'Joker' is the fourth DC comic title to cross 1 billion USD, after Aquaman (USD 1.15 billion), The Dark Knight Rises (USD 1.084 billion) and The Dark Knight (USD 1.005 billion).

Oscar nominated film 'Joker' to re-release in India on this date

Golden Globe-winning Icelandic musician Hildur Gudnadottir, 37, usually lives a quiet life in Berlin, but is about to see a lot more of Los Angeles' red carpets as nominations come flooding in for her score for Todd Phillips' film "Joker".

On January&nbsp;5, Gudnadottir made history by becoming the first solo female Golden Globe winner for best original score since the introduction of the category in 1947.

Lisa Gerrard won the 2000 award for Gladiator but in collaboration with Hans Zimmer.

Gudnadottir has a BAFTA nomination for the same film, won an Emmy in September for the HBO/Sky series "Chernobyl", has been nominated for music's biggest honour, a Grammy, for the same series, and is also an Oscar nominee for the "Joker" score.

"Normally I spend most of my time in Berlin in my studio or just with my son on the football fields... it has been hugely surprising how many ears I seemed to have reached in the last year, it is a wonderful surprise," she told Reuters.

Gudnadottir, who is an accomplished cellist and singer and who started training aged four, puts her success down to a spot of luck and the "big awakening" ushered in by the #metoo movement.

"There has been a lot of discussion in the last years about the position of women in the film industry, music industry and just in general you know: where are the women?," she said.

The composer says it would be nice if all these 'milestones' that she is achieving - she is only the 5th female composer to be nominated for the Oscars in 92 years - were no longer considered as such, but is grateful for the chance to be part of the changing landscape.

"If one young girl starts writing music as a result of that then it is totally worth it," Gudnadottir said.

Her contribution to "Joker" went well beyond the traditional role of a score writer, who typically creates the music after filming has finished. In the case of "Joker", Gudnadottir was given the script to work off and ended up directly influencing the film's most iconic moment: the bathroom dance, with her haunting score.

Gudnadottir's influence on "Joker" is a reflection of the way she approaches her projects. For 'Chernobyl', she travelled to Lithuania to record inside a nuclear reactor using the reactor as a musical instrument in an attempt to capture the sound and feel of radiation.

When the awards season is over, Gudnadottir who has a solo album coming out, says she will take a break from film music and go back to her roots as a musician.

The Grammy winners will be announced on January 26, the Oscars on February 10.

In an interview with Variety, Todd said, "It's a beautiful Gotham. What I would like to see someone tackle is what Batman looks like from that Gotham."&nbsp;

But before you get your hopes high, Todd also mentioned that it could be another filmmaker who gets inspired and gives a spin to the idea and make their own Batman. He said, "I'm not saying I'm going to do that. What was interesting to me about the inclusion of Batman in our movie was, 'What kind of Batman does that Gotham make?' That's all I meant by that."

Meanwhile, Warner Bros. the studio that backed ‘Joker’ is already working on a film on the superhero. Titled ‘Batman’, the film is being directed by Matt Reeves and features Robert Pattinson (of the fame ‘Twilight’) as Batman.&nbsp;

After standing on top at the box office late last month, Joaquin Phoenix starrer 'Joker'&nbsp;continued its winning streak by crossing $900 million in worldwide ticket sales on Saturday.

"It looks even better than in the movie," Tasula Ceballos, a young Russian living in Miami, told AFP, slightly disappointed that the crowds meant her photos didn't come out quite as she had hoped.

"I love when directors shoot in real places. Usually, they film in studios like Warner Brothers but this is a real place. We can come and we can touch the floor," she added.

There is more, a 16-year-old girl from Sweden has shocked elders into taking climate change seriously. The “little girl” has gone on to make the most powerful men in the White House &amp; Kremlin a wee bit uncomfortable, especially given the fact that they have a nuclear stockpile which can bring about a nuclear winter, leave alone Co2 levels.

Closer home, an outdated 70-year-old Article in the Indian Constitution has been abrogated bringing with it multiple headaches for India’s neighbour and for a prime minister who has been running from pillar to post to convince the world that India is wrong &amp; Pakistan is right.&nbsp;

So what is about the “Joker” that we fear. Do they test our demons? Or are they a force of change for the good in the time of FAANG (Facebook, Amazon, Apple, Netflix, Google).

According to research, in the last 15 years( roughly the dawn of the worldwide web), mankind has seen the most dramatic changes - technologically &amp; socially. It has naturally changed the natural order of things - we are more “connected”, less dependent &amp; more selfie, oops self-aware!

Disruption, however, has come to define our times with virtually every industry, country and society feeling its effect. There are talk shows, realms of newsprint and a wide variety of websites devoted to it trying to assess and define the phenomena.

The notable thing is though that disruption has always defined the way civilization exists. The industrial revolution in Britain created a wave of technology and changes in the 19th century which profoundly changed the way we looked at ourselves.

The Ford car with its groundbreaking "assembly line" disrupted horse carriages ensuring a "cleaner" way to travel on roads, but over 100 years later cars are now being panned for causing pollution.&nbsp;

The industrial revolution spawned a generation of individual disrupters, or jokers if you want to call them - Richard Roberts invented the power loom replacing the handloom, thereby explosively increasing scale of production. Other greats - Richard Arkwright defined the spinning industry, James Watt invented the steam engine and changed travel forever. A little known Englishman Charles Babbage also known as the "father of computers" created the first mechanical computer. The list is endless.

Even as these changes were taking place, Britain and Europe were expanding not just territorially in their hunt for new colonies and markets but in population as well, but the pace of change continued unabated.

The 21st century is no different. The Internet has radically changed our way of thinking bringing with it people who have defined our times - Zuckerberg, Bezos, Steve Jobs, and several others. The change has been felt in politics, culture and economy, each has tried to incorporate the new wave, those who have resisted have sunk into oblivion.

A final thought for the "jokers", the world should at least take note of their presence, learn from them and rework their plan because they are a product of our times. The jokers cannot be shunned and dismissed as a bad joke because the consequences of that could be even worse.

In 2020 and beyond, progress has to be all-embracing with no boundaries and no limits. In a disruptive world wrought with fear and insecurity - the weak, strong and the great must walk together.

So what is about the “Joker” that we fear. Do they test our demons? Or are they a force of change for the good in the time of FAANG (Facebook, Amazon, Apple, Netflix, Google). According to research, in the last 15 years( roughly the dawn of the worldwide web), mankind has seen the most dramatic changes - technologically & socially. It has naturally changed the natural order of things - we are more “connected”, less dependent & more selfie, oops self-aware! Disruption, however, has come to define our times with virtually every industry, country and society feeling its effect. There are talk shows, realms of newsprint and a wide variety of websites devoted to it trying to assess and define the phenomena. The notable thing is though that disruption has always defined the way civilization exists. The industrial revolution in Britain created a wave of technology and changes in the 19th century which profoundly changed the way we looked at ourselves. The Ford car with its groundbreaking "assembly line" disrupted horse carriages ensuring a "cleaner" way to travel on roads, but over 100 years later cars are now being panned for causing pollution. The industrial revolution spawned a generation of individual disrupters, or jokers if you want to call them - Richard Roberts invented the power loom replacing the handloom, thereby explosively increasing scale of production. Other greats - Richard Arkwright defined the spinning industry, James Watt invented the steam engine and changed travel forever. A little known Englishman Charles Babbage also known as the "father of computers" created the first mechanical computer. The list is endless. Even as these changes were taking place, Britain and Europe were expanding not just territorially in their hunt for new colonies and markets but in population as well, but the pace of change continued unabated. The 21st century is no different. The Internet has radically changed our way of thinking bringing with it people who have defined our times - Zuckerberg, Bezos, Steve Jobs, and several others. The change has been felt in politics, culture and economy, each has tried to incorporate the new wave, those who have resisted have sunk into oblivion. A final thought for the "jokers", the world should at least take note of their presence, learn from them and rework their plan because they are a product of our times. The jokers cannot be shunned and dismissed as a bad joke because the consequences of that could be even worse. In 2020 and beyond, progress has to be all-embracing with no boundaries and no limits. In a disruptive world wrought with fear and insecurity - the weak, strong and the great must walk together. While moviegoers have been heaping praise on the actor, some also feel that it might promote the culture of gun violence. Marvel star Josh Brolin aka Thanos who played the main evil in ‘Avengers Endgame’ and “Avengers Infinity War’ also took out time to reflect on his stand on the film and you have to read it.&nbsp;

In his lengthy post, Josh wrote that the Todd Philips directorial emphasis on problems of the society and makes you contemplate on a lot of things. He started with, "To appreciate “Joker” I believe you have to have either gone through something traumatic in your lifetime (and I believe most of us have) or understand somewhere in your psyche what true compassion is (which usually comes from having gone through something traumatic, unfortunately). An example of dangerous compassion would be to, say, make a film made about the fragility of the human psyche, and make it so raw, so brutal, so balletic that by the time you leave the theatre you not only don’t want to hurt anything but you desperately want an answer and a solution to the violence and mental health issues that have spun out of control around us. This film makes you hurt and only in pain do we ever want to change. It’s all in the irony of trauma — a fine line between the resentment of wanting to hurt society back for raping you of a decent life, for not protecting you, and accepting what feels like alien feelings with softening to those others who seem freakish in our era of judgment, and digital damnation."

Furthermore, he added, "Like kids in Middle School: man, they can just be mean. For no reason. And, sometimes, those awful little clicky kids breed an evil in someone that rages much later, when everyone pretends we are all back to normal, when we all thought it had just manned up and gone away. We have a habit of hating and ostracizing and dividing and sweeping our problems under the rug. Joker, is simply lifting the rug and looking underneath it. Nothing more. Nothing less. It’s there."

And as the controversy surrounding the film refuses to die down, it has been hit with another setback. 
 
A movie theater in Huntington Beach, California, cancelled the screenings of&nbsp; 'Joker'&nbsp;on Thursday night after a 'credible'&nbsp;threat was reported to the police, the Huntington Beach Police Department said on Friday, reported Variety. 
 
The final two screenings of the movie at the Century Huntington Beach and XD theater in the Bella Terra shopping centre were cancelled after officers were sent to the scene. The showings resumed on Friday. 
 
The Huntington Beach Police Department said in a statement that it had received information about a threat to the Century Theater in response to the opening of the DC film. 
 
"The police department deemed the threat was credible enough to provide a uniformed presence at the theater," the statement said. 
 
"As the investigation continued, our officers worked with the managers of the theater, who determined they would cancel the final two showings of the movie and close the theater out of an abundance of caution. Based on the investigation, and in working with theater management, it was determined that the theater could safely reopen and resume normal operation," the statement added. 
 
The police did not reveal any details about the nature of the threat. Although the screenings resumed, the police said that "The Huntington Beach Police Department will provide patrols at Century Theater for the rest of this weekend" . 
 
"We are working in conjunction with the theater's management as well as mall security to provide a safe environment for the public. This incident is currently under investigation, and no further details will be provided," the police added.

The actor revealed that he developed a `disorder` and became `obsessed` with his new weight, reported E! News. 
 
Phoenix opened up about how shedding the weight took a toll on him, revealing that it became a "disorder" for him. 
 
"Once you reach the target weight, everything changes. Like so much of what`s difficult is waking up every day and being obsessed over like 0.3 pounds. Right? And you really develop like a disorder," the Oscar nominee said. 
 
But in light of the physical and mental challenges of losing so much weight, Phoenix said that it was necessary for him to have a delicate frame as it helped carry out the iconic comic book villain`s movements and mannerisms."But I think the interesting thing for me is what I had expected and anticipated with the weight loss was these feelings of dissatisfaction, hunger, a certain kind of vulnerability and a weakness," Phoenix said. 
 
"But what I didn`t anticipate was this feeling of kind of fluidity that I felt physically. I felt like I could move my body in ways that I hadn`t been able to before.
