Gunman, who was later identified as Huu Can Tran, 72, was dressed in dark clothing and a hat. In the CCTV footage obtained by NBC, Tran visibly moves out of the camera for about 30 seconds and returns to an empty lobby in the dance hall wrestling with Tsay for the weapon. Tsay continued to push Tran away until finally the gunman gives up and walks out.&nbsp;

“There was a moment I actually froze up, because I was, I had the belief that I was gonna die, like my life was ending here, at that very moment,” Tsay recollects what he felt during his confrontation with the gunman.&nbsp;

“But something amazing happened, a miracle actually. He started to try to prep his weapon so he could shoot everybody, but then it dawned on me that this was the moment to disarm him. I could do something here that could protect everybody and potentially save myself.”

“When he came in, he said nothing,” he said. “His face was very stoic. His expressions were mostly in his eyes — looking around trying to find people, trying to scout the area for other people.”

Tsay works at the dance hall a few nights a week to operate the place as the third generation in his family. The shooting took place during the Lunar Year celebrations. While speaking with "Good Morning America”, Tsay said that he heard the sound of the front door creaking closing which was&nbsp;immediately followed by the sound of a metal object clinking together.&nbsp;

“We struggled into the lobby, trying to get this gun away from each other,” Tsay told ABC News. “He was hitting me across the face, bashing the back of my head. I was trying to use my elbows to separate the gun away from him, creating some distance.”

Tran was confirmed dead with a self-inflicted wound later. Though the motive of the shooting has yet not been made clear, Monterey Park Mayor Henry Lo told NBC News the gunman may have been targeting his ex-wife.&nbsp;

The police stated that one of the victims is in critical condition. He added that they have made no arrests so far, however, they believe that the attack was “targeted”.

While speaking at a news conference on Sunday, Baton Rouge Police Chief Murphy Paul said, “This was not a random act of violence, based on the preliminary investigating efforts.”&nbsp;

When the shooting took place around 1:30 am local time, three Baton Rouge police officers were present in the nearby vicinity and immediately responded to the Dior Bar &amp; Lounge. The life-saving aid was administered by them till emergency medical technicians arrived.

“We believe their immediate response prevented further injuries,” said Paul. Although there are some leads with the police, Paul appealed to people to provide them with any information they have on the shooting that took place in the nightclub.&nbsp;

“There is someone who knows something - do the right thing. You can save the next incident because it is obvious that this person has total disregard for life,” said Paul.&nbsp;

At least 10 people were killed and at least 10 others injured&nbsp;in a mass shooting&nbsp;at a ballroom dance club amid Lunar New Year celebrations attended by thousands of people in&nbsp;Monterey Park city&nbsp;in California, late Saturday, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.&nbsp;The incident took place on Saturday 10 pm&nbsp;(0600 GMT) in Monterey Park, a city east of Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Times newspaper reported. Tens of thousands of people had gathered for the celebrations in the area.&nbsp;

Sgt Bob Boese of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said early Sunday that the shooting occurred at a business on Garvey Ave in Monterey Park — a city of about 60,000 people with a large Asian population about 10 miles (16 km) from downtown Los Angeles. 
The shooter is a male, he added. 
 
Saturday was the start of the two-day festival, which is one of the largest Lunar New Year events in Southern California.&nbsp;The two-day event features food booths, amusement rides, and lots of live entertainment,&nbsp;says the city’s website.&nbsp;The events for Sunday were canceled out of respect for the victims, Chief Scott Wiese of the Monterey Park Police Department, said at the news conference. 
 
“Investigators are working every lead on this case,” Capt. Andrew Meyer from the department’s homicide division said at a news conference early Sunday, adding that they were reviewing CCTV footage from near the scene at a ballroom dance club. 
 
Meyer said the male suspect fled the scene and remains at large. More information about the suspect would be provided once it becomes available, he added.

A video on social media showed police and fire units swarming the Garvey Avenue.

Earlier, dozens of police officers responded to the shooting reported from a community in California where a huge crowd had finished celebrating the Chinese Lunar New Year, the Los Angeles Times newspaper reported. 
 
Seung Won Choi, who owns the Clam House seafood barbecue restaurant across the street from where the shooting happened, told the Los Angeles Times that three people had rushed into his establishment and urged him to lock all the doors.&nbsp; 
 
They also told Choi that there was a shooter with a machine gun who had multiple rounds of ammunition on him so he could reload. Choi said he believes the shooting took place at a dance club. 
 
The status of the shooter is unknown at this time. Some law enforcement sources told the LA Times that at least 12 people had died. 
 
Several visuals from the scene shared on social media show a deserted road with one section cordoned off and police sirens blaring in the background. Other images showed the injured being taken away in ambulances to nearby hospitals and some receiving medical assistance by the side of the road.&nbsp;It is unclear whether the mass shooting suspect was in custody.

"Initial enquiries suggest the shots were fired from a moving vehicle which was then driven away from the scene," London's Met Police said in a statement as they launched an urgent appeal for witnesses.

Father Jeremy Trood, the priest who conducted the service, told PA news agency that it had been a requiem mass for Sara Sanchez, 20, and her mother, who both died within a month of each other in November.

Sara succumbed to Leukemia while her mother died due to a blood clot on arrival from Heathrow from Colombia, the MyLondon news website reported.

"I heard this almighty bang and I thought this was not normal, and the next minute everyone was screaming and shouting," a neighbour told PA.

In addition to the seven-year-old girl, four women and another girl, 12, were wounded in the incident near the busy Euston train station.

The other girl was discharged from the hospital after receiving treatment for minor leg injuries.&nbsp;

Police said that a 21-year-old woman was also in a central London hospital but her injuries were non-threatening.

Three other women aged 41, 48, and 54, remained in hospital with non life-threatening injuries, police said.

"Any shooting incident is unacceptable, but for multiple people, including two children, to be injured in a shooting in the middle of a Saturday afternoon is shocking," said the police Superintendent Ed Wells.

"An investigation into this dreadful attack is already well under way involving local officers and specialist detectives," he added. 
A witness told MyLondon the shots were fired as mourners who had attended the mass watched doves being released afterwards.

Earlier, he informed the press that police officials heard gunshots on the first floor of Nordstorm store of Minnesota's Mall of America around 8 pm (local time) on Friday. Later, an officer working at the Watches of Switzerland store discovered a body of a 19-year-old African American boy shot multiple times.&nbsp;

The police performed protective measures on the victim but could not save him. Another bullet grazed a bystander, but the person is likely to survive, said&nbsp;Hodges.

As per the initial probe, a quarrel between two groups of young men led to the shooting in the Nordstrom store. CCTV footage showed a male taking out a gun and shooting the victim, said the police chief. However, the police have not quoted the motive of the crime yet.

In August 2022, Mall of America witnessed a similar incident where someone fired gunshots in a crowded store. However, the police did not list any casualties. Furthermore, a domestic-related fatal stabbing at the mall also happened in 1999.&nbsp;

Among the deceased were three men and two women, of which three of the victims were members of the condo board. Another woman was injured and remains hospitalised.&nbsp;

Villi was later killed during a confrontation with the police at the hallway of the&nbsp;building in Vaughan, Ontario.

The police had described the murder sit as a “horrendous scene where numerous victims were deceased.”

Police have not yet disclosed the possible motive for the attack or released the names or ages of the victims.

Ontario's Special Investigations Unit spokesperson Kristy Denette said that the attacker carried a semiautomatic handgun and that investigators don't believe he exchanged fire with the officer who killed him.

Police said that there was no further threat to the community and was hoping to get residents back into the building.

The former premier, who was ousted in a no-confidence vote in April, said he would join the rally in 10 to 14 days' time when it reaches&nbsp;the city of Rawalpindi, a short drive from the capital Islamabad.
