaning at the heart of young Americans, that is what I am trying to do in this campaign. I want us talking more about the value of each individual, the family, the nation, the God, the things that used to give us our sense of purpose.”

Speaking about how his candidacy differs from that of Ron Desantis who also rallies against woke ideology, Ramaswamy said, “We are fundamentally different. I think Ron Desantis's vision is to defeat wokeness in America by whacking it and nailing it into the ground; to me, that's not a win. To me winning is to dilute the poison of the woke agenda to irrelevance by offering an alternative vision; a vision that means to be an American today. To me the opposite of being woke is being pro merit &amp; pro-free speech.”

On not going after former US president Donald Trump, Ramaswamy stated, “As I mentioned earlier, I work on policy differences. That's not my style to shoot down other candidates. I am focused on where we are running as a country rather than criticising other candidates. My focus is on policy differences but that doesn't mean I don't respect the accomplishments of each of them including President Donald Trump as a president.”

US, allied nations should re-enter trade ties to decouple from China: Vivek Ramaswamy

Vivek Ramaswamy: I want to revive our nation's patriotism and pride

Vivek Ramaswamy, a GOP presidential candidate, pledged to pardon former president Donald&nbsp;Trump if elected and challenged his rivals to do the same.

Ramaswamy declared that if he is elected president, he will pardon Trump facing federal charges at a news conference held on Monday&nbsp;at the Wilkie D&nbsp;Ferguson Jr&nbsp;US&nbsp;Courthouse in Miami, Florida, reports Fox News.&nbsp;

A federal grand jury&nbsp;indicted Trump on 37 counts connected to his retaining top&nbsp;secret materials after leaving office.&nbsp;

"The use of police force by a sitting US president against his chief political rival in the midst of a presidential election sets a dangerous precedent in our country," Ramaswamy said in a press release.

"No one is above the law: the US president shouldn’t be able to use the federal police to arrest his opponents," he continued.

"No one should be below the law either, yet there are now two standards of justice depending on your political viewpoints.&nbsp;That’s the single greatest threat to our constitutional republic today,"&nbsp;Ramaswamy added.

Ramaswamy criticised the allegations against Trump in his letter and urged people to endorse his promise to pardon the previous leader if he were elected.

"Whoever among us is elected, our job of reuniting the nation will become daunting – if not impossible," Ramaswamy wrote.

Every campaigner, Republican and Democrat, opposing Biden for president received a copy of the letter.

US: Ramaswamy vows to pardon Trump if elected, dares opponents to commit same

Elon Musk has received a grand welcome in China. It is the Tesla CEO’s first trip to the country in over three years. The industrialist has vowed to expand his business in China. &nbsp;But, not everyone is happy with the promises Elon Musk has been making. Vivek Ramaswamy, the Republican leader and US presidential candidate has raised concerns over the billionaire’s trip to China.

In a video, Vivek Ramaswamy, who is of Indian origin, said that Elon Musk’s meeting with Qin Gang, China's foreign minister, was no small matter. The Republican candidate stated that the Tesla CEO’s statement referring to the United States and Communist China as "conjoined twins" was posted in the Asian country, but not in America.

“I’ve been one of the most vocal supporters of Elon Musk’s effort to transform Twitter, but it’s a real risk to the US&nbsp;when the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) turns our most prominent business leaders and celebrities - Tim Cook, Larry Fink, LeBron James, Elon Musk - into puppets to advance their agenda. That tilts the global scales of perception in China’s favour - and sadly, it’s working. The U.S. needs leaders who aren’t in China’s pocket, yet Biden is just another embodiment of that same problem,” Vivek Ramaswamy said.&nbsp;

<h2>Significance of Elon Musk’s China Trip</h2>

Elon Musk has often expressed his admiration for China. He had earlier suggested that Taiwan, a self-governed territory that China claims as part of its country, could be run as a “special administrative zone”. The billionaire’s Shanghai-based Gigafactory has also made headlines. Last year, the factory had contributed to about one-quarter of Shanghai's total automotive production value, as per a Reuters report. Local authorities have vowed to boost ties with Tesla, but some uncertainty regarding the Shanghai factory’s expansion plan remains. As per Reuters, there is no clarity on whether Tesla is facing any regulatory hurdles in its aim to broaden its production facilities.

Investors are also keen to see whether China will clear Tesla's advanced driver assistance features for release.

On Elon Musk's China trip, US presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy has this to say

Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy is making a bold move by embracing Bitcoin as a campaign donation and unveiling a proposal to loosen tax restrictions on Bitcoin mining in the United States.&nbsp;

Talking to CBS News, Ramaswamy expressed hope that the thriving Bitcoin ecosystem can empower him to achieve his goals as the potential US president.

"The thriving Bitcoin universe should actually better empower me to do what I want to do as the US president, which is to stabilise the US dollar as a unit of measurement and put the Federal Reserve back in its place with that as its single mandate," he said.

As per the CBS News report, Ramaswamy's new Bitcoin policy will be announced at the Bitcoin 2023 conference in Miami.

However, the Republican is not the first candidate to accept digital currency donations. Senator Rand Paul achieved the distinction way back in 2016. He also accepted the digital currency as donations to his White House campaign.&nbsp;

Others who have announced a bid for the White House, such as President Joe Biden, Senator Tim Scott, former UN Ambassador and South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, and former President Donald Trump are not currently accepting cryptocurrency contributions.

He said that by accepting Bitcoin,&nbsp;he wants to demonstrate the cryptocurrency's lack of threat.

"Right now, I'm more focused on policy. It also just gives people the choice to donate to the campaign in Bitcoin and signal that we're not threatened by it," he said.&nbsp;

One crucial aspect of Ramaswamy's proposal is advocating for the freedom to mine Bitcoin within the United States.&nbsp;

Bitcoin mining is an energy-intensive process, and the US has recently become the premier location for mining after China curtailed its mining activities to address energy consumption concerns.&nbsp;

However, the Biden administration has proposed a 30 per cent tax on the electricity used by cryptocurrency mining operations in its 2024 budget.&nbsp;Given the Republican control in the House, it is unlikely that such a tax would be passed.&nbsp;

Ramaswamy vehemently opposes this tax and considers it unfair and an abuse of federal power.&nbsp;

He argues that Bitcoin miners should not be treated differently from any other energy consumer.&nbsp;The entrepreneur, as per the report, said,&nbsp;"We'll put that into the rules and preserve the freedom to mine by rescinding and committing against any special taxes for the utilisation of energy for purposes of mining."

Although Bitcoin's value has soared over the past decade, it remains highly volatile due to market uncertainty and government regulations. Despite this volatility, Ramaswamy believes that cryptocurrencies can offer an alternative to individuals concerned about the strength of the US dollar.

Biden’s 2024 presidential bid is 'elder abuse' by 'managerial class': Republican candidate Vivek Ramaswamy

Raising questions over the GOPs "deafening" silence, presidential hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy is calling out for Republicans' support against&nbsp;Donald Trump's possible indictment in a probe by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

Indian-American Ramaswamy, on Saturday, called on Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley "to join him by 9 AM tomorrow (Sunday) in calling on Bragg to abandon the political persecution of the 45th president of the US".

"This is about principle, not a person. This is about our country, not one man. The silence from the rest of the GOP field is deafening," he said. "That is not the America I know. That is not America my parents came to. That is not the America our founding fathers set in motion 250 years ago. That is the stuff of a&nbsp;Banana Republic."&nbsp;&nbsp;

Ramaswamy&nbsp;said it is not about Trump being his competition in the race to become the next US president, but more about the integrity of the elections and the integrity of the self-governing democracy.

He asserted that it does not matter whether anyone roots for Trump or not, but must speak up if they are rooting for the constitutional republic.&nbsp;Ramaswamy said a politically empowered prosecutor cannot eliminate the opposition of the ruling party, Trump, by using arrest, and called it a sad and dark day in America.&nbsp;

US presidential hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy calls for GOP support against Trump’s likely indictment

Indian-American tech sector entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, who announced&nbsp;his 2024 US presidential bid last week, said that if he gets elected he would ban all those US companies that are doing business with China.

"I think it is important, to be honest. If we want to declare independence from China, that means we got to be willing to ban most US businesses from doing business in China until the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) falls or until the CCP radically reforms itself. Because there is no easy way out other than taking that band-aid and ripping it right off," he said during his address to the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).&nbsp;

CPAC is one of the most significant annual events for GOP leaders to lay the preliminary groundwork for potential presidential campaigns. CPAC is one of the most important yearly gatherings for GOP leaders to build the foundation for prospective presidential bids.&nbsp;

In addition, the 37-year-old Ramaswamy has floated ideas including dissolving the FBI and the US Department of Education.

"I have already said last week, the first agency we will shut down and need to shut down in the United States is the US Department of Education. It has no reason to exist. Never should have existed."

"And today, I am ready to announce the second government agency that I will shut down in this country we should have done this at least 60 years ago. It has hurt Republicans and Democrats alike. We are going to get it done as finally, it is time to shut down the FBI in America and create something new to take its place because we are done with the J Edgar Hoover legacy to let this be a self-governing nation again," he said.

The event was closed Saturday with Former US President Donald Trump's address to fellow Republicans. Indian-American tech sector entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, who announced his 2024 US presidential bid last week, said that if he gets elected he would ban all those US companies that are doing business with China. "I think it is important, to be honest. If we want to declare independence from China, that means we got to be willing to ban most US businesses from doing business in China until the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) falls or until the CCP radically reforms itself. Because there is no easy way out other than taking that band-aid and ripping it right off," he said during his address to the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC). We are going to get it done as finally, it is time to shut down the FBI in America and create something new to take its place because we are done with the J Edgar Hoover legacy to let this be a self-governing nation again," he said.
