They even managed to build a bubble that survived for a whopping 465 days.

In contrast to soap bubbles, the new bubbles can last more than a year before they pop, reported the scientists.

Rather than soap and water, the bubbles are made from water, microparticles of plastic, and a viscous, clear liquid called glycerol. The trio of ingredients prevents factors that normally quickly deflate bubbles.

Normally, the liquid in a soap bubble sinks to the bottom and leaves a thin film at the top, which can easily rupture. Furthermore, evaporation saps bubbles' strength. Plastic particles cling to water in the everlasting bubbles, maintaining the thickness of the film. The glycerol in the air blocks evaporation by absorbing moisture.

We were amazed when the bubble didn't rupture even after days, says Michael Baudoin of the Université de Lille in France.&nbsp;

In order to gauge how long the bubbles would last, he and his colleagues watched them closely. They waited and waited, and waited. The longest-lived bubble ever created under normal atmospheric conditions lasted 465 days before it burst.&nbsp;

Before it finally burst, that bubble turned slightly green, an indication of what finally caused it to pop. According to the team, microbes took residence in the bubble, weakening its structure.

Leif Ristroph, a professor at New York University who wasn't involved in the study, says such anti-evaporation technology could be useful in medicine. Speaking to NBC he said, “I’m daydreaming here, but I could imagine it might be useful to ‘armor’ little droplets in aerosols and sprays to make them last longer in air…For example, some sort of medicine that’s administered by spraying and breathing in the aerosol.”

The company has asked the local council to remove the bridge's central section so it can pass through. However, locals are angry over the decision to let it happen.&nbsp;

Reports have mentioned that the local council promised after a major renovation in 2017 that it would never again dismantle the bridge.&nbsp;

A spokesman for the mayor of Rotterdam told AFP, "It's the only route to the sea," adding that billionaire Bezos would foot the bill for the operation.&nbsp;

In Turkey, the owner of a cattle farm has experimented with virtual reality headsets on some of his cows to see if they can produce more milk. The virtual reality headsets create the illusion for the cows that they are outside in a sunny field.&nbsp;

Developed in cooperation with veterinarians to ensure cow safety, these VR headsets were first tested in Moscow, Russia.

The hardware is a standard human VR set, but it has been moulded to fit a cow's head. Once this was done, experts altered the colour palette in the software to make the VR headset more suitable for cows' eyes. The colours had to be tweaked since cows cannot see red or green.

A cattle breeder and rancher in Aksaray, Turkey, Izzet Koçak claims his cows' milk output has increased from 22 litres to 27 litres a day after using the VR devices on two of them.

According to Koçak, previous studies have shown that environmental conditions affect the health and milk production of cows.

In addition to walking his animals around the large pasture, Koçak allows them to listen to relaxing music with these VR glasses.&nbsp;

The rancher hopes to order glasses from Russia for all of his cows if all ten of the cows he's currently experimenting on show progress and the attempt prove successful.

The virtual reality glasses make the cows feel like they are in the middle of a field on a summer day, says Koçak.&nbsp;

He said that in his business, the cows on average provide them with 22 litres of milk every day. However, when the cows wear virtual reality glasses, they can view a vast green pasture, and the milk average of two cows wearing virtual reality glasses is up to 27 litres.&nbsp;

In Koçak's view, these glasses (VR headsets) are also emotionally beneficial for animals. He noted that they were less stressed when wearing them, and this is reflected in the milk yield, which is increasing in both quality and quantity.&nbsp;

After a picture of a man resembling Giovanni Gammino was taken outside a fruit shop in Galapagar, Spain, authorities tracked down the man.

Scientists at Emory University in the US state of Georgia conducted functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) on 50 grandmothers who were shown pictures of their grandchildren aged between three and 12 years old.

In addition to pictures of their grandchild, adults of the same sex as their grandchild and an unknown adult were shown as controls.

"They recruited areas of the brain that are involved with emotional empathy, and also areas of the brain that are involved in movement and motor simulation and preparation," James Rilling, an anthropologist and neuroscientist who led the study.

"When they're viewing these pictures of their grandchild, they're really feeling what the grandchild is feeling. So when the child is expressing joy, they're feeling that joy. When the children are expressing distress, they're feeling that distress."

It is thought that the same motor-related regions of the brain light up in the brains of mothers and are related to their instinct to pick up and approach their children.

On the other hand, when the grandmothers viewed pictures of their adult children, there was greater activation of brain regions linked to cognitive empathy, the ability to understand another's feelings without becoming emotionally involved.

In Rilling's view, this might be tied to children's cute appearance, also known as "baby schema" in science, which many young species share to elicit positive caregiving responses from parents.

David Plans, senior lecturer at the University of Exeter and head of research at Huma Therapeutics, who co-authored the study, pointed out that an early or late bedtime could possibly prevent individuals from receiving important cues, such as morning sunlight, that reset the body's internal clock.

He explains that when the circadian clock isn't reset properly over a prolonged period of time, inflammation increases and glucose regulation is impacted, both of which can increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases.

The team then examined data gathered from wrist-based devices worn by participants for seven days to see if there was a correlation with the time that participants fell asleep.

Taking various factors into account, including age, sex, smoking status, duration of sleep, irregular sleep patterns, diabetes status, blood pressure, and socio-economic status, the researchers found participants who went to sleep between 10 pm and 10:59 pm had a lower risk of cardiovascular disease.

People who fell asleep at midnight or later faced a 25 per cent higher risk of developing cardiovascular disease, whereas those who fell asleep before 10 pm faced a 24 per cent increased risk.

Those who fell asleep even an hour later had a 12 per cent higher risk of cardiovascular disease.

According to Plans, since they also took into account all of the more common cardiovascular risk factors, this association is clearly significant.
