<p>A girl from Kerala passed away on Sunday after she decided to survive only on a hot water diet for months. She was an 18-year-old teenager. Thalassery hospital doctors said that the teen was going through the eating disorder anorexia. When she died, she weighed just 24 kg.</p>

<p>A 47-year-old woman was killed in a tiger attack at Priyadarshini Estate at Mananthavady village in the Wayanad district of Kerala state in India on Friday morning, sparking intense protests by locals in the area.</p>
<p>The victim, Radha, who belonged to a scheduled caste, was mauled by the tiger while she was out plucking coffee at the estate in the morning.</p>

<p>According to local media, Sandhya and her husband took a loan from a private institution in 2019 for the construction of their home in North Paravur, Kerala. The couple took a loan of Rs 4 lakh from Manappuram Finance, a Kerala-based Non Banking Finance Company (NBFC).</p>

<p>Manappuram Finance started foreclosure proceedings after the repayments stopped. The NBFC said that Sandhya had been given four warnings after loan repayments stopped three years ago.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Recently, when Sandhya returned to her home, she was shell-shocked to find that NBFC officials had entered her house and replaced her locks, officially evicting her and her two children. They did not even allow Sanhdya to take their belongings from inside the house.</p>

<p>The plight of Sandhya and her children, stranded on the road sparked outrage among locals. Her story was soon picked up by local media and reached MA Yusuff Ali, the chairman of Lulu Group, who immediately stepped in to help the family.</p>

<p>“Destroying the federal system enshrined in the Constitution is tantamount to denying the rights of state and local governments, and it also challenges the fundamental rights of the people,” he added.</p>

<p>The support for the motion was unanimous as the opposition, led by&nbsp;Mannarkad MLA N Samsudheen, granted his full support.&nbsp;Samsudheen said the proposal impacted the country's federal structure, adding that it was a threat to state governance and democratic processes.&nbsp;</p>
