Pakistan's political crisis and Army influence serve as a constant reminder to Pakistani leaders of India's strong democracy. Since the beginning of the ongoing political crisis, Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has repeatedly praised Indian democracy, foreign policy, and domestic politics. Pakistan's opposition leaders are now educating him on India's healthy democracy and fair politics. Also read | Threat letter shown by PM Imran Khan was drafted by Pakistan's foreign office: Maryam Nawaz Imran Khan's address to the country, in which he announced that he will not allow a "imported government" led by the opposition, prompted her reaction. On Friday night, she took to Twitter to remind out that no Indian prime minister facing a no-trust motion has broken the Constitution, democracy, or ethics. Maryam Nawaz Tweeted in Urdu, "There were 27 no-confidence motions against the various prime ministers who were reciting the anthems of India. No one has played with the constitution, democracy and ethics. Vajpayee lost by one vote, went home - did not take the country, constitution and nation hostage like you (Imran Khan) !" There have been 27 no-confidence motions filed against Indian Prime Ministers so far, with three of them losing power: VP Singh, HD Deve Gowda, and Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Vajpayee's case, where he calmly accepted defeat after losing by one vote, was mentioned by ex-PM Nawaz Sharif's daughter. Imran Khan, who had been Prime Minister of Pakistan since 2018, was set to face a no-confidence vote on April 3rd, which he was expected to lose. Instead, he skipped the polls, petitioned the President to dissolve Parliament, and warned the public that elections were imminent. Finally on April 10, the no-confidence motion against PM Imran Khan was passed after 174 votes were polled in favour of it. PM Imran Khan holds special cabinet meet as parliament discusses no-confidence vote

<p>Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) party on Saturday filed a review petition against the Supreme Court’s April 7 order that set aside the deputy speaker’s ruling on no-confidence motion against the prime minister.</p>

<p>According to the Express Tribune newspaper, the PTI in its petition urged the SC to “review, recall and set aside the Impugned Order dated 07.04.2022 passed in the captioned cases which are based on errors floating on the surface, therefore, the impugned order may kindly be recalled and the captioned causes be dismissed/discharged".</p>

<p>The government’s counsel has further asked the top court to suspend its ruling against the deputy speaker, who had rejected the no-trust vote in the lower house of the parliament.</p>

<p>"That the Honourable Bench of the August Court, despite its open court announcement/directions, has erred by not rendering any decision in the Presidential Reference No.01/2022 filed under Article 186 of the Constitution which was being heard along with the captioned cases and is of paramount importance," added the review petition.</p>

<p>The petition also pointed out that the procedure for a no-trust vote was elaborately provided in the Constitution and, therefore, "the honourable apex court is not entitled to micro-manage the affairs of the Parliament".</p>

<p>On March 8, the joint opposition, especially the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) and the Pakistan Peoples Party — had submitted the no-confidence motion against Imran Khan.</p>

Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) party on Saturday filed a review petition against the Supreme Court’s April 7 order that set aside the deputy speaker’s ruling on no-confidence motion against the prime minister.

Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) party on Saturday filed a review petition against the Supreme Court’s April 7 order that set aside the deputy speaker’s ruling on no-confidence motion against the prime minister. According to the Express Tribune newspaper, the PTI in its petition urged the SC to “review, recall and set aside the Impugned Order dated 07.04.2022 passed in the captioned cases which are based on errors floating on the surface, therefore, the impugned order may kindly be recalled and the captioned causes be dismissed/discharged". The government’s counsel has further asked the top court to suspend its ruling against the deputy speaker, who had rejected the no-trust vote in the lower house of the parliament. "That the Honourable Bench of the August Court, despite its open court announcement/directions, has erred by not rendering any decision in the Presidential Reference No.01/2022 filed under Article 186 of the Constitution which was being heard along with the captioned cases and is of paramount importance," added the review petition. The petition also pointed out that the procedure for a no-trust vote was elaborately provided in the Constitution and, therefore, "the honourable apex court is not entitled to micro-manage the affairs of the Parliament". On March 8, the joint opposition, especially the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) and the Pakistan Peoples Party — had submitted the no-confidence motion against Imran Khan. Currently, the National Assembly—the lower house of Pakistan’s parliament—is in the session to vote on a no-confidence motion against Imran Khan.
