"Upon entering the flat, the body of the woman was found in the almirah of a room. The crime scene was inspected by the crime team and FSL," said a senior police officer.&nbsp;

The deceased's father was also present at the spot.&nbsp;

The police cited his last call with the woman, in which she apparently claimed that her partner used to beat her up and she was afraid she could be murdered.&nbsp;

The father also told the police that his daughter had been living in the rented flat with Tailor for the past one and a half months.&nbsp;

The officer said, "Efforts are underway to locate the accused, Vipal Tailor, who is a native of Surat in Gujarat. Based on the statement of the complainant, a case under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered against the accused."&nbsp;

The officer also said that police teams are also scanning CCTV cameras in the area to find out the crime sequence.&nbsp;

Doherty said that the police would allege in court that there was “some type of relationship at some stage” between the NSW officer and the TV presenter. The relationship, according to the police, “did not end well”.&nbsp;

The police believe that the pair was&nbsp;killed on February 19 in Baird’s inner-city home in Paddington and that the two “surf bags” had been used to transport the deceased couple in a white van to the rural property where the bodies were found.&nbsp;

The matter came to light only after Mahesh’s brother registered a missing complaint with the authorities.&nbsp;

Police found the body on September 2 and opened an investigation, which eventually led them to the murder plot set in place by his junior colleague.

The father, stepmother and uncle of 10-year-old, Sara Sharif, have been charged with murder, said the United Kingdom’s Surrey Police, on Friday (September 15). This comes&nbsp;after the British police arrested Sara Sharif’s father Urfan Sharif (41), stepmother Beinash Batool (29), and her father’s brother Faisal Malik (28) on Wednesday upon their arrival after being on the run for a month in Pakistan.

Sara was found dead at her home in the southern United Kingdom town of Woking, Surrey on August 10 &nbsp;– a day after the couple fled Britain. Since then, the Surrey Police have been after the girl’s parents in relation to a murder investigation.

A post-mortem test revealed that the 10-year-old had sustained “multiple and extensive injuries” over a “sustained and extended” period of time.&nbsp;

<h2>Charges against the trio</h2>

In a statement, the Surrey police said that the trio has also been charged with causing or allowing the death of a child. They were arrested on Wednesday (Sep 13) from London’s Gatwick Airport, said the British police, after the three adults along with five children had been hiding in Pakistan since August 9.&nbsp;

All three have been remanded in custody to appear at Guildford Magistrate’s Court later Friday (Sep 15), said the police. It added, “Sara’s mother has been informed of this latest development and is being supported by specialist officers.”

<h2>About the case</h2>

Last month, Urfan arrived in Pakistan and called 999 in the UK to report that his daughter was dead at his home in Woking after which the couple, five other children, aged between one and 13, and his brother, Faisal Malik, 28, went underground.&nbsp;

The arrests came days after Sara’s father and stepmother released a video claiming they are willing to cooperate with British authorities.&nbsp;

“Two men, aged 41 years and 28 years, and a woman aged 29 years were arrested on suspicion of murder after disembarking a flight from Dubai,” the Surrey police said on Wednesday.&nbsp;

<h2>Five children placed in Pakistan govt childcare facility</h2>

It was previously believed that Urfan’s five other children, aged between one and 13, were with the trio but it was not until Monday (Sep 11) that the children were recovered from Urfan’s father, Muhammad Sharif’s home, in the northern city of Jhelum in Pakistan by the country’s police.&nbsp;

Muhammad said he had been hiding the children in his home in Jhelum since their arrival on August 10. Earlier this week, a judge in Pakistan ruled that Sara’s five siblings should temporarily be sent to a Pakistan government childcare centre.&nbsp;

However, the ruling did not mention how long they would be kept in the government facility or where they would ultimately be sent.&nbsp;

Lori Vallow Daybell was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for murdering her two children and conspiring to kill her husband’s ex-wife—a case that dominated the headlines four years ago, leading many to dub Lori as ‘doomsday mom’.

In May, she was found guilty by the jury on all three charges.

According to the US prosecutors, the 50-year-old woman became obsessed with a religious apocalypse and believed that her children must be wiped off so that they could go to heaven.

It was further argued that Lori, who hails from Idaho, believed her children were zombies and that she was a goddess sent to usher in the Biblical apocalypse.

<h2>Judge hands three life sentences </h2>

On Monday (July 31), Lori was given three life sentences for killing her children—16-year-old Tylee Ryan and 7-year-old Joshua “JJ” Vallow—and for the conspiracy to commit murder in the death of Tammy Daybell, the first wife of her husband, Chad Daybell.

She will serve these charges consecutively, Judge Steven W Boyce ruled, with two additional life sentences and a sentence of 10 years for grand theft to be served concurrently, reports CNN.

While handing out the sentence, Judge Boyce said that the defendant’s lack of a prior criminal record was the “single most mitigating factor” in the case.

He said that she had shown no remorse despite getting convicted of “the most serious charges”.

“Murder is the most serious offence, and the most unimaginable type of murder is to have a mother murdering her own children, and that’s exactly what you did,” he said, addressing Lori.

“You were involved in and guilty of conspiring to murder … Tammy Daybell, who had children of her own. And despite the jury convicting you with overwhelming evidence, you still sit here before the court today and said you didn’t do it.”

<h2>What did Lori say?</h2>

During the hearing on Monday, Lori denied killing her children and continued to justify her actions by quoting religious texts and beliefs.

She claimed to have spoken to Jesus, her children and her husband’s wife after their deaths and said they were “happy and extremely busy” in heaven.

“Jesus Christ knows that no one was murdered in this case,” Lori said, adding, “Accidental deaths happen, suicides happen, fatal side effects from medications happen.”

To which the judge responded, “I don’t believe that any God in any religion would want to have this happen.”

The children went missing in September 2019, and Tammy Daybell died the following month. Lori and Chad, who was her lover, married just weeks later.

In June 2020, law enforcement authorities discovered the remains of Tylee and JJ in Daybell’s backyard in Fremont County.

Chad will be tried separately in April 2024 on two felony counts of conspiracy to commit destruction; alteration or concealment of evidence; and two felony counts of destruction, alteration or concealment of evidence. He has pleaded not guilty.

Felix entered the Aeronics office at around 4 PM today, armed with a sword and a knife. He stabbed Phanindra Subramanya and Vinu Kumar before fleeing the scene. The police have initiated an investigation to apprehend the absconding suspect.

The United Kingdom’s Metropolitan Police, on Monday (June 26) named a major suspect in the decades-old investigation of the Stephen Lawrence murder and admitted making too many mistakes in the initial investigation. The name of the new suspect emerged following a BBC investigation which found that the Met police “seriously mishandled key inquiries” related to Matthew White, which the report said was central to the case.&nbsp;

<h2>What is the case about?</h2>

Stephen Lawrence, a Black teenager was murdered in a reportedly racially motivated attack in south-east London in April 1993. It is said to be the UK’s most notorious racist killing while the failure of the first police investigation also&nbsp;prompted a public inquiry into the Met police which found that they were institutionally racist.&nbsp;

During the inquiry in 1999, the Met Police were branded institutionally racist for their bungling of a high-profile racially motivated killing of a black teenager. An inquiry into the police investigation found that it had been “marred by a combination of professional incompetence, institutional racism and a failure of leadership”.

Lawrence, who was 18 at the time, is said to have been stabbed to death by a “gang of young white men,” as per BBC. The UK-based media outlet also reported that the five prime suspects became widely known after the murder while the public inquiry said there were “five or six” attackers.&nbsp;

The newly named suspect, Matthew White, was publicly named in 2011 for the first time at the trial of David Norris and Gary Dobson. The duo had been given life sentences for Lawrence’s murder in 2012, while the other three suspects – Luke Knight and brothers Neil and Jamie Acourt were, acquitted.&nbsp;

In 2020, Commissioner Cressida Dick declared the case “inactive” and said that all identified lines of inquiry had been followed while assuring&nbsp;Lawrence’s family that the police would investigate any new information.

<h2>Who is Matthew White and what did the investigation find?</h2>

Matthew White is now the sixth suspect named following the BBC investigation. White, who died in August 2021, at the age of 50, first appeared on the police radar after he was presented&nbsp;as a witness related to the case for Norris and Dobson in 2011.&nbsp;

The new investigation by BBC finds that White was central to the case. Initially, he was known as Witness K and was granted an alias despite never really cooperating with police said the UK-based media outlet.&nbsp;

Additionally, a relative of White had also tried to speak to the Met after the murder but wrong information was entered into the police database and the lead was not followed, said the media report. BBC’s investigation also found that when the relative was eventually traced by the police 20 years later,&nbsp;the relative said that White had admitted to being present during the attack.&nbsp;

This was in addition to another witness back in 2000 who reportedly said that White had admitted to being a part of the attack. The media report citing evidence also said that White’s alibi was false and that police surveillance photos of White showed a resemblance to witness accounts of an unidentified fair-haired attacker. &nbsp;

<h2>‘Too many mistakes’: Met police about their investigation</h2>

In a statement to BBC, Deputy Assistant Commissioner Matt Ward, said, “Unfortunately, too many mistakes were made in the initial investigation.” This comes after the UK police took the almost unprecedented step of naming White as a suspect following the media report. It added, “The impact of them continues to be seen.”&nbsp;

<h2>Lawrence’s parents fume at Met Police over recent findings</h2>

In a statement to the UK-based media outlet, Stephen’s mother, Baroness Doreen Lawrence called for “serious sanctions” against police officers who were investigating White after the BBC released its findings. She added, “Only when police officers lose their jobs can the public have confidence that failure and incompetence will not be tolerated and that change will happen.”&nbsp;

Similarly, his father, Dr Neville Lawrence told the BBC, “They must be able to find a decent police force who could investigate.”&nbsp;

This was in addition to another witness back in 2000 who reportedly said that White had admitted to being a part of the attack. The media report citing evidence also said that White’s alibi was false and that police surveillance photos of White showed a resemblance to witness accounts of an unidentified fair-haired attacker. ‘Too many mistakes’: Met police about their investigation In a statement to BBC, Deputy Assistant Commissioner Matt Ward, said, “Unfortunately, too many mistakes were made in the initial investigation.” This comes after the UK police took the almost unprecedented step of naming White as a suspect following the media report. The development means that he cannot be arrested over these charges for the next 14 days, his lawyer told Reuters. The former premier was earlier arrested on May 9 and was held for three days. This had triggered violent protests by his followers across Pakistan. He has now got bail in a range of criminal cases.

Gohar Khan, the lawyer of Imran Khan said that the former PM travelled to Islamabad from his Lahore home to seek bail in the lawyer's murder case and also to extend his bail in over a dozen other cases in order to avoid a fresh arrest.

Since his release from the jail, new charges against Imran Khan have been piling up. On Wednesday, he was formally named by police in connection with the murder of a lawyer. The lawyer was seeking sedition proceedings against Imran Khan. The lawyer was gunned down on the way to court by two gunmen who came on a motorbike.

Khan says he is facing nearly 150 cases and denies guilt in all of them.

Pakistan: Imran Khan gets bail from Islamabad high court in lawyer’s murder case

Indian gangster-turned-politician and the former legislator in the Uttar Pradesh assembly, Mukhtar Ansari, was on Saturday convicted by a Ghazipur&nbsp;court in a Gangster Act case filed after the kidnapping and murder of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Krishnanand Rai.

The jailed mafia don, who was produced virtually before a special court for MP/MLA, was also fined Rs 500,000 (approx. US $6116) and handed a 10-year prison sentence.

This is the fourth case in which the five-time MLA, who is&nbsp;lodged in the Banda district jail,&nbsp;has been convicted.

Mukhtar Ansari's elder brother and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Member of Parliament (MP) Afzal Ansari,&nbsp;too, was convicted in the case and was sentenced to four years in prison and fined Rs 100,000 (US$1,223 approx.). Following his conviction, Afzal will lose his membership of&nbsp;the parliament.

“I believe in the judiciary, mafia rule in UP has ended," said Alka Rai, wife of late BJP MLA Krishnanand Rai, while talking to&nbsp;reporters ahead of the judgment.

Ansari is the second gangster-turned-politician to have been convicted for his crimes after the now-deceased gangster-politician&nbsp;Atiq Ahmad and his brother Ashraf Ahmad.

BJP MLA Krishnanand Rai was murdered by gangster-politician Mukhtar Ansari and his brother Afzal Ansari in 2005 while he had gone to his native village for attending a family wedding.

He was informed of death threats by the Special Task Force officers, that serial killers have been hired by Mukhtar Ansari to eliminate him.

The incident took place when was ambushed on his way back home by assailants who used automatic rifles. At that time, he did not use his bullet-proof vehicle or guards. Seven people died in that incident.

In jail since 2005

Ansari, who has 61 cases registered against him, has been in jail since 2005 after he surrendered in a communal riot case in Mau district in which seven people died. He contested from the Mau Sadar constituency seat five times—twice as a BSP candidate and thrice as an Independent—and won comfortably.

In the last assembly election, Ansari stepped down and fielded his elder son Abbas from the same Mau Sadar seat on the ticket of Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP), which had allied with the&nbsp;Samajwadi Party&nbsp;for the polls.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.&nbsp;

The attacker, Hecko then fled the house immediately and was arrested at 7:40 BST after he turned up at the police cordon having drunk two bottles of wine, telling one police officer that he know everything. In a statement released after the verdict, Ellingford’s wife Laura described him as her “amazing husband of 17 years” and a “truly brilliant” father to their children aged 10 and 12.&nbsp;

Det Ch Insp Louise Metcalfe said, "This was a senseless attack on Adrian" which has left two children without a father. "I hope that they can move forward and find some closure now that Hecko is behind bars", he said.&nbsp;

Ellingford's wife read out a victim's personal statement in court and described him as an "amazing husband, loving son, a caring brother, a friend to many and most importantly a truly brilliant father".

What adds to the shock value of this case is the fact that after murdering his girlfriend, the man married another woman the same day. A magistrate has now sent Gehlot to five days of police custody. As per an IANS report, Gehlot murdered Yadav around the Kashmiri Gate bus stand area and then drove her body some 36 kilometres to his eatery, which is located on the outskirts of Delhi's Mitraon village.

The police reportedly on February 10th got a tip-off that a man by the name of Sahil Gehlot has killed his girlfriend, before marrying another on the day of the murder.

As per Special Commissioner of Police, Crime, Ravindra Singh Yadav, when a police team reached Mitraon village, Gehlot was nowhere to be found. In addition, his phone was switched off.&nbsp;However, they managed to nab him at the Kair village crossing.&nbsp;

The Nepalese Supreme Court, on Wednesday (December 20), ordered the release of French serial killer and conman, Charles Sobhraj, who is serving his time in prison in Nepal after being convicted for the murder of two North American tourists in the country.&nbsp;According to the media reports, the court has ordered that the 78-year-old be released if there are no pending cases against him after which he has to be deported to France within 15 days. In the early 1970s, he began travelling the world and befriending and reportedly, robbing western tourists who were on the so-called “hippie trail” from Europe to Southeast Asia. He would allegedly spike people’s drinks and kill their accomplices who were usually women. In the 1970s and the 1980s, the police suspected he killed at least 15 to 20 people.&nbsp;

In the mid-1970s, Thailand issued a warrant for his arrest and accused him of drugging and killing at least six women who wore bikinis on a beach in Pattaya. Hence, earning himself the moniker of the “bikini killer”. However, he could not be convicted on those charges since he was imprisoned in India.&nbsp;

In an interview with AFP, last year, Nadine Gires, who Sobhraj had befriended when he moved into her building in Bangkok in 1975, said, “Many people were getting sick in his home…He was not only a swindler, a seducer, a robber of tourists, but an evil murderer.”&nbsp;

This comes after she had soon begun to fear that her fast-talking neighbour who she said masqueraded as a gemstone trader was allegedly drugging, robbing and killing people. Notably, multiple reports suggest, this was Sobhraj’s modus operandi, he would charm and befriend backpackers and after killing them would allegedly also use their passports to travel to his next destination.&nbsp;

Arrest in India

Another moniker he earned over time was “The Serpent”, as he was arrested multiple times, in several countries but was able to evade or bribe his way out or get preferential treatment in prisons. In 1976, Sobhraj was arrested in India, after he and his three accomplices allegedly convinced some French students to hire them as guides and subsequently gave them pills laced&nbsp;with poison.&nbsp;

He was later convicted and sentenced to overall 21 years in prison. However, toward the end of Sobhraj’s sentence, he escaped from the high-security Tihar jail after giving prison guards sweets spiked with drugs for his “birthday” in 1986. He was caught after some 20 days in the Indian state of Goa and returned to jail until 1997.&nbsp;After his sentence, Sobhraj was sent back to Paris.&nbsp;

Notably, a report by BBC citing critics&nbsp;alleges that he&nbsp;deliberately escaped towards the end of his 10-year sentence so that he could be re-captured and face additional charges to avoid extradition to Thailand.

How did he end up in Nepal?

In 2003, he resurfaced and was arrested in a casino in Nepal’s capital city, Kathmandu and was subsequently convicted for the murder of American backpacker Connie Jo Bronzich which he allegedly committed in 1975. According to reports, Bronzich’s body was found in a wheat field near the capital city, however, Sobhraj denied these allegations, while his lawyers said that the charge against him was based on an assumption.&nbsp;

Several years later, he was also convicted of killing Bronzich's Canadian friend, Laurent Carriere and has been in Kathmandu’s Central Jail since. In 2008, Sobhraj married Nihita Biswas, who is reportedly 44 years his junior and the daughter of his Nepalese lawyer. &nbsp;

After serving 19 years out of his 20-year sentence, on Wednesday, the apex court of Nepal led by the bench of Justices Sapana Pradhan Malla and Til Prasad Shrestha, said that he should be released because of his age as well as health conditions. In 2017, Sobhraj also underwent open-heart surgery

“Keeping him in the prison continuously is not in line with the prisoner’s human rights,” said a copy of the verdict, seen by AFP. It added, “If there is not any other pending cases against him to keep him in the prison, this court orders his release by today and … the return to his country within 15 days.”&nbsp;

“The regulation on prison management envisions a waiver of up to 75 per cent of the jail term of the prisoners over 65 years of age and with good conduct,” reads the verdict as quoted by The Kathmandu Post. This was done citing&nbsp;provisions of Clause 12 (1) of the Senior Citizens Act 2063. According to a part of the&nbsp;clause that says&nbsp;senior citizens can get a waiver of a sentence not exceeding 75 per cent of those who have completed 75 years of age.&nbsp;

Sobhraj's story has arguably intrigued many, last year, BBC and Netflix jointly produced an eight-episode&nbsp;mini-series based on his life&nbsp;named after named his moniker' The Serpent'. This was in addition to at least three books written about his life including, "Life and Crimes of Charles Sobhraj" (1979), "On the Trail of the Serpent: The Epic Hunt for the Bikini Killer" (2021), and so on.&nbsp;

The former teacher has denied all these allegations and said that his wife had left him at that time.&nbsp;

Dawson's attorney said that he intends to challenge the verdict. On Friday (Dec 01) he said, "Our system of justice and our democracy is based upon the presumption of innocence." He added Dawson maintains his 'innocence.'

Amid the ongoing investigation of the gruesome murder of Shraddha Vikas Walker in India’s capital Delhi, the police found a trail of Instagram chats and bank payments planted by the accused, Aaftab Amin Poonawala which helped them crack the case. The 26-year-old Walker was allegedly strangled to death by Poonawala, who then chopped her body into 35 pieces and disposed them off at night over a period of time.&nbsp;

A further probe into the case shows that a digital trail was reportedly created by the accused to make it seem as though the victim skipped town on her own, which was in line with his previous account to the police. According to the reports, he had initially told them that Shraddha had left the house they shared in Delhi after their fight on May 22 with only her mobile phone.&nbsp;

But following the interrogation, Aaftab later admitted that on May 18, after an argument,&nbsp;he strangled Shraddha and dismembered her body into 35&nbsp;pieces to dispose it off easily without arousing suspicion. He also confessed that after “chopping the body”, he “washed the blood and stuffed the pieces in plastic bags&nbsp;and then kept them in the fridge”.

Subsequently, over the span of two to three months the accused scattered the body pieces in the city’s Mehrauli forest and surrounding areas, said media reports. Reportedly the accused also&nbsp;said that he was “inspired” by the American crime show ‘Dexter’, in which the protagonist is a forensics expert who leads a double life as a serial killer.&nbsp; 
 
How Aaftab’s digital footprint led the police to refute his lies

Notably, it was the slew of aforementioned digital footprints that Poonawala had created that led the police to a major breakthrough in the case, reports ANI. Based on the previous account, the police tracked Walker’s phone including call details and signal location. They found that between May 22 and 26 at least Rs. 54,000 ($ 664) had been transferred from&nbsp; Walker's account to Poonawala's which he reportedly did by using the banking app on her phone, contradicting his statement that he had not been in touch with her since May 22.&nbsp;

When questioned by the police again, the accused reportedly admitted that he had made the transfers since he had access to her passwords and also had been paying her credit card bills to bank so they would not go to her Mumbai address. Reports citing police sources said that the bank transfer location was in the Mehrauli forest area of Delhi. &nbsp;&nbsp;

Additionally, the police also found a chat from Shraddha's Instagram account on May 31 and the location of which was also traced to Mehrauli. Therefore, the officers in Vasai, near Maharashtra’s Palghar district where Walker hails from, contacted the Delhi police who detained him again for questioning. He was asked if she had in fact left her phone at their apartment in Delhi after which Aaftab revealed the truth that he had killed her on May 18.&nbsp;

In 2019, Poonawala and Walker met in Mumbai and started dating.&nbsp;However, her family did not approve&nbsp;of their interfaith relationship after which they were in a live-in relationship for three years and moved to Delhi in the first week of May. The victim’s father had come to Delhi after Shraddha’s friend had said that her phone had been switched off for weeks back in September.&nbsp;

Recent developments in the case

So far, the accused has led the police to at least 10 of the nearly 35 pieces of the victim’s body that he had thrown in the forest. Furthermore, a report by Times Now citing the Delhi police claims that the money Aaftab reportedly transferred from Shraddha's account to his own was used to buy a fridge in which he kept the chopped body parts.&nbsp;

Recent reports say that Poonawala’s family is now at an unknown location and is untraceable after they left their house in Mumbai a week ago and Aaftab was there to help during the move. “Aaftab Poonawala was called twice for questioning, once last month and the second time on November 3,” said the Maharashtra police. However, at the time he had said that she left and “they do not live together” anymore. Subsequently, whenever he was called for questioning he never “showed restlessness or nervousness on his face”, said the police.&nbsp;

The police also told ANI that they will request a mental and psychological assessment which will help them verify if he is saying the truth and “understand his mental state” given the multiple discrepancies in his statement. Meanwhile, the Delhi police had also applied for a narco test of the accused the permission for which is yet to be granted by the court.

From Mumbai to Delhi

Media reports suggest that Poonawala and Walker met in Mumbai and started dating soon after, however, her family had not approved of their inter-faith relationship. Subsequently, they moved to Delhi in the first week of May and were living at a friend’s house before renting an apartment in south Delhi’s Chhattarpur area, a police source told Hindustan Times.&nbsp;

“The two met on a dating app in Mumbai. They were in a live-in relationship for three years and had shifted to Delhi,” Ankit Chauhan, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of South Delhi told ANI news agency. Soon after, Walker reportedly began pressuring Poonawala for marriage when their relationship became tense which led to frequent fights, Aaftab said during the interrogation.

On May 18, following an argument, Poonawala allegedly strangled Walker and dismembered her in order to dispose off the body. According to his disclosure statement shared by the police with media, “Poonawala revealed that Walker said something offensive, which left him enraged. The couple had a scuffle in the bedroom. He claims that he pushed Walker on the bed, sat on her chest and choked her, due to which she died.” &nbsp;

The alleged murder and gruesome details&nbsp;

The accused had allegedly bought a 300-litre fridge to keep the victim's body in at least 35 pieces. According to police sources cited in media, Poonawala was a trained chef from a private institute in Mumbai where he was also reportedly trained in cutting meat. It supposedly took him two days to cut Walker’s body and Poonawala claims that he did it with a hacksaw with multiple blades.&nbsp;

However, the police are yet to recover the tool allegedly used to commit the crime. Furthermore, the accused claims that after “chopping the body”, he “washed the blood from them and stuffed them in some plastic bags.” Reportedly, all these plastic bags were then kept in the fridge. &nbsp;&nbsp;

The 28-year-old would then step out of the house around 2 am to dispose off the victim’s body one part at a time in the Mehrauli forest and surrounding areas, said media reports. The police reportedly said that during this time, Poonawala would burn incense sticks to keep the foul smell away and wipe the floor with detergent. &nbsp;

“After almost two three months, he discarded the head and the torso,” said a police officer to the Indian Express. Meanwhile, the accused reportedly had also researched human anatomy, Googled ways to clean human blood from the floor with some chemicals, and disposed off the stained clothes.&nbsp;

The local police have also claimed that the accused disclosed that weeks after the alleged murder he became active on the dating app Bumble through which he had met Walker, and even started dating another girl and had even visited the apartment where Walker had allegedly been killed.&nbsp;

How it all unravelled

The arrest was made after Walker’s father, Vikash Madan Walker, was led to Delhi from Maharashtra’s Palghar district after lodging a missing person complaint in Mumbai. During the interrogation, Aaftab reportedly confessed to the crime and the police had also recovered some bones from their rented apartment in Delhi.&nbsp;

Walker’s father had come to Delhi after Shraddha’s friend had said that her phone had been switched off for weeks back in September, according to media reports. On November 8, Vikas Madan lodged a complaint at the Mehrauli police station after which the police filed a case of murder and got five-day custody of the accused who eventually confessed.&nbsp;

The Delhi police might also write to the US-based dating app seeking details about the accused as well as the women who visited while the victim’s “body was still in the refrigerator,” said a report by ANI.

The police have reportedly recovered at least 12 suspected human body parts allegedly disposed off by Aaftab and have sent them for further analysis.&nbsp;

Delhi police has finally solved a six-month-old case of a missing girl and as the investigations dig deeper, bone chilling details of a brutal murder have emerged.

Detectives from the Vermont State Police were able to make an arrest in the 1989 slaying of a Danby couple who were discovered stabbed to death in their home, thanks to a drop of blood that was exposed to cutting-edge DNA testing, according to police.

According to authorities, Michael Anthony Louise, 79, was detained on Thursday in Syracuse, New York, on two counts of second-degree murder in the deaths of George Peacock, 76, and Catherine Peacock, 73.

The Peacocks were discovered dead on September 17, 1989. There were no indications that the home had been broken into forcibly or that anything of value had been taken.

About two weeks later, Louise, who was married&nbsp;to one of the Peacocks' daughters, was named as a suspect. Circumstantial evidence was gathered at the time by investigators linking Louise to the murders, according to the police.

Until forensic tests in May 2020 established a DNA match to George Peacock in a spot of blood found inside Louise's car in October 1989, detectives were unable to make a solid connection.&nbsp; 
 
The blood sample had previously undergone <a href="https://www.wionews.com/videos/india-fires-ballistic-missile-from-ins-arihant-indias-first-home-made-nuclear-submarine-525573">testing</a>, but the results were inconclusive, according to the release. Advances in forensic technology over the past decades allowed investigators to match the blood to George, police said.

Authorities could not provide an explanation for why it took two years to make an arrest after a DNA match, but they did state that more details would be provided after Louise is arraigned.

If Louise has a lawyer, it was not immediately known. When he will be brought back to Vermont to answer the charges is also not yet known.

The case at hand is the horrifying murder of 26-year-old Pennsylvania resident Anna Kane, who was strangled to death with a rope, with her body left to rot in a wooded area close to Hamburg in October 1988.

Her body was found on Oct. 23, 1988, along Ontelaunee Trail in Perry Township.

Thanks to cutting-edge DNA genetic genealogy research, her killer has been identified as Scott Grim, Pennsylvania State Police and Berks County District Attorney John Adams announced at a news conference.

According to a recent article in the Eagle, the murderer Grimm passed away at the age of 58 from natural causes in 2018.

On Thursday, as per NBC News, at the news conference, state police commended the detectives who looked into Kane's murder in 1988, stating that they kept up a "solid foundation" of physical evidence that was crucial to identifying Grimm.

A 70-year-old man in Nevada has been accused of the 1982 murder case of a 5-year-old girl who vanished while making her way to her kindergarten. According to Pacioni, Lanoue was charged with one count of first-degree murder along with special circumstance accusations that he milled the girl while engaging in kidnapping and lewd acts on a minor.&nbsp;

According to Attorney Pacioni, investigators in California were able to secure a warrant for Lanoue’s arrest on July 6. Records showed that the man was already incarcerated in the Washoe County jail when he was arrested on June 8 for a parole violation.&nbsp;

The District Attorney's office in New York's Westchester County said that a complaint charging the 78-year-old Durst with the murder of Kathleen Durst had been filed on Tuesday.

Kathleen Durst disappeared in January 1982. Her body has never been found. She was 29 years old at the time.

Durst, an estranged member of one of New York's wealthiest real estate dynasties, was sentenced to life in prison in California last week for the 2000 murder of his friend Susan Berman to keep her from talking to police about his wife's disappearance. &nbsp;

A multi-millionaire, Durst was the subject of an explosive HBO documentary entitled "The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst."

In its stunning finale, Durst is heard muttering to himself, "Killed them all, of course" -- apparently unaware that a microphone he was wearing during the recording of that episode remained switched on while he was using the restroom.

The docuseries also delved into the 2001 death of Durst's neighbor in Texas, Morris Black, who was found dismembered.&nbsp;

Durst claimed the killing was self-defense. He was acquitted.
