With its first significant update to the social media network, Twitter formally released an update of its app on the Apple App Store on Saturday. The newly released update offers users the highly coveted blue check verification mark for $8.

According to Reuters, users of Apple iOS devices can now acquire the blue checkmark next to their usernames by paying $7.99 a month, which will qualify them for the verification mark "just like the celebrities, companies and politicians you already follow."

The police added that there was nothing to suggest that the attacker was working alongside someone else and that there is not "believed to be any wider threat to the public."

As recent months witness a deterioration in regional relations in central Africa, DRC Foreign Minister Christophe Lutundula met with his Rwandan counterpart Vincent Biruta met in Angola on Saturday in the latest attempt to defuse tensions between the neighbouring nations.

The meeting takes place in the midst of conflict in the eastern DRC between a rebel militia organisation called M23 and the Congolese army, with rebels recently taking large portions of fresh territory.

The accusations have been consistently refuted by Kigali, which has led to a deterioration in its relations with its neighbour Kinshasa.&nbsp;At the end of the previous month, the DRC had even dismissed the ambassador of Rwanda and called back its own representative from Kigali.

UK PM Sunak takes a 'screeching U-turn,' announces he will attend COP27 after all

The Meta-owned company, Whatsapp,&nbsp;recently announced that it has banned nearly 2.6 million accounts in the month of September using its abuse detection approach. It further added that nearly 800K users were banned before any reports from users.&nbsp;

These accounts were banned between September 1, 2022, to September 31, 2022. The company further added that it received complaints for 666 accounts out of which 495 were for ban appeal, and it banned 23 of the accounts.&nbsp;

Reportedly, the largest energy producer in the nation, Jera Co., will also restart several of its thermal plant units to assist in alleviating the anticipated shortage this winter.

Shanghai's Disneyland in a statement on Saturday (October 29) announced that it will operate at a reduced capacity to comply with Covid regulations, giving a hint of tightening controls across China as it attempts to stop the spread of the virus amongst people.&nbsp;

As per sources posted on the official website of the amusement park, it will impose a temporary reduction in staff members and will affect how several rides, restaurants, and various retail facilities operate.

The Islamabad police on Saturday (October 29), forbade hotels and guesthouses from accommodating long march participants led by former PM Imran Khan to pressurise administration for early general elections.

The police in its statement further continued that those who disobey will face harsh punishment.&nbsp;

The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has directed television&nbsp;networks to not broadcast any speeches by PTI leaders or the long march. It further stated in its statement that failure to comply with the rule would result in legal action and could even result in licence suspensions, PTI reported.&nbsp;

The protest, according to Khan, 70 is intended to compel the administration to call for early elections to gain the truth. He vowed to maintain peace and avoid the highly secure Red Zone. He had requested permission to organise a rally, but it has not yet been granted.

Since there are concerns that violence might break out if the marchers are forcibly blocked from entering the city, the administration has implemented extensive security measures to handle the issue.&nbsp;

He further added that he does not want any involvement of the army and just wants the elections to be held.&nbsp;
