US President Donald Trump&nbsp;has on Wednesday personally requested the authorities to put back a statue of a Confederate general that was toppled by the 'Black Lives Matter' protestors in Washington.

The news was announced by the local media reports, and not through Trump's office.

“The secretary has made his position quite clear when it comes to lawlessness, violence against police, and destruction of public property," an interior department spokesman told a local news channel.

Trump has also announced his plans of signing an executive order in the next few weeks to protect the federal monuments and punishing those who deface these statues.

Since the start of the protests, almost a month back, Trump has been against the idea of removing these statues or renaming the military bases to show solidarity with the African-American community.

Although he has not confirmed if all the troops, who are being redeployed, will be sent to Poland. Trump has sated that some of the troops might come back to their home country, some might go to Europe, but Poland will definitely be a priority.

The resident has also noted that the shift in troops will send a strong signal to Trump.

“A stronger signal sent to Russia is the fact that Germany is paying billions of dollars to purchase energy from Russia through the pipeline... You're giving billions of dollars to Russia, then we're supposed to defend you from Russia? So, I think it's very bad… I think the people of Germany are very unhappy about it,” he said.

However, after sending a "strong signal" to Russia, Trump expects to get along with Russia -- or as Trump said, "We expect to get along with everybody."

Former US National Security Adviser John Bolton has claimed in his new book that President Donald Trump personally asked Xi Jinping to help him win the 2020 presidential election.

In the book, 'The Room Where it Happened: A White House Memoir', Bolton writes that 'He (Trump) then, stunningly, turned the conversation to the coming US Presidential election, alluding to China’s economic capability to affect the ongoing campaigns, pleading with Xi to ensure he’d win'.

Trump's dealings with China go back to pre-white house years. In 2008 he signed a deal with the Chinese Evergrande Group. In 2012, Trump inked another deal with a Chinese Corporation. This time it was for developing a property in Beijing. In 2016, he reportedly wanted to build Trump hotels in 20 to 30 Chinese Cities. In 2017, Trump roped in 2 Chinese companies to construct a golf resort in Dubai.

These incidents prove that Trump's communication or dealing with China isn't new. In fact, reports claim the Bank of China supplied a large sum of money for Trump's real-estate deals.

Since Trump entered the White House, he has been pretty harsh on China. Experts say Trump has single-handedly changed the geopolitical tactics. From declaring a trade war on China and banning Huawei. To calling covid-19 a Wuhan virus. Trump has spared no opportunity to take on China. He has even claimed that China wants him to lose the 2020 race. He said and I quote: China will do anything they can to have me lose this race.

But Trump's ties with China has not always been all pessimistic. There have been better moments. Mostly, during the initial years of the presidency. In November 2017, he visited China. During the state visit, Trump's granddaughter--Arabella Kushner sang a Chinese song and recited poetry in Mandarin.

In April that year too--Arabella had recited poetry in Mandarin. This was during Xi's visit united states. There have also been occasions when Trump has been soft on China.

Bolton points out that the president was not keen on issuing a statement on the 30th anniversary of Tiananmen Square. There is something else that trump has been pretty silent on — the persecution of Uighurs. Trump has also not spoken much on the issue of 2 Canadian citizens being held in China.&nbsp;

Trump's dealings with China is full of flip-flops not too atypical of Trump. Coming back to the question-- is there a possibility that trump asked China to interfere in the upcoming US Elections.

Here's what I think first, nothing can be ruled out. &nbsp;Trump is not a fan of playing safe. But at the same time, one cannot rule out the possibility of an election plot. You see, Trump is a kind of leader who reacts to anything under the sun. Throw a Chinese conspiracy theory at him— and trump reaction will compel thousands to consider a 'maybe’.

And this is something-- Democrats can cashing on. Finally, the claim has been made by Bolton.&nbsp;

There have been cases in the past of people writing books about their time working jobs with access to highly classified information and having their profits taken. And here are chances that Bolton might have exaggerated things to sell more copies.

As the country is observing protests to put an end to racism against the African-American and Asian communities in the US, the President decided to term the coronavirus as "kung flu" to blame China for spreading the virus in the world.&nbsp;

While the blame game has been going on since months, the usage of the word 'kung' is a racist move that can bring violent disturbances for the Asian community in the US.

Berman, whose office has been investigating President Donald Trump's personal lawyer, Rudolph Giuliani, on Friday refused to step down after the administration abruptly said it was replacing him.

"Unfortunately, with your statement of last night, you have chosen public spectacle over public service," Barr wrote in his letter to Berman. "Because you have declared that you have no intention of resigning, I have asked the President to remove you as of today, and he has done so."

Geoffrey Berman released a statement a few hours later saying that he will exit his post. &nbsp;"In light of Attorney General Barr's decision to respect the normal operation of law and have Deputy US Attorney Audrey Strauss become Acting US Attorney, I will be leaving the US Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York, effective immediately," he said.

The dramatic standoff comes as Trump seeks to purge officials perceived as not fully supporting him. In recent weeks he has fired a series of agency watchdogs, including one who played a key role in Trump's impeachment earlier this year.

It also marks the latest in series of unusual actions by Attorney General William Barr that critics say are meant to benefit Trump politically and undermine the independence of the Justice Department.

Berman said he had no intention of resigning.

Since being appointed in January 2018, Berman has not shied from taking on figures in Trump's orbit. His office oversaw the prosecution of Michael Cohen, Trump's former personal lawyer, indicted two Giuliani associates and launched a probe into Giuliani in connection with his efforts to dig up dirt on Trump's political adversaries in Ukraine. 
Prosecutors have not accused Giuliani of wrongdoing.

The Human Rights Campaign, an LGBTQ advocacy group, said it planned to "sue the Trump administration for exceeding their legal authority and attempting to remove basic health care protections from vulnerable communities including LGBTQ people."

Trump says he'll leave peacefully if he loses election in November, but it'll be 'bad' for US

Dozens of scientists who are conducting research, backed by Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, have advised the CEO to atleast flag the posts published by the US President Donald Trump.

The researchers believe that the social media giant should&nbsp;not allow Donald Trump use&nbsp;the social media platform to "spread both misinformation and incendiary statements."

The researchers have asked Zuckerberg to consider the sensitive time that the country is going through and ensure "stricter policies on misinformation and incendiary language that harms people."

The team of researchers sent a letter to the Facebook CEO&nbsp;giving their suggestions. The letter had 160 signatories, out of these 160, about&nbsp;10% are employees of Chan Zuckerberg foundations and nearly 60 professors are from leading US research institutions.

The research is led by Debora Marks of Harvard Medical School,&nbsp;Martin Kampmann of the University of California-San Francisco and Jason Shepherd of the University of Utah.

The letter calls the spread of "deliberate misinformation and divisive language."

The researchers are looking at using technology to prevent and eradicate disease, improve childhood education and reform the criminal justice system.

The researchers' mission "is antithetical to some of the stances that Facebook has been taking, so we're encouraging them to be more on the side of truth and on the right side of history as we've said in the letter," said&nbsp;Debora Marks of Harvard Medical School.

The letter clearly voices against the post of Trump in which he said 'when looting starts, shooting starts'. The researchers claimed this was "a clear statement of inciting violence". The researchers have voiced against such insensitive posts and has asked the Facebook CEO to flag such posts.

There has been no comment from Zuckerberg or the&nbsp;Chan Zuckerberg Initiative program.

The team of researchers sent a letter to the Facebook CEO giving their suggestions. The letter had 160 signatories, out of these 160, about 10% are employees of Chan Zuckerberg foundations and nearly 60 professors are from leading US research institutions. The research is led by Debora Marks of Harvard Medical School, Martin Kampmann of the University of California-San Francisco and Jason Shepherd of the University of Utah. The initiative is run by Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan. The letter calls the spread of "deliberate misinformation and divisive language." The researchers are looking at using technology to prevent and eradicate disease, improve childhood education and reform the criminal justice system. The researchers' mission "is antithetical to some of the stances that Facebook has been taking, so we're encouraging them to be more on the side of truth and on the right side of history as we've said in the letter," said Debora Marks of Harvard Medical School. The letter clearly voices against the post of Trump in which he said 'when looting starts, shooting starts'. The researchers claimed this was "a clear statement of inciting violence". The researchers have voiced against such insensitive posts and has asked the Facebook CEO to flag such posts. There has been no comment from Zuckerberg or the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative program.

PM Modi not in a good mood: Trump says about Indo-China border dispute

China and India do not need help from the US to resolve their current round frictions at the border, China's state-run media said on Thursday in response to President Donald Trump's offer to mediate, pointing out that the leadership of the two countries successfully solved the Doklam standoff in 2017 with "concerted efforts and wisdom."

While the Chinese Foreign Ministry is yet to react to Trump's tweet which appears to have caught Beijing by surprise, an op-ed article in the state-run Global Times said both countries don't need such help from President Trump.

"The latest dispute can be solved bilaterally by China and India. The two countries should keep alert on the US, which exploits every chance to create waves that jeopardize regional peace and order," it said.

"China and India successfully solved their Doklam faceoff with concerted efforts and wisdom. The two informal summits between the leadership of the two sides, one in the Chinese city of Wuhan in 2018 and the other in the Indian city of Chennai in 2019, set the tone to maintain peace and tranquillity along the border," it said.

"Indian experts also believe that the special representatives' talks on the boundary question between India and China constitute an important channel of communication, and should continue to mitigate border standoffs and other hot issues," it said.

Amid latest flare-ups between Indian and Chinese armies, Trump on Wednesday said he was "ready, willing and able to mediate" between the two countries.

"We have informed both India and China that the United States is ready, willing and able to mediate or arbitrate their now raging border dispute," Trump said in a tweet on Wednesday.

In New Delhi, the Ministry of External Affairs said on Thursday that India was engaged with China to resolve the border issue, in a carefully crafted reaction seen as a virtual rejection of President Trump's offer.

"We are engaged with the Chinese side to peacefully resolve it," External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Anurag Srivastava said, replying to a volley of questions at an online media briefing.

The MEA spokesperson did not reply to questions like whether the US had approached India with the offer, whether New Delhi has communicated its response over it to Washington or whether the Trump administration has been briefed about the current standoff between Chinese and Indian soldiers in eastern Ladakh.

At the same time, he asserted that India is "firm" in its resolve to protect its sovereignty and national security.

Mr Srivastava said India is committed to the objective of maintenance of peace and tranquillity along the Line of Actual Control and that Indian troops take a very responsible approach towards border management.

Kudlow`s comments came at the end of a week of complaints from Trump about China`s early handling of the coronavirus outbreak, and separate steps by his government to crack down on China`s blacklisted telecoms equipment giant Huawei Technologies and curb US&nbsp;investment in some Chinese companies.

On Thursday, Trump said he now feels differently about the trade deal and may even cut economic ties with Beijing.

Asked at a White House Rose Garden event on Friday whether he is planning to impose additional tariffs on China or tear up the trade deal, Trump said: "I don`t want to talk about it. I can say China is buying a lot of our product. But the trade deal, the ink was barely dry when this (the virus) came in from China, so it's not like we're thrilled."

Kudlow noted what he described as a successful phone call last week with Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer and Liu He, China's vice premier, as well as a positive deputies call on Thursday night.

"We have other issues with China, and of course the origin of the virus ... but with respect to the trade deal, it is continuing, absolutely," Kudlow said.

Earlier this week, the Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board, which oversees billions in federal retirement dollars, said it would indefinitely delay plans to invest in some Chinese companies that are under scrutiny in Washington.
