Kangana Ranaut is still miffed with Alia Bhatt, it seems. The 'Manikarnika' star has unleashed fresh round vitriol towards Bhatt.&nbsp;

While the world has lauded Bhatt's performance in Zoya Akhtar's film 'Gully Boy', Bhatt hasn't found a fan in Ranaut who termed her act as 'mediocre'. &nbsp;

In an online poll conducted by BollywoodLife, Ranaut's performance in 'Manikarnika' got maximum number votes making her the Best Actress of this first quarter of 2019. Alia's performance in 'Gully Boy' was a close second. When Kangana was asked how she felt at defeating Alia in the poll, the actress said, I am embarrassed...What is there to beat in Gully Boy performance ....same snappy muh phat girl...”

“(It’s just) Bollywood’s idea of a fiery girl, woman empowerment and good acting, spare me this embarrassment, please. Media has taken filmy kids love too far...stop pampering mediocre work or else bar will never be raised,” the Manikarnika actress further said.&nbsp;

Interestingly this is not the first time that Alia has been at the receiving end of Kangana's caustic comments. Earlier, Kangana had said that Alia needed to grow a spine. "I suggested that she (Alia) grows some spine and supports an important film about woman &nbsp;empowerment and nationalism...if she doesn’t have a voice of her own and her existence is all about being KJo’s puppet then I don’t consider her successful.”

Kangana has been miffed with not just Alia but quite a few Bollywood <a href="https://www.wionews.com/entertainment/alia-bhatt-on-kangana-ranauts-accusations-have-an-opinion-but-ill-keep-it-to-myself-201728">A-listers like Ranbir Kapoor, Aamir Khan </a>and Karan Johar for not supporting or lauding her film 'Manikarnika'.&nbsp;

Three-time National Film Award winner -- for ‘Fashion’, ‘Queen’ and ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ is now expecting her film to get the prestigious award again.&nbsp;

This came up during her 32nd birthday celebrations on Saturday when she was asked if she was expecting another for this film. She said, "I feel there are certain things which if you will not respect, then it is, in turn, disrespectful for that organisation itself. So, if I or my film Manikarnika... doesn’t win at National film awards, then it will question the credibility of that award ceremony but if I come across other good work then, I will be objective enough to say it’s better than me.”

"I think last year, Tabu ji gave an amazing performance in Andhadun. I am floored by what she has done. I think in the coming year, it will be revealed. If there will be a better performance than Manikarnika, I will definitely appreciate that but I don't think it will happen."

As for her professional commitments, Kangana will next be seen in ‘Mental Hai Kya’ with Rajkummar Rao. The film is produced by Ekta Kapoor and is directed by Prakash Kovelamudi.

Kangana Ranaut: If I or my film Manikarnika doesn’t win at National Film awards, it will question their credibility

Bollywood’s queen Kangana Ranaut is on her way to become the highest paid female actor of India after she is reportedly offered Rs 24 crore for <a href="https://www.wionews.com/india-news/kangana-to-play-former-tamil-nadu-cm-j-jayalalithaa-in-a-biopic-205030">playing former Tamil Nadu chief minister Jayalalithaa </a>in an upcoming film based on the Tamil actor-politician’s life.

The film titled ‘Thalaivi’ in Tamil and ‘Jaya’ in Hindi, will be directed by Vijay and written by KV Vijayendra Prasad.

According to a source close to the project, “Kangana is being paid to the tune of Rs 24 crore for the bilingual project, which will be made in Hindi and Tamil. The makers are sure that her star power will help reach a pan-India audience. The producers have already signed a contract with her.”&nbsp;

Kangana’s reported fee of Rs 24 crore surpasses that of Deepika Padukone too, which was touted to be the highest ever paid to an actress, as she took home Rs 13 crore for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmaavat’. Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor took home Rs 10 crore for the film.&nbsp;

Among others, Kareena Kapoor Khan is currently charging Rs 10 crore as her fees after the success of ‘Veere Di Wedding’.&nbsp;

Talking about the Jayalalithaa biopic, Kangana told media, “I always wanted to work in regional films because when we go to Tamil Nadu or Andhra Pradesh, we realise that people over there only watch films made by their local film industry. So there is a disconnect with that part of the country. I was waiting for a good opportunity to work over there and this film just came my way.

“I was working on my own biopic, but her (Jayalalithaa) story is very similar to my story. In fact, it is a bigger success story than mine. When I heard the narration of this film, I found many similarities between both the stories. So when I had the option to do a film based on her story or my story, I decided on the former.”

On whether she will learn Tamil for the film, she said: “Yes...Unless I fail miserably and they (the makers of the film) have to look for an option for my dubbing. But I will definitely learn the language.”

Kangana Ranaut, Richa Chadha starrer 'Panga' first look out, to release on this date

Kangana Ranaut's recent comments on how Bollywood needs to be voicing its political views openly has got rather different opinions from celebrities. Alia Bhatt who was accused by the actress for not speaking over contemporary issues has said that she would like to keep her opinions private. But actors like John Abraham have spoken in support of Ranaut.

During the success party of 'Manikarnika', Kangana had called Alia and her 'Gully Boy' co-star Ranveer Singh's comments of being apolitical "irresponsible" and lashed out at the duo for refusing to speak on politics.&nbsp;

At an event on Wednesday, Alia was asked to respond to Ranaut's statement. The 'Gully Boy' star took a diplomatic stand and said, "I definitely don't have the ability to speak as candidly as Kangana does, and I really do respect her for that and maybe in a way she is right, sometimes we do hold back."

"My dad also says that there are already so many opinions in the world that it can do with one less opinion. So, I have an opinion but I'll keep it to myself. But, kudos to her as she genuinely speaks really well," she added.&nbsp;

Meanwhile, John Abraham came out in support of the actress and said, "If they (referring to film industry personalities) are politically aware, then I think Kangana definitely is (right). She has got a voice and I think you must take a stand if you are politically aware."

Abraham was speaking at the trailer launch event of his new film <a href="http://www.wionews.com/entertainment/romeo-akbar-walter-trailer-john-abraham-goes-to-the-enemy-state-in-this-spy-thriller-201065">'Romeo Akbar Walter'.&nbsp;</a>

The actor said that one should speak up if one is aware of the issues. "You shouldn't be like I say 'stupidly talented'. You cannot be an idiot who doesn't know anything about which countries lie where and what's happening. If you don't know what's happening in Bihar to Syria then you should just shut up and show your mug that you have done so much work on. Don't talk,"

He added, "So unless you are aware about what's happening then only make a statement. If you are not aware, don't make a statement," the actor added.&nbsp;

The success of 'Manikarnika' has given its co-director Kangana Ranaut the motivation to take up another film as a director.&nbsp;

According to reports, Ranaut will soon bring her own life story to the big screen as a director and says the project won't be a "propaganda".&nbsp;

The script will be penned by 'Baahubali' writer KV Vijayendra, who also wrote 'Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi'. The film is likely to on floors by the end of this year in October-November.&nbsp;

"My own story is the subject of my next directorial. But it is not a propaganda film with characters who are starkly black and white, rather it is a sincere, heartfelt account of my journey so far with plenty of lighter moments," Kangana said in a statement.&nbsp;

"I'm emboldened by the love of the people around me, who have never judged me but accepted me for who I am," she added.&nbsp;

According to the actor, Vijayendra 'urged' Kangana, around 12 weeks ago, to let him write a film based on her life.&nbsp;

"I was nervous and wary initially, but then, given his stature and the fact that I trust him implicitly, I gave Vijayendra sir the go-ahead on the project."

Kangana said the film will focus on various aspects of her life but would not name people who have had differences with her in the past.&nbsp;

"How can I show my journey without people, I can't be walking alone. But we will not be taking any names. The idea is to protect me and my life with all its highs and lows.&nbsp;

"In the end, it is the story of an achiever, a girl from the mountains who came into Bollywood without any connections in the industry or even a godfather, and went on to carve a niche for herself against all odds," she added.

The actress on Thursday said people from the Hindi film industry have ganged up against her for calling them out on "nepotism".&nbsp;

"Is Rani of Jhansi my aunt? She's as much mine as she's yours. Then why are these people scared? They are worried just because I spoke on nepotism? They have formed a gang: 'Why did she speak on nepotism?"

The actor had sparked a debate on nepotism when she appeared on Karan Johar's chat show two years ago and started a war of words with the filmmaker after she called him the "torchbearer of nepotism" in the industry for launching star kids.

"What Bollywood is doing, the planning and plotting, one thing is for sure, earlier I used to call them out for sexism, nepotism or pay disparity, but now I'll be after them. 'Inki vaat laga dugi'. I'll expose each and every one. They have asked for trouble by ganging up against me," she added.&nbsp;

Kangana had earlier accused celebrities like Aamir Khan and Alia Bhatt for not supporting her during the release of 'Manikarnika'. The actress had stated that while she turned up for the screening of 'Dangal', 'Secret Superstar' and 'Raazi', Alia and Aamir failed to respond during the release of her film.

Interestingly, when Alia was asked to react on Kangana's accusations recently, the actress said she would apologise.&nbsp;

"I hope she doesn't dislike me and I don't think she dislikes me. I don't think I have done anything intentionally to upset her. If I have, I will apologise to her on a personal level."

Alia said she has always admired Kangana for being courageous and outspoken. "It takes courage to be that way. I wasn't aware of this problem or anything, I was busy with the shooting. So yes, what can I say, I don't want to upset anybody," Alia said in an interview Thursday.

Kangana Ranaut's 'Manikarnika' earns Rs 42.5 cr in its opening weekend

With only a day left for Kangana Ranaut starrer ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ to release across theatres in India, the fiery actress at a media interaction said she will not apologise to a fringe group, Shri Rajput Karni Sena, for the statement she made against them.&nbsp;

Kangana came for a media interaction on Wednesday in Mumbai as she addressed reports of a tiff between her and the fringe group that allegedly threatened to burn theatres if the film was released without making suggested edits. Apparently, they wanted a few scenes altered citing factual errors -- like showing the Rajput queen dancing to a song.&nbsp;

Reacting to the said demands, Kangana had earlier said that their film’s content has been verified by credible historians and<a href="http://www.wionews.com/entertainment/kangana-ranaut-issues-warning-to-karni-sena-as-they-protest-against-the-release-of-her-film-manikarnika-191194"> issued a warning </a>saying: "I am a Rajput and I will destroy them" if they try to stop the film from screening.&nbsp;

Soon after the statement was made, the fringe group claimed that the outfit is not involved in the protests against ‘Manikarnika’ and stated that some people are using the group’s name for vested interests. They, however, demanded an apology from Kangana for making a derogatory statement against their organisation.&nbsp;<a href="http://www.wionews.com/entertainment/kangana-ranaut-have-been-harassed-by-actors-on-film-sets-191789">Also read: Kangana's statement on #MeToo</a>

On this, Kangana said, "I will not apologize to anybody. I have never apologized whenever I haven't made a mistake. We have promised that we haven't shown anything wrong about Rani Laxmibai in the film so, they should support us.&nbsp;Rani Laxmibai is not my relative and I feel she is the daughter of the entire country so, we all should support the film. Shri Rajput Karni Sena should not play their ego card with me because I am not here to say sorry to anyone."&nbsp;

In another news, Kangana shared a video in which she is seen paying tribute to Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray on his birth anniversary on Wednesday. She paid tribute ahead of the release of 'Manikarnika..' which will be clashing with the release of the biopic 'Thackeray'. Both the films will release on January 25.&nbsp;

‘Manikarnika’ stars Kangana Ranaut, Atul Kulkarni, Ankita Lokhande, Mishti, Jisshu Sengupta, Suresh Oberoi, Danny Denzongpa and Kulbhushan Kharbanda in pivotal roles. The film is directed by Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi and Kangana Ranaut.

Kangana Ranaut on 'Manikarnika' controversy: I will not apologise to Shri Rajput Karni Sena

A few months back, actor Sonu Sood had to walk out of 'Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi' owing to his professional commitments. While Sood and the film's leading lady Kangana branaut had got into a public spat at that time, the actor now says he wishes the team well and not being a part of the period drama will always bother him.

"Not being a part of `Manikarnika...` will always bother me. I will always miss that whole experience of shooting for the film because the film was very special to me," Sonu told a news agency in an interview.&nbsp;

"But sometimes things are not meant to happen and I was not meant to be part of `Manikarnika...`. I just want to wish the team all the best. I am sure everyone has worked really hard on the film and film has to do well for every individual associated with the film," he added.

Sonu walked out of 'Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi' due to the clash of the looks he required to sport in the two films. In Rohit Shetty`s 'Simmba', Sonu is seen with a beard, but in 'Manikarnika' he was supposed to have a clean shaven look as a warrior.

When Kangana Ranaut, as the co-director, stepped in to re-shoot some portions of 'Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi', which tells the story of Rani Laxmibai, Sonu was unable to change his look owing to his commitment towards 'Simmba'.&nbsp;

But Kangana, claimed that Sonu left the movie as he "refused to work under a woman director". He denied all these allegations last year. He was replaced by Zeeshan Ayyub in the film, which will release on January 25.

Asked if he is willing to work with Kangana, Sonu said: "She has always been a very close friend and I have no qualms against her. I would like to wish her all the best."

"I don`t know whether we will be a part of a script which can justify both of us. As actors, we both are demanding. If something has to happen, I think God has to plan some really great script to make this happen."

The 43-year-old Nagpur-born actor has been part of many blockbuster hits in the past including 'Jodhaa Akbar', 'Singh Is Kinng', 'R... Rajkumar', 'Kung Fu Yoga', &nbsp;'Dabangg' and 'Happy New Year'.

At the moment, he is happy with the successful run of 'Simmba', backed by Reliance Entertainment, Rohit Shetty Picturez and Dharma Productions. Released on December 28, 2018, the action-comedy drama revolves around a corrupt police officer who eventually stands up against rapist, and has minted over Rs 350 crore worldwide.

"I am very elated after the success of `Simmba`. The whole team works together and if the film becomes the biggest blockbuster of the year and then you can`t ask for anything else. We are all blessed. There are good wishes with us which are doing the trick."

He hopes for at least one 'Simmba` in his career every year".

"`Simmba` will always be very special for me because I got to work with Rohit, Karan and Ranveer. I found new friends in them. We share great bonding and I am sure that these bonding will make many more `Simmba` in the years to come."

Sonu Sood on walking out of 'Manikarnika': Not being a part of that film will always bother me

Kangana Ranaut says she was harassed several times by actors on film sets and while it wouldn't fall under #MeToo as it wasn't sexual, the experience was daunting and humiliating.

The actor said harassment can happen on several levels and she has faced toxic behaviour from many people in her career.&nbsp;

"Harassment happens on many levels. So many times on sets, I wasn't sexually harassed, but some people had ego issues. I was harassed on many other fronts. It wouldn't come under #MeToo but it was still harassment," Kangana told PTI.&nbsp;

The actor said the harassment ranged from making her wait for long hours to dubbing her voice without her consent.&nbsp;

Talking about her harrowing experiences, Kangana said, "Making me wait on set for six hours, willingly giving me wrong call time to make me stand, always giving me the wrong set of dates so I'm missing out on opportunities and then cancelling the schedule last minute by these heroes.&nbsp;

"Ganging up on me and not inviting me to film events, launching trailers without me and then someone else dubbed for me without even telling me, which is violating the basic right of taking permission from an actor."

The 'Queen' star said because of the #MeToo movement, which hit India last year, men in the industry are scared.&nbsp;

"People are scared, obviously and they should be. Men are scared in the industry. This isn't going to stop. This will continue till we really go into the root cause of it because essentially it's a patriarchal society which is extremely chauvinistic.&nbsp;

"We need to come to a point where they are scared. All the talks of 'what if women lose work' should stop. I believe there's no life without dignity. You shouldn't worry about raising your voice."

The actor had come out in support of the survivor when allegations of sexual harassment were levelled against 'Queen' director Vikas Bahl.&nbsp;

Kangana, 31, said going forward strict rules and immediate action policy should be implemented to make film sets safer for women.&nbsp;

"On film sets there have to be strict rules and strict action should be taken. Things can't be solved on a personal level or behind closed doors. Things should be taken to authority and immediate action is the need of the hour.&nbsp;

"When anyone raises concern, people, director, producer or anyone, need to solve it. We need to become more sensitive about these things," she said.&nbsp;

Kangana will be next seen in 'Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi'. The much ambitious period-drama features her in the titular role and has been directed by Krish and Kangana. The film releases on January 25.&nbsp;

The movie based on the life of historic Indian queen Rani Laxmibai has come under the scanner as fringe group Karni Sena is protesting against the release of the film -- as she is reportedly shown having an affair with a British officer. The group is also objecting to a scene in which Kangana’s character can be seen dancing. The group has now threatened to burn the theatres if the said scenes are not chopped or altered.&nbsp;

Karni Sena is the same group that had created a mess before the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Padmaavat'. They threatened the director and leading actress Deepika Padukone for bringing shame to the community.&nbsp;

Responding to this, Kangana said, “Four historians have certified Manikarnika, we have got censor certificate as well, Karni Sena has been conveyed this but they are continuing to harass me if they don’t stop then they should know I am also a Rajput and I will destroy each one of them.”

The film has been certified by the CBFC and is ready to hit the screen on January 25.

Kangana Ranaut issues warning to Karni Sena as they protest against the release of 'Manikarnika'

As the release date of Kangana Ranaut-starrer ‘Manikarnika’ comes closer, makers of the film released a new song from the film.&nbsp;

Titled ‘Bharat’, the song as the name suggests is high on patriotism. Apart from the love for the country, it also shows Kangana who plays the role of Queen of Jhansi, come of age and become a warrior princess.&nbsp;

Kangana Ranaut is currently prepping up for the release of her film ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ that features her as the Queen of Jhansi, in a film that is based on her life’s struggles.&nbsp;

Now, in a recent interview, Kangana expressed her interest in working with Priyanka Chopra again. Kangana said, “I would definitely like to do (a movie with Priyanka). We have done a film called Krrish 3 together where she was playing a homely girl but I think if we both are like supergirls or something, that would work. Me and Priyanka can kick some butts. Essentially she is very like that person, she can kick butts, she is quite tough.”

The two have previously worked on Hrithik Roshan starrer ‘Krrish 3’ and Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Fashion’.&nbsp;

Meanwhile, Kangana is gearing up for the release of ‘Manikarnika’, which also marks her debut as a director. The film is set to clash with Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s ‘Thackeray’. On the clash, Kangana said,”We are very happy that we have a sort of a big window, there is a vacation. It’s a kind of a festive release. So, two films can easily come. So far, nobody has pressured us. It will be wrong to say that someone has approached us or pressured us into doing something that we don’t want to do.”

‘Manikarnika’ also stars Ankita Lokhande, Suresh Oberoi, Danny Denzongpa and Atul Kulkarni in pivotal roles.

At the Actresses Roundtable held recently where the successful actresses of 2018 came together to discuss important issues that were dealt with through movies or in real life, Rani Mukerji’s take on #MeToo was&nbsp;trolled by some on Twitter.&nbsp;

Rani was trolled for saying: "I think as a woman you have to be that powerful within yourself, you have to believe that you're so powerful that if you ever come into a situation like that you have the courage to say 'back off.' I think you have to have the courage to be able to protect yourself. You have to take responsibility for your own self."

Other actresses at the table including Deepika Padukone and Anushka Sharma did not look convinced with Rani’s point of view on the burning issue. <a href="http://www.wionews.com/entertainment/social-media-slams-rani-mukerji-on-her-views-on-metoo-as-deepika-anushka-alia-get-together-187548">Read what happened here.&nbsp;</a>

When Kangana (who was not a part of the discussion) was asked recently about Rani’s comment, she said, "People who need support, who need to be empowered, we must empower but agar Rani Laxmi Bai jaise ladkiyan agar humari society humein de sakti hai toh why not, unko discourage nahi karna chahiye. If they are strong women, we should not discourage women. I was 16-years-old when I filed my first FIR against sexual assault so there are people who can stand up for themselves, they shouldn’t be discouraged."

An important issue that came up from this discussion was how children would defend themselves in a situation like this. To this, Kangana added: "Like I said, empowerment who need, they should be empowered, who need. But, not necessarily everyone needs. Some people can give empowerment also. Some people are givers, the ones who can should be encouraged to give strength, people who are working with NGOs."&nbsp;

Kangana is currently waiting for the release of her next film<a href="http://www.wionews.com/photos/manikarnika-who-plays-who-185270"> ‘Manikarnika’ </a>in which she has not only acted but turned director-producer too. The film is set to release on January 25.&nbsp;

Kangana Ranaut, a firm believer of women power, says that people need to stop suppressing them. The actress who is bringing Rani Laxmibai's story to the big screen with 'Manikarnika', says her female co-stars are crucial to the biopic.&nbsp;

For Kangana, it is the courageous streak of the freedom fighter that resonated with her and made her choose the film.&nbsp;

"Growing up, I was considered a child hero, absolutely sensitive and obedient but when I felt I needed to break free I just took off. No one from the family was allowed to speak to me but my mother would hide and call me and softly ask what did you eat? No other questions" recalled Kangana.&nbsp;

"In those days, I realised love and God is the ultimate truth and both are the woman. Since then I have become a firm believer of women power which can empower us. We don`t need to empower them, they are powerful, and they are the very reason why humanity and human race exists. How can we empower them? We just don`t need to suppress them, that`s all...we need to recognise their subtle, sophisticated and superior strength and respect that. Rani Laxmibai was a firm believer of women and their power and she utilised it to the fullest."

With the film, Kangana wants to pay a worthy homage to Rani Laxmibai, and so she is glad that it is shaping up the way she had envisioned a" with women taking centre-stage."&nbsp;

Considering the film celebrates the fighting spirit, Kangana said it was crucial to rope in female actors who would do justice to the fierce characters etched out for them.

"In the film, Rani Laxmibai`s army is her strength. It was full of women who had an irrepressible spirit and a flair for fighting. We have Ankita Lokhande, Mishti and many more actresses forming the army. We will reveal each character through the promotions," added Kangana, who is putting finishing touches to January 25, 2019, release.

While Lokhande plays Jhalkaribai -- the warrior queen`s advisor and trusted aide, Mishti will be seen as a young warrior in the infantry. They were trained in horse riding and sword fighting for the roles.

Kangana Ranaut: No need to empower women, just don't supress them

There seems to be no end to troubles for 'Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi'. The film has been courting controversies one after the other. The makers of the film have been accused of not paying the dues of junior artists and workers. Now, the film's leading lady Kangana Ranaut has refused to promote the film until the producers clear all the dues.&nbsp;

Reacting on the issue, Kangana said, “It’s very sad. I have always opposed such kind of practices. There are doubts that labourers and technicians in the film industry are really devalued. I don’t know why actors only get unnecessary attention and importance in the film industry and because of that, I also want to be a technician.” The actress was speaking to the media at an event in Mumbai recently.&nbsp;

“I feel they are absolutely devalued. I want to venture into direction and writing as these people are unsung heroes of the film industry.”

The actress said the issue of nonpayment cannot be tolerated at any cost.&nbsp;“When such things happen with labourers, it can’t be tolerated but I have been promised by the makers of the film that there is no such thing like that. They told me that they have a dispute with a vendor and they are doing a negotiation with him because they don’t think they should pay as much he is demanding,” she said.

“I warned the makers of the film that if such thing will happen then I am going to disassociate from this film even though I have given 300 days of my life to it.

“I told them that I will not go for any promo launch and I will make sure that I will not promote the film even if one labourer’s money has been stuck but they told me to calm down on this issue,” said the actor.

Manikarnika: Kangana Ranaut refuses to promote the film until all dues of workers are cleared

There seems to no end to problems for Kangana Ranaut starrer Manikarnika. The film which already courted a lot of controversies has now landed itself in more trouble. Makers of 'Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi' are reportedly yet to clear dues of Rs 1.5 crores of the workers and junior artists who have worked on the film.&nbsp;

The shoot of the film was even stopped on Wednesday afternoon mid-way because of non-payment of dues. " It has been three months, but they have not cleared dues of daily wage workers, which is about Rs 40 lakh. About Rs&nbsp;90 lakhs&nbsp;to be paid to light vendors and Rs 25 lakh to junior artistes. The producer [Kamal Jain] had promised to make the payment by October but he has not fulfilled his commitment," Ashok Dubey, General Secretary of Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) told a daily.&nbsp;

"There was some patch-work that was remaining. We spoke to Kamal Jain in the first week of November to sort out this payment issue. But now he has stopped answering our calls. He said he will not pay the workers if the shooting comes to a halt," Dubey further added.

The federation will now send a letter to the post-production company to clear the dues and will also request CBFC to not give the movie a clearance till then. "The producers should understand the plight of these workers, technicians and junior artistes. There is no safety and security on the sets, there is no insurance for them. Besides this, the quality of food on the sets is not always good and there is also an issue of hygiene. We are also planning to meet Kirit Somaiya, who is the chairman of Labour committee," he added.
