AS Roma coach Jose Mourinho said that despite his team's spotless start to the season they are not perfect, believing the overall quality of the capital club's football could be better.

Roma's 5-1 thrashing of CSKA Sofia in the Europa Conference League in midweek made it six wins from six in all competitions for the Portuguese coach since taking over from Paulo Fonseca in May.

It is only the third time in the club's history that Roma have won the first six games of any season, but Mourinho is still not completely satisfied.

"It would be too easy to say that we were perfect," Mourinho told a news conference ahead of his side's trip to Hellas Verona on Sunday. "That's not the direction I want to go in.

"We must analyse in every game what went right and where the problems were. We can certainly do better in the quality of our football and the defensive movements. The truth is, despite the result, CSKA Sofia had moments when they were in control."

Verona sacked their manager after just three games of the season this week, with Eusebio Di Francesco replaced by Igor Tudor.

But Mourinho is not taking Sunday's trip lightly.

"Playing against these teams is difficult," Mourinho added.

"They are good at counter attacking and at penetrating from fullback. They reach dangerous areas and have depth.

"Hellas Verona have zero points but could have come away with something against Inter and Bologna. In my opinion they will finish well in the standings."

“Today I did not feel 58 years old, I felt like I was 10, 12 or 14, my run was like a child. I apologised to (Sassuolo coach Alessio) Dionisi, they played a fantastic match and if they had won there would be no argument, they played well.”

Roma snatch stunning late win over Sassuolo in Mourinho's 1000th game

AS Roma manager Jose Mourinho encouraged Swiss international Granit Xhaka to get vaccinated after the Arsenal midfielder returned a positive COVID-19 test this week.

The Switzerland captain, 28, was ruled out of Wednesday's friendly with Greece after testing positive for the coronavirus on the day of the game.

A spokesperson for the national team told Swiss newspaper Blick that Xhaka was not vaccinated.

"Get the jab Granit and be safe," Mourinho told Xhaka in a comment on a post on Instagram.&nbsp;

"It is obvious that it takes time and in football time is important. The reality is that we have not won for many years. There is a lot of work to do but the results will come." 
 
Roma dipped into the transfer market this week to bring in striker Tammy Abraham from Chelsea in a 40 million euro ($46.78 million) deal, replacing outgoing veteran forward Edin Dzeko. 
 
Mourinho, however, wants to see more signings before the summer transfer window shuts on Aug. 31. 
 
"I already explained our transfer strategy was one of reaction, because we lost two players that we weren`t expecting to lose – Leonardo Spinazzola (through injury) and Edin Dzeko," Mourinho added.

Tottenham have dropped eight points by conceding equalisers in the final 10 minutes this season after also blowing leads against Newcastle, West Ham and Crystal Palace. They also conceded a 90th-minute goal to lose at Liverpool. The visitors made a dream start at Molineux as Tanguy Ndombele opened the scoring in the first minute. Neto was the provider when Wolves did score the goal their second-half performance deserved. Saiss beat his marker to a corner at the near post and flicked the ball into the far corner. Wolves should even have gone on to win the game when 18-year-old Silva wasted a golden chance for his first Premier League goal from open play with a header straight at Lloris deep into stoppage time.
