In the movie, the 'Newton'&nbsp;star will be seen essaying the role of a school sports teacher.`Chhalaang` was earlier scheduled for a March release, and the first poster of the film was launched in January this year.<br />

The poster mentioned the release date as March 15, however, due to the coronavirus induced lockdown, the theatres had to be shut. Therefore, the film will now release digitally.</p>

<p>Bollywood has often been accused of not representing the LGBTQ community through its films. Sure there have been films which have had gay characters- but they have either been subjected to mockery or made the comic relief in the story. Neither has the community been represented in the films properly nor has there been any acceptance for them and their stories in cinema. Never normalised, a gay-track has for time immemorial been just there to provide the laughs. Which is why director Shelly Chopra Dhar's 'Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga' should be lauded, for it not only breaks several Bollywood cliches but also brings perhaps for the first time a same-sex story in mainstream cinema.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Playwriter Sahil Mirza(Rajkummar Rao) follows his muse Sweety Chaudhary(Sonam Kapoor) from Delhi to Moga, Punjab in search of a heartwarming, 'true-love wala' story for his next play. A chance encounter during play rehearsals, Sweety tells Sahil that how his story has no heart, and as Sahil helps Sweety to escape the wrath of her hyper-outraged brother- Sahil falls for her. Sahil reaches Moga to woo Sweety and to find a new story for his play but series of wrong identities and misconceptions occur and a life-altering secret is revealed to him. Sahil then sets out to convince Sweety's family about their daughter by staging an elaborate play. The play not just aims to break myths within a close-knit family but also of the conservative society at large as its cast sets out to invite people in the town to watch the play.&nbsp;</p>

<p>At its core, the story is of course of Sweety and her struggle to get acceptability for her love but it is also a story of a father and a daughter. A single-parent, Balbir Chaudhary(Anil Kapoor) has raised his children right, and has been exceptionally close to his daughter yet has been unable to connect to her when she needed him the most. Perhaps one of the biggest wins for the film is Anil Kapoor's presence. As the amiable father who fails to understand his daughter's real issues, Kapoor's performance is pitch perfect. He lights up each of the scenes with his charm and wit.</p>

<p>Complimenting Kapoor are actors Rajkummar Rao, Juhi Chawla, and Abhishek Duhan. It is refreshing to see Rao play a quintessential Bollywood lover-boy in this film. Rao's tone is always on point and he doesn't disappoint even in this film. It's always good to see Juhi Chawla in films - she brings her vivacious charm to every role that she portrays and as the best friend to the hero, Chawla's scenes always bring a smile to your face. Look out for the scenes between her and Anil Kapoor- it surely will bring back memories of the 1990s.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The other actor who shines in the ensemble cast is Abhishek Duhan. Duhan impressed one and all last year with his performance in 'Pataakha' and here, as the overtly hyper, always-outraged brother, Duhan is impressive.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The film is centered around Sonam Kapoor, who delivers a restraint performannce as the shy, awkward, troubled Sweety. Sonam gets the character right on most occasions, but I wish she had worked a little harder on her dialogue delivery- which gets muted in the garb of being spoken softly. Playing her lover is Regina Cassandra, south-actress, who shows spark in her limited screentime.&nbsp;</p>

<p>While the film's story is its biggest draw- it isn't devoid of flaws. Since the film is a same-sex love story, I wish the writers had invested more time in narrating their love story. Regina appears in the second half only, and the sparks between the two women are minimal. Also, while the film is about two women, it is ultimately a man who helps these women to get approval from another man. Perhaps the story would have had a greater impact if the women in question had taken it upon themselves to get acceptance on their own.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Despite these flaws, 'Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga' is a step in the right direction. It not only brings a different love story into the mainstream cinema but narrates the story very well cushioned within the frame of a family entertainer. 'Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga' review: Anil and Sonam Kapoor's film is heartwarming

<p>There are so many moments in director Prakash Kovelamudi's latest 'Judgementall Hai Kya' that seemed to draw references from real life. From its lines to the premise and how it portrays its lead character- the film is meta at so many levels.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The film's lead, Kangana Ranaut plays Bobby Batliwala Grewal, a half-Punjabi, half-Parsi dubbing artist who suffers from a dissociative identity disorder. She does elaborate photoshoots dressed in characters she gives her voice too and has a manager cum boyfriend Varun (the terrific Hussain Dalal) who she blames can't get her a proper role in a movie. 'Tum normal nahi ho', Varun says to Bobby right at the beginning - which serves as a forewarning to the audience on how to perceive Bobby and her antics.&nbsp;</p>

<p>She lives alone in a sprawling bungalow and is okay with the usual humdrum of her life, creating birds and flowers out of gory murder news snippets and making occasional visits to the mental asylum. Her so-called peace is disrupted when a new couple, Rima and Keshav (Amyra Dastur and Rajkummar Rao) become tenants in her house. While she is fascinated by the brooding Keshav, she is also convinced he is not what he seems to appear. Soon enough a murder takes place and Bobby is quick to blame Keshav and thus begins the chase of cat and mouse with both Bobby and Keshav trying to outdo each other as the plot takes numerous twists and turns.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Written by Kanika Dhillon, some of the film's most poignant&nbsp;moments seem to be drawn from Kangana's personal life. An actress who's always managed to raise eyebrows for her choice of roles as well as unhinged take on society, Kangana has seen the good and bad side of Bollywood up close and personal. She has had a love-hate relationship with many biggies in the film industry. There are moments in the film, that has Kangana's character being warned by Varun to behave properly in front of colleagues else no one would give her work- a warning that perhaps Kangana has got in real life too for speaking her mind.&nbsp;</p>

<p>While one can't help but draw parallels between the reel and real ever so often while watching the film, the taut script ensures you are glued to the seat in this psychological thriller. The film not only talks about mental health and our perception of those suffering from it- but it also subtly takes a stand on domestic violence and abuse. With a modern take on Ramayana, where Sita (Dhillon makes a cameo as a theatre actress) &nbsp;goes to seek Ravana herself instead of the other way round- 'Judgementall Hai Kya' gives many layers to a basic murder plot. Which is both complicated and fascinating at the same time. Sure, the many twists and turns demand your undivided attention, but in the end, it delivers a relevant message- loud and clear.&nbsp;</p>

Rao, as usual, delivers a fine, nuanced performance as a regular guy Keshav, who has to deal with too many things at the same time and outsmart Bobby and her crazy. Then there are delightful, strong performances by Hussain Dalal (who gets the best lines in the film), Amrita Puri, Jimmy Sheirgill and Amyra Dastur who in limited screen time are impactful. But the film rests on Kangana Ranaut who is in terrific form as the loony, troubled Bobby.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Bobby is not an easy person to deal with. She suffers from acute psychosis and has multiple voices speaking to her at all time. And Kangana portrays her so well that at some point you feel that two are the same people. A scene where she describes to the cops the presence of a cockroach in her house is outstanding. Just notice the glint her eyes while she explains how the bug has a role to play in the murder that has taken place. Rao ably matches with her in every scene and it's such a delight to watch the two supremely talented actors perform and outdo each other.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A special word for Daniel B. George's score which is just right for a thriller that has so many twists and turns and Prakash Kumar's camera work which beautifully captures the dark spaces inside Bobby's head. While the film has enough quirk and mystery, the second half seems a bit stretched where the narrative slackens a bit. There are also a few oddities in the plot which don't add up to the overall story but those can be overlooked for its story and the performances.&nbsp;</p>

<p>At the onset, director Mikhil Musale's 'Made In China' looks intriguing. A Chinese diplomat is found dead in a hotel in Ahmedabad. Initial autopsy claims he died after consuming a magic soup with tiger extracts in it. The maker of the soup, Raghuvir Mehta (Rajkummar Rao) and his associates including sexologist Dr Vardhi(Boman Irani) are summoned by the investigating officers.</p>

<p>The film begins on a promising note, almost hinting at a mystery thriller. But the narrative soon moves to flashback recounting Raghuvir's various failed attempts at becoming an entrepreneur.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Like many households in Gujarat, Raghuvir belongs to a business family where his Uncle (Manoj Joshi) and cousin (Sumeet Vyas) have thriving businesses. Raghu, on the other hand, has been struggling to find his footing. Married to the love of his life Rukmini ( Mouni Roy), all he wants is to make her happy and make his family financially secure.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A chance encounter with an Indian investor (Paresh Rawal) and another dubious businessman in China gives Raghuveer a crackling idea. To sell magic soup in India to those suffering from sexual problems. Pitched as a Chinese aphrodisiac and recommended by Dr Vardhi, the magic soup starts selling like hot cake- benefitting not just Raghuvir but others who are associated with him.&nbsp;</p>

<p>It's an underground business where stakes are low and as Raghuvir and Vardhi grow as a brand, his family gets suspicious about his business- details of which are not known to them.&nbsp;</p>

<p>China and India are known to be the most populated countries in the world. So it surely is a great idea, to combine the two countries in a film that aims to talk about sexual health. While the message is delivered, it isn't the most effective.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Writers Niren Bhatt and Karan Vyas try to merge two very different but common topics. sex and the inhibitions that Indian society has while talking about it and entrepreneurship- an underdog managing to get a breakthrough after the initial struggle. On paper the idea may have seemed a good one- and why not. Selling Chinese aphrodisiac in a conservative town of Gujarat does ensure chuckles. But the film falters at the execution level.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The cast is great. From the ever-dependable Rajkummar Rao to the amazing Boman Irani to even the cameos by Gajraj Rao and Paresh Rawal- the actors fit seamlessly in their respective roles. The two leading men- Rao and Irani- get the local accent well and they never slip from their character. The two have the best lines and scenes and complement each other well- much like their characters.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Paresh Rawal, Sumeet Vyas, and Gajraj Rao have cameo appearances but are delightful in their limited screen time. Wish the writers had fleshed out a bit more on these characters and even on the two women in the film- Mouni Roy and Amyra Dastur.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The film's narrative seems overstretched and the first half appears quite tedious. One doesn't know where the story is headed really. It begins with a mysterious death and interrogation but soon becomes the story of how Raghuveer struck gold with his magic soup and you keep wondering what happened to the case in hand.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Rajkummar has also signed another film, this time a remake of the classic movie ‘Chupke Chupke’ that starred Dharmendra in the 1975 film. The film also had Amitabh Bachchan, Sharmila Tagore and Jaya Bachchan.</p>

<p>Talking about the remake, Rajkummar said in an interview, “It’s a big responsibility to step into his shoes,” talking about taking up the role portrayed by Dharmendra. He further said, “The scripting is underway now. We know that we can’t match Hrishida’s (Hrishikesh Mukherjee, Director) standard, but we will try to put our best foot forward.”</p>

<p>Meanwhile, Rajkummar also opened up on why he had to let go of his film with Karan Johar, ‘Dostana 2’. He said, “My next project, opposite Priyanka Chopra, will be shot during the same time, But it’s a great script and Colin D’Cunha, the director, is my classmate from FTII.”</p>

'Made in China' trailer: Rajkummar Rao plays an entrepreneur wanting to improve people's sex life

<p>Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao`s latest release `Judgementall Hai Kya` is off to a flying start. The film, which opened to<a href="https://www.wionews.com/entertainment/judgementall-hai-kya-review-kangana-ranaut-is-terrific-in-this-twisted-thriller-238555"> good reviews,</a> performed remarkably well in its first weekend and managed to rake in a total of Rs. 19.25 crore.&nbsp;<br />

The film brings back the dynamic duo of Kangana and Rajkummar, six years after first winning a million hearts with `Queen'.&nbsp;<br />

After a lukewarm opening of Rs. 4.5 crore on Friday, the film saw an increase in the numbers and minted Rs. 7 crore on Saturday. The movie recorded similar numbers on Sunday, earning Rs. 7.75 crore approximately, as per Box Office India.<br />

According to Box Office India, the psychological thriller showed a solid growth on Saturday and Sunday and its arc is being compared to that of Ayushmann Khurrana`s `Article 15` which opened at 4.79 crore and went on to collect Rs 19.84 crore over its first weekend.&nbsp;</p>

According to Box Office India, the psychological thriller showed a solid growth on Saturday and Sunday and its arc is being compared to that of Ayushmann Khurrana`s `Article 15` which opened at 4.79 crore and went on to collect Rs 19.84 crore over its first weekend. However, `Article 15` opened during the World Cup that probably affected its business.Surrounded by a number of controversies, `Judgementall Hai Kya` had an opening lower than Kangana`s directorial debut `Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi`, which earned Rs 8.75 crore on its first day. `Judgementall Hai Kya` is about two murder suspects - Kangana as Bobby and Rajkummar as Keshav.While Bobby is a dubbing artist suffering from acute psychosis, a mental disorder, Keshav is the new tenant, who she gets attracted to. But Keshav is married to Rima (Amyra Dastur), who is murdered, and Bobby is convinced that Keshav is behind it. The film received rave reviews from critics and going by the box office numbers, it is being liked by the moviegoers too. <p>Savi, who started his Bollywood career with Anurag`s films, currently works for 12 hours a day as a security guard.</p>

<p>"It is a 12-hour tough job. It`s a mechanical job. I don`t even have money to buy bus tickets. To watch a film in theatre is like a dream now. My financial condition is not good," he said in the viral video that was shared on Youtube by a website.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Despite financial crisis and working as a security guard, he hopes to "have a good bank balance and bag roles in films soon".&nbsp;<br />

<p>"I will soon start shooting for Anurag Basu's film. I am looking forward to it," Sanya told reporters here.</p>

<p>The as-yet-untitled film centres on unavoidable jeopardies of life and have four different stories set in a quintessential Indian metro.</p>

<p>Produced by Bhushan Kumar of T-Series, the film's stellar cast includes Abhishek Bachchan, Rajkummar Rao, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Aditya Roy Kapur, and Pankaj Tripathi.</p>

<p>Sanya is also excited about Ritesh Batra's 'Photograph', which features her opposite Nawazuddin Siddiqui. The film had its premiere at the ongoing Sundance Film Festival in the US.</p>

<p>"I just returned from Sundance Film Festival two days ago. The response to 'Photograph' was amazing. Now we are excited about the Berlin Film Festival," she said.&nbsp;</p>
