We take this matter very seriously and are taking legal action against the parties responsible for creating the set and including unapproved items for our Spring 23 campaign photoshoot. We strongly condemn the abuse of children in any form. We stand for children’s safety and well-being,” the statement read.</p>

<p>Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu, who was last seen in Prakash Raj directorial 'Tadka' and Anurag Kashyap directorial 'Dobaaraa', is all set to impress fans as Gayatri in the upcoming murder mystery thriller film titled 'Blurr'.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Directed by Ajay Bahl, the film also features Gulshan Devaiah in a lead role. It&nbsp;is backed by Zee Studios and is written by Bahl and Pawan Sony. The film also marks Pannu's debut as a producer.</p>

<p>Recently, the actress shared a teaser of her upcoming OTT film and expressed excitement as it neared its release date. In the caption, she wrote, "Get ready to witness her world through her eyes."</p>

<p>The teaser opens with Taapsee trying to navigate her way with blurred vision.&nbsp;She is seen calling&nbsp;someone and yearning&nbsp;for his attention as the camera moves around a house. But nobody answers her calls. The video ends with a scream.&nbsp;</p>

'Blurr' teaser: Taapsee Pannu's intriguing murder mystery looks intense

<p>Bollywood actor Jacqueline Fernandez recorded her statement with Delhi Police's Economic Offences Wing (EOW) in court on Saturday after she came up with some important information in connection with the Rs 200 crore fraud case involving jailed conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar.</p>

<p>Her statement was recorded under Section 164 (recording of confessions and statements) of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC).</p>

<p>On Thursday, the Patiala House court deferred the hearing in the money laundering case involving Jacqueline and multi-millionaire conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar till December 12.</p>

<p>Earlier, on November 15, the court had granted pre-arrest bail to Jacqueline.</p>

<p>The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had recently filed its second supplementary charge sheet naming Jacqueline as an accused. On September 26, the court granted interim protection from arrest to her.</p>

<p>Jacqueline and another Bollywood personality, Nora Fatehi, have recorded their statements as witnesses in the case.</p>

<p>Earlier, assets and fixed deposits worth Rs 7.2 crore belonging to Jacqueline were attached by the ED. The probe agency termed these gifts and properties as "proceeds" of crime received by the actor.</p>

<p>In February, the ED filed its first supplementary charge sheet against Pinky Irani, an alleged aide of Chandrashekhar, who introduced him to Bollywood actors.</p>

<p>It had been alleged in the charge sheet that Pinky used to choose expensive gifts for Jacqueline and drop them at her residence after Chandrashekhar made the payments.</p>

<p>Last December, the probe agency filed the first charge sheet in this matter.</p>

<p>As per official sources, Chandrashekhar has spent around Rs 20 crore on different models and Bollywood celebrities. A few had refused to accept gifts from him.</p>

Jacqueline Fernandez records 'important' statement in Sukesh Chandrashekhar extortion case

<p>Italian artist AleXsandro Palombo, who is known for transforming 'The Simpsons' in his art, recently vowed to take legal action against Cardi B for recreating his work for Halloween. He claimed that the 'WAP' rapper was never authorised to use or recreate his art for her October 31 Instagram post, in which she is dressed as Marge Simpson in a cutout outfit that exposed her butt cleavage.</p>

<p>Palombo's claims come days after Cardi B, whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, did not mention the contemporary pop artist&nbsp;in her post but used a picture of his art. However, she did mention French designer Thierry Mugler, the designer whose dress inspired Palombo's work.</p>

<p>In an Instagram post, Palombo wrote that he contacted Cardi B but he did not receive a reply. <p>All&nbsp;the circumstances, at the time, made him retreat completely into a shell and he eventually decided to quit Twitter. As a result of all the negativity in his life, he even went to rehab thrice to get his life back on track. Around the same time, he also suffered a heart attack and had to take a break to focus on his health.</p>

<p>Recalling the time when he spoke against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) and went to Jamia Millia Islamia University to take part in anti-CAA protests, Anurag said, "This was the time I went off Twitter because my daughter started getting trolled, getting rape threats and she started getting anxiety attacks… So, I went off Twitter in August 2019 and I went to Portugal. I was shooting this (Almost Pyaar With DJ Mohabbat) in London and then, when the whole Jamia Millia thing happened, I came back to India. I was like, ‘yeh mujh se bardaaasht nahin ho raha hai, koi kuchh bol nahin raha hai (I can’t bear it that no one is speaking up)’. I started speaking (on Twitter) again."</p>

<p>Kashyap, who underwent an angioplasty last year, also spoke about recuperating and returning to films after a brief break due to his health concerns. He said, "Unlike other people, I don’t have the luxury to sit and wait.” He added that he does not direct massive projects that can sustain him and his crew for a long time.</p>

<p>His family tweeted that his "life is at serious risk right now" as he faced charges of "enmity against God" and "corruption on earth" -- sharia-related charges that are capital crimes in the Islamic republic.</p>

<p>Salehi had disappeared at the end of October before appearing in a video published on November 2 by Iran's state-run media.&nbsp;The video claimed to show the first images of Salehi after his arrest.</p>

<p>It depicted a tattooed man in a sleeveless black T-shirt sitting on the ground, wearing a blindfold and looking bloodied and bruised.</p>

<p>The man says: "I am Toomaj Salehi. I said I made a mistake. I said... that you should run. I didn't mean you."</p>

<p>Activists condemned the recording as a forced confession extracted under duress.</p>

<p>Salehi is one of a number of prominent figures to be arrested in a mass crackdown that has seen dozens of journalists, lawyers, civil society and cultural figures arrested.</p>

<p>His detention came shortly after he gave an interview highly critical of the regime to the Canadian Broadcasting Cooperation.</p>

<p>To mark the 20th anniversary of her 2002 album 'This is Me', Jennifer Lopez, on Friday, announced her first album in eight years, which she recently&nbsp;wrote and produced. Her upcoming album is titled 'This is Me... Now' and marks the follow-up of her 2002 album.</p>

<p>The 53-year-old singer, who has deleted all of her&nbsp;posts from her Instagram handle, shared a teaser clip on the social media platform and revealed a list of songs that will be featured in the upcoming album.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Cinematographer Autumn Durald Arkapaw, in a recent interview, opened up about working with Ryan Coogler in the 'Black Panther' sequel 'Wakanda Forever'. Before sharing her on-set experience with the filmmaker, Arkapaw revealed that she was introduced to Coogler by her friend and cinematographer Bradford Young at a time when Coogler was looking for a DoP for 'Creed'. Even though the two couldn't collaborate for 'Creed', they joined hands for the Marvel film. &nbsp;</p>

<p>Praising Coogler for his work ethic, the cinematographer said, "So what’s great about Ryan, and not every director does this, is that he asked that I be brought on for prep. So before I was on the ground in Atlanta, he involved me in his storyboard and pre-vis meetings. So I would be involved in those via zoom, and that was probably the first thing we did together."</p>

<p>She added, "It’s not my favourite thing. But anything that will help the director, producers, and everybody on the set feels more comfortable is great. Because you have costume, production design, SFX, and stunts, they all want a global idea of what we are trying to execute. And so when you can give them a slight framework, it just helps them do their job better. And then also you can change it. It’s not set in stone. It’s just giving you an idea, and what’s great about Ryan is that we did all this boarding, but he’s still very collaborative. So we’re still very open to adjusting it on the day."</p>

<p>Meanwhile, Coogler,&nbsp;on Thursday, penned a thank you note for all the people who reached theatres to watch 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever' and showed their support for the movie. In a long note shared by production house Marvel Studios on their official Instagram handle,&nbsp;Coogler said that seeing the love the movie is receiving, he is filled with gratitude.</p>

<p>“Gratitude. That is the only word that comes to my mind for your support of our work on the film Black Panther Wakanda Forever. I am filled with it,” Ryan wrote.</p>

<p>To thank all the fans who watched the movie, he wrote, “Thank you. Thank you to the people bought their tickets early and camped out opening weekend. Thank you to those of you who took their families and young ones and elders in tow. To those who organised youth screenings and afterparties, who bought theatres for communities and friends. To all of you, who watched multiple times and encouraged other folks to check it out.”</p>

<p>Remembering actor Chadwick Boseman, Coogler added, “We made something to honour our friend, who was a giant in our industry, and we also made something to be enjoyed in a theatrical sitting with friends, family and strangers.” Take a look!</p>

Before sharing her on-set experience with the filmmaker, Arkapaw revealed that she was introduced to Coogler by her friend and cinematographer Bradford Young at a time when Coogler was looking for a DoP for 'Creed'. Even though the two couldn't collaborate for 'Creed', they joined hands for the Marvel film. Praising Coogler for his work ethic, the cinematographer said, "So what’s great about Ryan, and not every director does this, is that he asked that I be brought on for prep. So before I was on the ground in Atlanta, he involved me in his storyboard and pre-vis meetings. So I would be involved in those via zoom, and that was probably the first thing we did together." She added, "It’s not my favourite thing. But anything that will help the director, producers, and everybody on the set feels more comfortable is great. Because you have costume, production design, SFX, and stunts, they all want a global idea of what we are trying to execute. And so when you can give them a slight framework, it just helps them do their job better. And then also you can change it. It’s not set in stone. It’s just giving you an idea, and what’s great about Ryan is that we did all this boarding, but he’s still very collaborative. So we’re still very open to adjusting it on the day." Meanwhile, Coogler, on Thursday, penned a thank you note for all the people who reached theatres to watch 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever' and showed their support for the movie. In a long note shared by production house Marvel Studios on their official Instagram handle, Coogler said that seeing the love the movie is receiving, he is filled with gratitude. “Gratitude. That is the only word that comes to my mind for your support of our work on the film Black Panther Wakanda Forever. I am filled with it,” Ryan wrote. To thank all the fans who watched the movie, he wrote, “Thank you. Thank you to the people bought their tickets early and camped out opening weekend. Thank you to those of you who took their families and young ones and elders in tow. To those who organised youth screenings and afterparties, who bought theatres for communities and friends. 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever': Autumn Durald Arkapaw praises Ryan Coogler for being 'very collaborative'

<p>Though Loujain Adada wasn't able to find her true match during the filming of Netflix's new reality and lifestyle show 'Dubai Bling', it seems that Walid Juffali's millionaire widow has&nbsp;found her partner in&nbsp;Pakistani model Hasnain Lehr. And, they are not afraid to keep things real on social media about their bond.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Taking to social media on Thursday, Lehri&nbsp;announced his relationship with the reality TV show star. While sharing a love-filled picture, he penned a note to express his feelings. His heartfelt note left netizens gushing.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Sharing a mushy photo of himself and Loujain, he wrote, "H (infinity symbol) L," before adding, "I thought fairy tales would never come true until I met my princess @loujainaj." Loujain commented on the picture and confirmed their relationship in the most adorable way. She wrote,&nbsp;"My heart H fairytales do come true."</p>

Is 'Dubai Bling' star Loujaine aka LJ dating Pakistani model Hasnain Lehri?

<p>Wilko Johnson, the guitarist with British blues-rock band Dr Feelgood who had an unexpected career renaissance after being diagnosed with terminal cancer, has died. He was 75.</p>

<p>A statement posted Wednesday on Johnson’s official social media accounts on behalf of his family said the musician died Monday evening at his home in southeast England.</p>

<p>Born John Wilkinson in 1947, Johnson was raised on Canvey Island, a marshy, industrial oil town in England’s River Thames estuary. He studied Anglo-Saxon literature at Newcastle University and worked as a schoolteacher before forming Dr Feelgood with other local friends.</p>

<p>At a time of flamboyant glam and indulgent prog rock, they played a then-unfashionable brand of blues and R&amp;B, dressed in cheap suits that made them look, Johnson said later, like “shoddy bank robbers.”</p>

<p>Johnson helped give Dr Feelgood a dangerous edge with his choppy, relentless guitar style and thousand-yard glare — a look terrifying enough to earn him a role later in life as silent executioner Ser Ilyn Payne on 'Game of Thrones'.</p>

<p>The anarchic outfit inspired bands who would soon drive the U.K. punk explosion, and teetered on the edge of global fame, scoring a U.K. No. 1 album, tours of the U.S. and a deal with CBS records. Then in 1977, Johnson walked out amid friction with charismatic lead singer Lee Brilleaux, who died in 1994.</p>

<p>Johnson later said that if the band had been able to follow its managers’ instructions to behave, “I’m pretty sure we’d be multimillionaires. But we didn’t. We were geezers from Canvey Island. We were great friends, and we fell out.”</p>

<p>Johnson went on to perform with Ian Dury’s band, the Blockheads, and spent years playing to a devoted fanbase, largely in the U.K. and Japan.</p>

<p>In 2012, Johnson was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and was told it was terminal. The prospect of death unexpectedly revived his creative energies. He declined chemotherapy, decided to go on one last tour, and recorded a “final” album, 'Going Back Home',&nbsp;with Roger Daltrey of The Who.</p>

<p>“I suddenly found myself in a position where nothing matters anymore,” he told the Associated Press in 2013. “I’m a miserable so-and-so normally. ... I’d be worrying about the taxman or all the things that we worry about that get in the way of the real things. And suddenly it doesn’t matter. All of that doesn’t matter.</p>

<p>“You walk down the street and you feel intensely alive. You’re `Oh, look at that leaf!′ You’re looking around and you think, `I’m alive. Ain’t it amazing?’”</p>

<p>In another twist, a fan who was also a cancer specialist offered to help. After surgery to remove a 3-kilogram (6.6-pound) tumour, Johnson announced in 2014 he was cancer-free. He released another album, “Blow Your Mind,” in 2018, and played gigs with his Wilko Johnson Band until last month.</p>

<p>Daltrey paid tribute to “the uncompromising Bard of Canvey.”</p>

<p>“More than anything Wilko wanted to be a poet,” he said. “I was lucky to have known him and have him as a friend. His music lives on but there’s no escaping the final curtain this time.”</p>

<p>Johnson is survived by his sons Simon and Matthew and grandson Dylan.</p>

He studied Anglo-Saxon literature at Newcastle University and worked as a schoolteacher before forming Dr Feelgood with other local friends. At a time of flamboyant glam and indulgent prog rock, they played a then-unfashionable brand of blues and R&B, dressed in cheap suits that made them look, Johnson said later, like “shoddy bank robbers.” Johnson helped give Dr Feelgood a dangerous edge with his choppy, relentless guitar style and thousand-yard glare — a look terrifying enough to earn him a role later in life as silent executioner Ser Ilyn Payne on 'Game of Thrones'. <p>A Canadian diplomat was present&nbsp;in the court to hear the sentencing, according to the same statement.</p>

<p>Wu’s production company and lawyers have denied the allegations and have claimed that the singer was not involved in any underage sex.</p>

<p>To protect the victims’ privacy, the June trial of the 32-year-old has been kept private and is closed to the public. The pop sensation was detained in August last year&nbsp;after the police conducted an investigation in response to viral comments online, which claimed that he “repeatedly lured young women” for sexual intercourse.</p>

<p>"This will necessitate a reorganization of Disney Media &amp; Entertainment Distribution. As a result, Kareem Daniel will be leaving the company," Iger revealed in a memo obtained by CNBC.</p>

<p>"Our goal is to have the new structure in place in the coming months. Without question, elements of DMED will remain, but I fundamentally believe that storytelling is what fuels this company, and it belongs at the center of how we organize our businesses," Iger added. "This is a moment of great change and opportunity for our company as we begin our second century."</p>

<p>During his three-year tenure as CEO, Chapek had reorganized the company to establish the DMED division and consolidate budgetary power for Disney’s content and distribution divisions under Daniel and Iger's latest decision marked the swift undoing of the same.</p>

<p>According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Ye didn't appear at a deposition scheduled for November 16. Due to his absence, the deposition was rescheduled to a later date.</p>

<p>Kim first filed for divorce nearly two years ago. A judge has already signed an order, which makes Kim and Kanye legally single, but there are still issues of custody and the division of assets that needs to be resolved.</p>

No-show! Kanye West misses divorce deposition with Kim Kardashian

<p>Jay Leno, the former host of 'The Tonight Show', was discharged from the hospital on Monday. He had suffered serious second-degree burns while working underneath a car in Burbank, California, last week. After being under medical supervision for days, the 72-year-old returned home, looking happy and healthy.</p>

<p>Before leaving the medical facility, he posed for a picture with the hospital staff at the Grossman Burn Center and thanked everyone for taking care of him and sending best wishes. The picture shows&nbsp;visible burn scars on his face, neck and hand.</p>

<p>"After a 10-day stay at the facility, Jay will receive follow-up care at the Grossman Outpatient Burn Clinic for burns to his face, chest and hands he received during a fire at his home garage," Leno's doctors shared in a press release&nbsp;shared with the PA news agency.</p>

<p>"Jay would like to let everyone know how thankful he is for the care he received, and is very appreciative of all of the well wishes. He is looking forward to spending Thanksgiving with his family and friends and wishes everyone a wonderful holiday."</p>

<p>Meanwhile, Dr Peter Grossman also shared that he was very "pleased with Jay’s progress"&nbsp;and he is "optimistic"&nbsp;that the 72-year-old&nbsp;will fully recover soon.</p>

However, according to the court filings, Jane claims that the actress stopped making payments after the initial two instalments.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Jane claims he is now owed $137,000 in principal, $9,814.79 in interest and $2,291.85 in late charges.&nbsp;As part of their agreement, Jane alleged that the actress was supposed to pay 30% of her income every time she received payment of more than $15,000. She was also asked to keep him notified of upcoming professional work.</p>

<p>The 53-year-old Emmy winner crashed her car into a house on August 5 in the Mar Vista neighbourhood of Los Angeles. She breathed her last on August 11.</p>

<p>Following Heche's death, Jane gave a statement to The Daily Mail and offered his "thoughts and prayers", calling her "one of the true talents of her generation".</p>

<p>Hollywood star Chris Hemsworth, who is currently busy winding up the press tour of his new docuseries 'Limitless', has decided to take a break from acting. After completing the tour for the docuseries and fulfilling his commitments, he will be taking some time off from work to enjoy the company of&nbsp;his family, which includes his wife Elsa Pataky, daughter India and twin sons Tristan and Sasha. His focus will be his health until he returns to the sets for his next.&nbsp;</p>

<p>While speaking to Vanity Fair, he said, "Doing an episode on death and facing your own mortality made me go, ‘Oh God, I’m not ready to go yet.’ I want to sit and be in this space with a greater sense of stillness and gratitude."</p>

<p>“It really triggered something in me to want to take some time off. And since we finished the show, I’ve been completing the things I was already contracted to do. Now when I finish this tour this week, I’m going home, and I’m going to have a good chunk of time off and just simplify. Be with the kids, be with my wife,” he continued.</p>

<p>While filming 'Limitless', Hemsworth got to know that he is eight to 10 times more likely than an average individual to develop Alzheimer's disease.</p>

<p>In the fifth episode of the docuseries, the actor met longevity physician Dr Peter Attia and underwent a series of genetic tests. During which Attia told Hemsworth, "We’ve got every blood test one can get. And you’ve got two copies of APOE4. A set from your mom and a set from your dad." For those uninitiated, APOE4 is the gene that has the strongest correlation to the development of Alzheimer’s disease.</p>

<p>During the episode, Hemsworth also revealed that his grandfather suffers from the disease. "He either doesn’t remember who we are, you know, his grandkids, but also even his own children, for years. It’s heartbreaking," Hemsworth said.</p>

<p>Anti-conformist French filmmaker Jean-Marie Straub died peacefully at his home in Switzerland on Sunday, the Swiss National Film Archive announced. He was 89. Straub was a peer of many greats from the French New Wave art film movement and received the Locarno Film Festival's lifetime achievement award.</p>

<p>"I spoke to Mrs Straub at midday; he died at 6:00 am this morning at his house in Rolle," on Lake Geneva in western Switzerland, Cinematheque Suisse spokesman Christophe Bolli told AFP. "He died peacefully."</p>

<p>Born in 1933 in Metz in northeastern France, Straub started out as an assistant to some of the great French filmmakers of the age, including Jean Renoir, Jacques Rivette and Robert Bresson.</p>

<p>He was close to New Wave standard bearers Francois Truffaut and Jean-Luc Godard. In the 1960s, he left France for Germany, directing films in tandem with his then-wife Daniele Huillet.</p>

<p>The couple challenged traditional narrative and aesthetic patterns. She died in 2006.</p>

<p>Among their best-known films are 'From the Clouds to the Resistance'&nbsp;(1979) and 'Sicilia!'&nbsp;(1999).</p>

<p>He eventually lived around the corner from Godard, who died in Rolle in September aged 91.</p>

<p>"We were very, very close to him. He also donated some of his films to us," Bolli said of Straub. "We had done a lot of screenings with him and he came many times between 2018 and 2019. Afterwards, his health deteriorated."</p>

<p>In 2017 he was awarded Locarno's Leopard of Honour, putting him in the company of other recipients including Rivette, Godard, Ennio Morricone, Bernardo Bertolucci, Paul Verhoeven, Ken Loach, Terry Gilliam, Werner Herzog and John Landis.</p>

<p>In Hollywood, he's the rising star of the sequel to 'Black Panther',&nbsp;the first major Black superhero movie. In his homeland Mexico, Tenoch Huerta is leading a fight against racism on the screen. The 41-year-old aims to use his growing fame to break the tradition of Mexican actors of Indigenous origin being cast in the roles of thieves and villains.</p>

<p>Playing the character of Namor the Sub-Mariner in Marvel Studios' 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever',&nbsp;Huerta joins a small club of international Mexican stars such as Salma Hayek, Gael Garcia Bernal and Diego Luna.</p>

<p>The path to Hollywood was strewn with pitfalls for Huerta, who hails from a working-class suburb of Mexico City.</p>

<p>"Like thousands of dark-skinned people, I've been called names" such as "dirty Indian," he wrote in his new book "Orgullo Prieto" (Brown Pride).</p>

<p>"Mexico is a country that's racist and denies it," he added.</p>

<p>Huerta said it is a myth that Mexico today is a mixed-race country where skin colour is unimportant.</p>

<p>"This is how we deny the cultural and linguistic diversity of all Indigenous nations, Afro-descendant communities, Asians," he wrote.</p>

<p>Huerta, who also played infamous drug trafficker Rafael Caro Quintero in the Netflix hit 'Narcos: Mexico',&nbsp;criticized the way of thinking "that places white, modern, Western, on a higher level."</p>

<p><strong>- 'Racist narratives' -</strong></p>

<p>Even before "Black Panther," Huerta was the figurehead of "Poder Prieto" (Brown Power), a collective of actresses and actors who feel discriminated against because of their origin and their skin colour.</p>

<p>"We're only given characters of delinquents, domestic workers, or the poor," said Christel Klitbo, 40, who is of Danish, African and Lebanese descent.</p>

<p>Aware of the powerful influence of the media, Huerta said he and the other group members see a "compelling need to change racist narratives and practices, which have been normalized, reproduced and perpetuated in the audiovisual industry."</p>

<p>Huerta hopes that his appearance in 'Black Panther' -- which also stars Oscar winner Lupita Nyong'o, who was born in Mexico to Kenyan parents -- will help their struggle.</p>

<p>"The perception changes if we have these dark-skinned actors, of clearly Indigenous descent, in positions of power and influence, who are kings and great warriors," he said.</p>

<p>Huerta also wants to see changes in wider Mexican customs, such as the popular saying still heard in some homes that daughters should marry a white man to "improve the race."</p>

<p>While he is in favour of laws against racism, Huerta avoids commenting on the policies of Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador's party, which has pledged to "restore the dignity" of Indigenous peoples.</p>

<p>"I believe that the demands of the Indigenous peoples have not been met. But this is a subject that does not concern me because I am not Indigenous," he said Friday at his book launch.</p>

<p>"As a simple external observer, I believe that we could do more and better," he added.</p>

<p>Mexico is home to 23.2 million people over the age of three who identify as Indigenous, representing 19.4 per cent of the population, according to the national statistics agency INEGI.</p>

<p>Around one in five Mexican adults said they had experienced discrimination over the past year, mainly because of their skin colour, in the first national survey on the subject in 2O17.&nbsp;</p>

<p>And three-quarters of Indigenous people felt undervalued by Mexican society.</p>

<p>"We are a new link in a chain that dates back 500 years. All the struggles have been the same for 500 years," Huerta concluded, referring to the Spanish conquest and fall of the Aztec empire in 1521.</p>

"We're only given characters of delinquents, domestic workers, or the poor," said Christel Klitbo, 40, who is of Danish, African and Lebanese descent. Aware of the powerful influence of the media, Huerta said he and the other group members see a "compelling need to change racist narratives and practices, which have been normalized, reproduced and perpetuated in the audiovisual industry." Huerta hopes that his appearance in 'Black Panther' -- which also stars Oscar winner Lupita Nyong'o, who was born in Mexico to Kenyan parents -- will help their struggle. "The perception changes if we have these dark-skinned actors, of clearly Indigenous descent, in positions of power and influence, who are kings and great warriors," he said. Huerta also wants to see changes in wider Mexican customs, such as the popular saying still heard in some homes that daughters should marry a white man to "improve the race." While he is in favour of laws against racism, Huerta avoids commenting on the policies of Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador's party, which has pledged to "restore the dignity" of Indigenous peoples. "I believe that the demands of the Indigenous peoples have not been met. But this is a subject that does not concern me because I am not Indigenous," he said Friday at his book launch. "As a simple external observer, I believe that we could do more and better," he added. Mexico is home to 23.2 million people over the age of three who identify as Indigenous, representing 19.4 per cent of the population, according to the national statistics agency INEGI. Around one in five Mexican adults said they had experienced discrimination over the past year, mainly because of their skin colour, in the first national survey on the subject in 2O17. And three-quarters of Indigenous people felt undervalued by Mexican society. "We are a new link in a chain that dates back 500 years. All the struggles have been the same for 500 years," Huerta concluded, referring to the Spanish conquest and fall of the Aztec empire in 1521.
