A 27-year-old software professional, identified as Yuvraj Mehta, died after his car plunged into a water-filled pit at a construction site in Noida, police said. The accident occurred when the vehicle veered off the road and fell into the open pit, which was reportedly unbarricaded.

One Indian student died and two were injured after they met with a road accident in Oskemen while returning from an excursion to the Altai Mountains in East Kazakhstan. All the injured students are currently receiving treatment at City Hospital No. 1 in Oskemen.

The accident took place on a two-lane road in Sano, Tochigi Prefecture. It happened after the tea leaves scattered over a 500-metre stretch of the road. While four people were taken to the hospital, one of them was later confirmed dead.

Following the incident, two accused have been arrested and an FIR has been registered at Vijayanagar police station in the aforementioned case, seizing the car involved in the accident.

The bus was carrying Afghans recently returned from Iran and en route to the capital Kabul, provincial official Mohammad Yousuf Saeedi told AFP.

The driver was a 17-year-old boy, who was later apprehended. Moreover, legal action has been taken against the owner of the vehicle.
