Jayalalitha biopic producer confirms Kangana Ranaut 'deserves every bit of remuneration'

Kangana Ranaut recently became India’s highest paid actress after it was reported that she has been offered Rs 24 crore for playing the role of J Jayalalitha in her biopic. 

The film titled ‘Thalaivi’ in Tamil and ‘Jaya’ in Hindi, will be directed by Vijay and written by KV Vijayendra Prasad.

Producer of the film, Vishnu Vardhan Induri spoke to Pinkvilla about the same and said, "Kangana deserves every bit of remuneration she is getting, we are very happy to have her in our team, but the details can’t be disclosed it’s a matter between the talent and the producer no one else is authorised to talk about it." 

Kangana’s reported fee of Rs 24 crore surpasses that of Deepika Padukone too, which was touted to be the highest ever paid to an actress, as she took home Rs 13 crore for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmaavat’. Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor took home Rs 10 crore for the film. 

Among others, Kareena Kapoor Khan is currently charging Rs 10 crore as her fees after the success of ‘Veere Di Wedding’.
