<p>In a video posted on his social media application 'Truth&nbsp;Social' Trump, said&nbsp; he met with Ye and "we got along great, he expressed no anti-Semitism, &amp; I appreciated all of the nice things he said about me on 'Tucker Carlson [show].'"</p>

<p>Another definition describes gaslighting as the "psychological manipulation of a person usually over an extended period of time that causes the victim to question the validity of their own thoughts, perception of reality, or memories and typically leads to confusion, loss of confidence and self-esteem, the uncertainty of one's emotional or mental stability, and a dependency on the perpetrator".</p>

<p>As per Psychology Today, "The “I’m sorry you feel that way” approach, along with avoiding an argument in lieu of admitting fault, is good old-fashioned gaslighting".&nbsp;</p>

<p>His mysterious activities in the attic cause the house's lights to dim. When Bella mentions the strange phenomenon, Jack insists that the lights are not dimming. the repeated denial makes Bella doubt her sanity.&nbsp;</p>

<p>This sinister story titled 'Gas Light' gave birth to many play and movie adaptations and the word "Gaslighting".</p>

<p>Revah said that the fact that you can judge if a person is a longtime or heavy cigarette smoker just by looking at their CT scan, made her wonder if marijuana which is commonly the second most smoked substance will show similar results.</p>

<p>However, she was surprised to discover that not much information exists on this.</p>

<p>The study included more than 100 people, including those who smoked weed, cigarettes and even some non-smokers. Of these, 56 marijuana smokers some of which also smoked tobacco, 33 who only smoked tobacco and 57 non-smokers.</p>

<p>It was discovered that of the weed smokers 75 per cent had emphysema, a lung condition that causes shortness of breath, while the figure was less at 67 per cent for tobacco-only smokers and just five per cent for non-smokers.</p>

<p>"The main message is that it may not be as safe as people think it is, and we need more information," said Revah as per US news.</p>

<p>After two failed attempts, NASA will take another go at launching its new mega Moon rocket mission Artemis 1 on Wednesday.&nbsp;</p>

As crisis after crisis plague the world, 'Permacrisis' becomes Collins' word of the year 2022

<p>In Italy's Naples, a columbarium has collapsed, spilling out coffins some of which are left hanging precariously in the air.</p>

<p>A columbarium is a burial structure that holds niches for coffins and niches for funeral urns to be stored.</p>

<p>Dramatic pictures of the scene show the coffins hanging on by a thread out of their niches. They can potentially fall at any moment, spilling out their departed residents. This forced authorities to cordon off the area.</p>

<p>This happened at a four-storey funerary building called the Chapel of the Resurrection. As per reports dozens of graves have been destroyed.&nbsp;As per a Guardian report quoting Vincenzo Santagada, a Naples councillor "the collapse was preceded by a bang and a dense cloud of dust."&nbsp;</p>

<p>Santagada said that "As an administration, we are taking care of all the necessary formalities."</p>

<p>Families of those buried in the Chapel of the Resurrection held a protest on Tuesday.</p>

<p>As per La Prensa Latina, this is the second such collapse of a cemetery this year. Earlier, on January 5 of this year, another cemetery this one in Poggioreale, which is also the biggest in Naples had suffered a similar accident, which led to the destruction of around 300 graves. The cause of this was a massive ground collapse due to work on a subterranean metro line.</p>

<p>Following the January incident, authorities in Naples Prosecutor's Office had reportedly ordered the closure of the Poggioreale cemetery. An investigation is underway and 20 people are facing an inquiry over their potential involvement in the metro construction work that caused the accident.</p>

<p>Taking to Facebook, Francesco Emilio Borelli, a regional councillor for the Europa Verde party said that these cemeteries have been "left to fend for themselves, falling prey to swindlers and profiteers."</p>

<p>The latest World University Rankings by Times Higher Education show that universities in China are witnessing a rise in their rankings, as they produce greater quantities of high-quality research.</p>

<p>A total of 15.5 million research publications and 121 million citations to those publications are analysed by the organisation for its rankings, along with over 40,000 responses to an annual survey on academic reputation and hundreds of thousands of other data points pertaining to a university's teaching environment, global perspective, and industry connections.</p>

<p>On Monday, Russia launched its biggest aerial assault since the beginning of the war on Ukrainian cities. As per a Reuters report, quoting Ukrainian officials explosions were reported in Kyiv, Lviv, Ternopil and Zhytomyr in western Ukraine, Dnipro and Kremenchuk in the centre, Zaporizhzhia in the south and Kharkiv in the east.</p>

<h2><strong>How often can passwords be cracked?</strong></h2>

<p>Two words answer is 'quite often'. The system successfully cracked around 86 per cent of the passwords when a thermal image was clicked within 20 seconds of typing in the secret code or password.</p>

<p>It even successfully cracked long passwords of around 16 characters. However, the success rate for this was lower at 67 per cent.</p>

<p>Shorter passwords had a higher success rate. Up to 12 characters were guessed right on 82 per cent of the tries, eight characters were cracked right on 93 per cent of attempts and six character codes were successfully worked out 100 per cent.</p>

<p>When the time was increased by 10 seconds and the thermal image was clicked in around 30 seconds the success rate dropped to 76 per cent and a further drop to 62 per cent was seen at 60 seconds of typing.</p>

<h2><strong>How does it work?</strong></h2>

<p>When we touch an object a small part of our body heat is transferred via conduction. Thermal images detect this heat and these areas show up a little bit brighter in the picture.</p>

<p>If a user types in his/her password and leaves the device unguarded, any passerby equipped with a thermal camera can capture an image that reveals the heat signature. This 'thermal attack'&nbsp;can then give away your passwords, codes etc.</p>

<p>Fans of Apple went gaga over the recent 'Far Out'event which introduced to the masses iPhone14 and "futuristic" specifications like its much-touted "Crash Detection" feature.</p>

<p>However, in the next few weeks, several issues have been reported with these specs. The latest as per a Wall Street Journal (WSJ) report casts doubt on the efficacy of the safety feature which is supposed to help emergency services reach users ASAP in case of an accident or crash.</p>

<p>The report details a recent "roller coaster ride" of an incident at an amusement park in Cincinnati.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A woman's iPhone 14 alerted the authorities of a crash as she enjoyed a ride. The phone's new car-crash detection was triggered as she "enjoyed getting hoisted 109 feet in the air and whipped around at over 50 mph".</p>

<p>The phone placed a 911 call to the Warren County Communications Center with an automated voice message which said “The owner of this iPhone was in a severe car crash and is not responding to their phone.”</p>

<p>It also picked up the background audio from the amusement park; hoots, cheers, music and adrenaline-fueled people having fun.</p>

<p>As per the 911 report, an emergency response team was sent to the location but they couldn't locate any emergency. The iPhone user realised the whole thing and called the emergency services back to tell them that she is okay. Ironically she reassured them that she hasn't been in a car crash from the line for 'bumper cars'.</p>

There would be nothing funny about receiving an alert that your loved one has been in a crash, only to discover that they were having fun at a fair or amusement park and just forgot to answer their phone.</p>

<p>This is not to say that the emergency call is placed undetected by the user. The feature uses a combination of sensor data to assess a potential crash. If detected, it shows a message on the screen for ten seconds, following which a ten-second countdown happens, accompanied by an alarm.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Only after this countdown, emergency services are contacted. A message is also sent to your emergency contact.</p>

<p>However, as the incident demonstrates you sometimes forget to check your phone.</p>

<p>In spite of that, there have already been multiple cases where the feature was literally a lifesaver, in one it alerted authorities to a deadly accident where a car crashed into a tree. The crash had no witnesses and without the alert, the user might have perished.</p>

<p>Even if scary or irritating this feature has saved lives and will continue to do so, one can only hope that Apple will soon launch an update fixing this "bug".<br />

<p>The species of frog found in this area, known as the Eastern tree frogs (Hyla Orientalis), typically have bright green skin but now many have sprung up with dark or pigmented skin.</p>

<p>A study published in Evolutionary Applications details the research surrounding these frogs' evolution. Scientists believe that darker skin might help the frogs survive in the exclusion zone.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Germán Orizaola a researcher at the Spain University of Oviedo&nbsp;and a co-author of the study, said that his team became aware of the frogs on their first night in Chernobyl.</p>

<p>"We know that melanin protects from the damage caused by different types of radiation, from UV to ionizing radiation – the kind at Chernobyl," Daily Mail quotes&nbsp;Orizaola as saying.</p>

<p>Orizaola and his co-author&nbsp;Pablo Burraco&nbsp;collected more than 200 male frog specimens from about a dozen different breeding ponds with varying levels of radiation between 2017 and 2019, reports TWC.</p>

<p>However, the most radioactive locations today did not correlate with the darkest frog populations. Although darker frogs were most prominent in the areas that were worst affected at the time of the catastrophe.<br />

After Ukraine-Russia, Elon Musk now has a suggestion on how to end China-Taiwan tensions

<p>A 23-year woman who had survived a terror attack when she was a teenager has died after she chose to be euthanised. Shanti De Corte was plagued by depression and PTSD due to the bomb detonation she witnessed back when she was 17 years old.</p>

<p>On March 22, 2016, as she and her schoolmates were making their way through the departures area of the Belgian airport in Zaventem in preparation for a vacation to Italy, an ISIS bomb went off.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Though Shanti escaped the explosion physically unscathed, mentally she suffered every day since. The ordeal left her psychologically crippled, suffering through frequent panic attacks and bouts of depressive episodes.&nbsp;The troubled young woman is the terror attack's latest and the 33rd victim.</p>

<p>Shanti sought help from a psychiatric facility in her home town of Antwerp and was even put on anti-depressant medications. However, the psychological trauma was too heavy and she attempted suicide twice; once in 2018 and once in 2020.</p>

<p>Euthanasia is legal in Belgium for individuals in "a medically futile condition of constant and unbearable physical or mental suffering that cannot be alleviated, resulting from a serious and incurable disorder caused by illness or accident".</p>

<p>As per RTBF, two psychiatrists approved Shanti's formal request to be euthanised earlier this year.&nbsp;She died on May 7, 2022, however, her story only recently came to light after her mother Marielle spoke to VRT news.&nbsp;'That day really cracked her, she never felt safe after that,' said Shanti's mother.</p>

<p>"With all the medications I take, I feel like a ghost that can't feel anything anymore. Maybe there were other solutions than medications," she wrote.</p>

<p>In a final post, she posted on the day she died, Shanti wrote "I was laughing and crying. Until the last day. I loved and was allowed to feel what true love is. Now I will go away in peace. Know that I miss you already."</p>

<p>As the use of automation in sectors like education, healthcare, and employment witnesses an increase, the White House on Tuesday proposed an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Bill of Rights.</p>

<p>The proposed bill is non-binding and suggests practices that developers and users of AI should voluntarily follow so that technology doesn't unfairly put humans in a disadvantageous position.</p>

The proposed bill is non-binding and suggests practices that developers and users of AI should voluntarily follow so that technology doesn't unfairly put humans in a disadvantageous position. This comes as incidents of algorithms not prioritizing the needs of black patients and those of facial recognition displaying an unfair bias towards darker skin tones came to light. It also asks companies and other stakeholders including government agencies using AI to conduct significant testing and oversight, and publicise results for stakeholders to understand what a "reasonable starting point is" for taking action on issues, said senior administration officials. <p>America's gross national debt has reached an unfortunate high of $31 trillion for the first time ever, revealed a Treasury Department report on Tuesday. The artificial borrowing cap Congress imposed on the US government is progressively getting closer as debt edges closer to the statutory ceiling of $31.4 trillion.</p>

<p>The debt threshold not only spells trouble for the nation's economy but also poses a problem for Joe Biden who will once again be running for President in 2024.&nbsp;</p>

<p>He had promised to reduce US budget deficits i.e., what government earns through tax revenue vs the money it spends by $1 trillion over a decade. However, as per estimates by the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget estimates, his policies have added nearly $5 trillion to the deficit since he took office in 2020.&nbsp;</p>

<p>To combat the pandemic and finance tax cuts the government undertook record levels of borrowings, which due to the higher rates are making America's debt costly over time.</p>

<p>As per estimates by the Peterson Foundation, higher rates could add around one trillion dollars to US federal government's interest payments this decade. Additionally, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) May forecast&nbsp;that debt costs would reach a record $8.1 trillion.</p>

<p>If interest rates on the nation's debt increase by just one percentage point beyond what the CBO forecasts over the next few years, interest payments might surpass United States' national defence expenditure by 2029, reports the New York Times.</p>
