<p>Rajkummar Rao may have emerged as a major draw at the box office but the actor does not believe he is anywhere near the super stardom that the three Khans have in Bollywood.<br />

There is a great churning in Bollywood with content driven films outperforming and outclassing those headlined by the likes of Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan.<br />

Rajkummar, who is the considered one of the faces of this new breed of cinema, however, says it would not be right to compare his stardom with that of the Khans.<br />
<br />
"I don't think we can compare superstars and actors like me. The kind of films Aamir sir, Shah Rukh sir and Salman sir have done are amazing. You can't say they are not good just because one of their films did not work.<br />
<br />
"They are superstars for some reason and we all love them. I am myself a fan of Khans. We should not compare. We are very new and we have a long way to prove ourselves. I don't think the kind of superstardom that these superstars have seen will ever come back again," Rajkummar told PTI.<br />
<br />
The actor believes the mass hysteria and mania around their superstardom is something that all actors yearn for but it just cannot be replicated.<br />
<br />
"I want all our films to do well at the box office. But the craze that they have seen is something I don't think is going to comeback. It is very tough. People love these actors, the way people react, shout, hug, cry... The phenomenon is huge."<br />
<br />
The 34-year-old actor, whose filmography includes gems like 'Newton', 'Trapped', 'Bareilly Ki Barfi'&nbsp;and 'Stree', among others, rules himself out of the contention of being the next big Bollywood superstar.<br />
<br />
"I am very happy doing what I am doing and if it takes me there, good. But let me tell you I am happy in this space."<br />
<br />
The actor had five releases in 2018 but it was Amar Kaushik's 'Stree' &nbsp;that did the wonders for Rajkummar at the box office. He also starred in critically-acclaimed films ' Omerta' &nbsp;and 'Love Sonia'.<br />

"Audience loved these stories more than anything else. Today people are more concerned about the content they are seeing. I always try to offer new things. Since my debut film 'Love Sex Aur Dhokha', I am trying to experiment and push boundaries as an actor. I am happy people are accepting that. It is a feeling of validation as these are the kind of films I was doing earlier and today they are doing great numbers."<br />

Despite his recent success, the actor still reads all his scripts. He says yes to a project only if he feels the story is good.<br />
<br />
"I do get a lot of scripts, I don't want to give a number, I can't brag. I get all kinds of scripts from weird to some really interesting ones as well. I have a number of films to choose from.&nbsp;<br />
<br />
"I read all my scripts and I don't let other people decide. I believe an actor should invest their time in reading scripts carefully and understanding it. Also, there are filmmakers with whom I wanted to work and now I am getting the opportunity to do so."</p>

"This film ('Ek Ladki..') is more about acceptance. This is a family film, relationship drama, it is about friendship, love. I believe there has to be equality, you can't judge someone based on sexual preference. It is their life and who they want as their partners, it is a normal thing," he adds.&nbsp;<br />

He has interesting blend of films up for release this year - 'Mental Hai Kya'&nbsp;with Kangana Ranaut and 'Made in China'. He has also signed a film with Anurag Basu and Hansal Mehta.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to the Humans of Bombay post, Patralekhaa revealed that her first impression of Rajkummar was based on his role in his debut film `Love Sex Aur Dhokha`.&nbsp;</p>

<p>While she initially thought Rao was "weird," when he first saw Patralekhaa in an advertisement, Rao thought, "I`m going to marry her."</p>

<p>Patralekhaa went on to add in the post that things changed when they started working together. "It was magic. The kind of passion he had was powerful and I couldn`t respect him any more than I did then! We spoke about our work, love for cinema, passion... I saw him through his struggles, never giving up. How could we not fall for each other?" Patralekhaa said.</p>

<p>Elaborating on how much Rao feels for her Patralekhaa revealed how once when he was late meeting her, he ran all the way from the airport to Juhu.</p>

<p>However, what stood out in Patralekhaa`s lengthy post is when she wrote, "We’re equals- when an article said, ‘Rajkumar with his girlfriend, Patralekhaa’, he retweeted–‘Patralekhaa with her boyfriend Rajkumar.’ I can tell you this, when you find the one-through the fights, hurdles &amp; chaos, you should never forget to let them know you love them. It doesn’t have to be with expensive gifts &amp; dates–it can simply be with the way you hold them while they need it &amp; when they don’t. For us, we don’t know what the future holds, but this, being together, is enough."</p>

I thought that the weird guy he played in the film, was actually what he was like. My perception of him was already tarnished. He told me later, that he had first seen me in an ad and thought, ‘I’m going to marry her.’ It was so ironic!"&nbsp;</p>

<p>Love happened over a period of time for the couple. "Slowly we started talking about work, our love for cinema, our passion - everything. I saw him through his struggles, never giving up. How could we not fall for each other? We wouldn't officially go on dates, but we'd go for long drives, movies, or even sit at home and eat our hearts out. We'd even accompany each other for auditions - silently seeping in support. It's all we needed - that understanding."</p>

<p>The film has recently gone on the floors and is helmed by National award-winning Telugu filmmaker, Prakash Kovelamudi, who is making his Bollywood debut with <em>Mental Hai Kya.</em> Prakash is previously known for helming films like <em>Bommalata</em> and <em>Anaganaga O Dheerudu</em>.</p>

<p>The film will see the comeback of hit jodi, Rajkummar and Kangana who were seen in 2014 hit film&nbsp;<em>Queen.&nbsp;</em></p>

<p>In a statement, Rajkummar Rao had said, &ldquo;It&rsquo;s an amazing script as it is very quirky and different comedy. Kangana is such a powerhouse performer and we are coming together after Queen along with Ekta Kapoor (producer), so it&rsquo;s going to be a lot of fun.&rdquo;&nbsp;</p>

<p>The film is written by Kanika Dhillon and is produced under the banner of Balaji Motion Pictures. It is expected to release in the second half of 2018.</p>

<p>Released today, in one poster Kangana can be seen posing in what looks like a crime scene wearing a silver coloured bikini. She lies on the chalk outline which is used to mark a dead body. Meanwhile, Rajkummar has tape all over his face as he winks with an eye at the camera (or maybe, us?)</p>

<p>Star Screen Awards kickstarted the award season on Sunday night in Mumbai. The awards honoured the best in cinema in the year 2017. Vidya Balan&rsquo;s <em>Tumhari Sulu</em> won big bagging three awards including one for the lead actress and one for its debutant director.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Vidya Balan won the Best Actress (Popular)&nbsp;award for her portrayal of a spirited housewife who turns an RJ for a late-night show in Tumhari Sulu. Neha Dhupia, who played Vidya&rsquo;s boss in the film, won the Best Supporting Actress award. The film&rsquo;s director Suresh Triveni, won the Best Debut Director award.</p>

Star Screen Awards: Dangal, Vidya Balan, Irrfan Khan win top honours

<p>Rajkummar Rao, Vidya Balan, Irrfan Khan and team <em>Dangal</em> won top honours at Star Screen Awards. The first award ceremony of this season honoured the best of Bollywood in the year 2017. Rao took home Best Actor as well as Best Supporting Actor trophy. Vidya Balan&#39;s <em>Tumhari Sulu </em>also won three top honours including Best Supporting Actress award for Neha Dhupia.</p>

<p>Rao, who was co-hosting the event with actor Radhika Apte, said it was a coincidence that film director Majid Majidi was an &quot;Irani&quot;, just like the Union minister was. Hearing the remarks, the Union minister smiled.<br />
