Deepika Padukone to skip Sonam Kapoor, Anand Ahuja's wedding on May 8

Don’t expect Bollywood’s fashionista Sonam Kapoor to take a break from work even though she gets married in less than a week's time, on May 8. The two romanced each other in the hit film Raanjhanaa that released in the year 2013.

Don’t expect Bollywood’s fashionista Sonam Kapoor to take a break from work even though she gets married in less than a week's time, on May 8. As per the wedding cards that we shared with you yesterday, Sonam Kapoor will get married in a span of two days -- starting May 7 with both families hosting a total of three functions. Sonam will then post-wedding spring back in action and start preparations for her red carpet walk at Cannes. According to reports, she will walk on May 14 and 15. His film is slated for a release on May 30 in France. While the two actors, Sonam and Dhanush will be there at Cannes, it is highly unlikely that the two will get a chance to meet. Sonam Kapoor on her marriage to Anand Ahuja: Everybody will hear everything in all good time

Sonam Kapoor says she hopes her upcoming film Veere di Wedding will bring about a change in the way women characters are treated in Indian movies.

The 32-year-old actor launched the trailer of the film on Wednesday along with her co-stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania.

"I don't think a film like this has been made before. It is entertaining and has everything from romance to drama. And why can't a female headline a commercial film that is about girls which has a story? Things might change if this film works, I hope it brings about a change in the roles that are written for us," Sonam said.

The actor also hopes films based on women can help in changing the "misogynistic mindset".

"There is very long way before it happens. People like Kareena are setting an example. She got married and then she was on the sets and after having a baby she was on the sets. Shahid Kapoor got married did anyone ask whether he will work or not. Nobody will ask this question to a man.

"This misogynistic mindset is what needs to change and hopefully with films like this things will change. We are hoping this film does well. It is important for this film to do well so we as a women will get our space. We can break the glass in some way or the other," she added.

The first trailer of the film has the actors using cuss words. When asked about the censor certificate, Sonam said she is not the right person to comment on it.
"This question is better asked to producers of the film. They are not here, there is a reason why they are not here. We don't know. There is nothing objectionable in the film," she added.

Excitement is building up around Sonam Kapoor-Anand Ahuja's wedding. The couple may not have officially confirmed the news yet but reports suggest that Sonam and Anand are getting married in May in Mumbai and preparations at the Kapoor household are in full swing.

Sources close to the family have stated that the D-Day will be narrowed down once the venue is fixed but that family has decided that the festivities will take place from May 8th to May 12th. According to reports, the guest list comprises practically the entire Bollywood.

It was earlier reported that the couple would tie the knot in Geneva but the families felt it would be logistically difficult to fly out so many guests to Geneva. There were also reports that they would be tying the knot in April end but it seems the said dates are going to be between May 8th-12th.

Sonam's Veere Di Wedding co-star Kareena Kapoor, her BFFs Swara Bhaskar and Jacqueline Fernandez, Salman Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Karan Johar, Saif Ali Khan, Karisma Kapoor and Varun Dhawan are some of the confirmed invitees. The venue is reportedly going to be a suburban hotel in Mumbai. The invites will only be sent out once the venue is decided.

Sonam Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan and others attend Jaya Bachchan's 70th birthday party

Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja will be tying the knot in Geneva, Switzerland in the second week of May if media reports are to be believed.

Reports state that preparations are in full swing and friends and family members of the couple have already booked their tickets to Geneva to attend the D-Day.

“Most of us are flying out of Mumbai. Anand’s family and some of Sonam’s relatives will probably fly from Delhi. The marriage and other ceremonies are being planned as a two-day affair. But, we have to leave room for some impromptu events. I’m planning to keep myself free for at least four days, not to forget the to and fro travel," a friend of the couple was quoted as saying to a daily.

The actress, who has been dating Ahuja, a designer and entrepreneur, for the past few years has always kept mum about her affair whenever she has been asked to comment on it. The couple, though, is quite open about their relationship on Instagram and are often seen sharing photos and posts of each other.

The two have decided to keep the wedding a private affair but it is not clear yet whether they will host a reception in Mumbai for their friends from the film fraternity.

The preps for the big day have already begun!

“I can see myself in all things and all people around me.” MERRY CHRISTMAS ? “A lot of different flowers make a bouquet.” A post shared by sonamkapoor (@sonamkapoor) on Dec 25, 2017 at 4:39am PST × infinite potentiallity of life ? Me and Khushi have lost our mother but papa has lost his “Jaan”. She was so much more than just an actor or a mother or a wife. She was the ultimate and the best in all these roles. It mattered a great deal to her to give love and to get love. For people to be good and gracious and kind. She didn’t understand frustration or malice or jealousy. So let’s be that. Let’s be full of only good and give only love. That would make her happy, to know that even in death, she gave you all something. The courage and inspiration to fill yourselves with nothing but love and rid yourselves of bitterness in any way and form. That’s what she stood for. Dignity, strength and innocence. Thank you for the love and support everyone has shown us in the past couple of days. It’s given us hope and strength and we can’t thank you all enough.
