<p>The other efforts measured 84.37m, 87.46m, 84.77m, 86.67 and 86.84m. Neeraj was leading till the third round, but Peters pulled off the best throw of the tournament in the fourth round.</p>

<p>Before this tournament, Neeraj’s best finish in a Diamond League meet came in Zurich 2018 when he finished fourth with 85.73m. Till then, he has taken part in the tournament seven times, but this was the first ever time that he finished in the Top 3 after coming close in Doha 2018 as well.</p>

<p>The next target for Neeraj will be the World Championships in Eugene, USA, next month where he will be looking to finally complete his dream of throwing beyond 90m.</p>

<p>"Going forward I am looking to work on my technique, throw, and overall performance. I am in a happy place at the moment, and I just want to do well in the upcoming events," Neeraj said.</p>

<p>India para javelin thrower Sumit Antil has credited Olympic gold medallist Neeraj Chopra for his achievements in the ongoing Tokyo Paralympics.</p>

<p>Speaking on the sidelines of Sports Minister Anurag Thakur felicitating the athletes on Friday, Sumit very comprehensively won gold in the men's javelin throw (Sport Class F64).</p>

<p>Sumit dominated the show from the word go as he bettered the World Record three times in the final. He threw a monstrous throw of 68.55m in his fifth attempt to climb on the top of the podium.</p>

<p>"Neeraj Chopra's medal pressurized me to grab a medal in Olympic but he always motivated me by saying you are too strong and fit. Neeraj has played the biggest role in my achievement," Sumit told ANI.</p>

<p>"I don't react to negative comments and none of my near ones taunt me on my disability. Javelin has now taken a boost in the country and after my medal now 50 students have approached my coach for training. I feel like a star now," he added.</p>

<p>Yogesh said he was demotivated because of his disability as his schoolmates used to bully him but now the same people are trying to talk to him. "My journey has been a bit difficult. My seniors in college suggested that I should try in Paralympics as I was demotivated due to my disability," he said.</p>

<p>"People used to make fun of my disability and students bullied me in school but now those people want to talk to me. They are messaging me continuously. My parents are also excited because none from my family have reached the level where I reached," he added.</p>

<p>Sharad Kumar won bronze in the men`s high jump final on Tuesday revealed he had injured his leg before the match. "I am doing high jump since the age of 12. I started high jump after watching my brother because he was so popular in school and he had lots of medals," said Sharad.</p>

<p>"My leg was paining badly before my medal match as I had injured my leg badly. I spoke to my parents and my family and I cried a lot. Then I started reading Bhagwat Geeta to regain focus," he pointed.&nbsp;</p>

<p>On Monday (August 30), the Indian contingent has been on fire in the Tokyo Paralympics. While Sunday (August 29) brought in as many as three medals for Team India in the Paralympics, Monday morning bettered India's tally as four more medals were added.</p>

<p>Avani Lekhara, Yogesh Kathuniya, Devendra Jhajariya and Sundar Singh Gurjar added to India's tally with their respective historic performances. While 19-year-old Avani won gold in shooting, Yogesh earned silver in discus throw whereas javelin stars Devendra and Sundar Gurjar ended at the second and third spot, respectively, in the men's throw final.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The 40-year-old Devendra Jhajharia lived upto expectations and&nbsp;assured himself of yet another medal, i.e. silver, in the men's javelin throw - F46 final event with his best throw of 64.35. <p>Commonwealth and Asian Games champion javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra has undergone surgery on the elbow of his throwing arm and faces a race against time to be fully fit before the World Championships in Doha at the end of September.</p>

<p>The 21-year-old Indian has not competed since picking up the injury to his right elbow late last year and was working extensively on his core strengthening and flexibility with an eye on the World Championships.</p>

<p>The former world junior champion underwent an arthroscopy procedure to remove bone fragments which were causing him discomfort on Thursday and was released from the Mumbai hospital on Friday.</p>

<p>"Undergone elbow surgery in Mumbai by Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala," Chopra said in a social media post, accompanied by a picture of him lying on a hospital bed with his right arm in an elbow brace.</p>

<p>"Will require some months of rehabilitation before I can start back with throwing. Hoping to return stronger.</p>

<p>"Every setback is a setup for a comeback. God wants to bring you out better than you were before."</p>

<p>Last year, Chopra became only the third man to win an athletics gold for India at the Commonwealth Games after sprinter Milkha Singh in 1958 and discus thrower Vikas Gowda in 2014.</p>

<p>A throw of 86.47 metres was enough to take the title on the Gold Coast and he followed that up with 87.43 metres at the Diamond League leg in Doha in May.</p>

<p>At the Asiad in Jakarta he threw even further, clearing a season's best distance of 88.06 metres for the title -- placing him sixth on the IAAF top list for 2018.</p>

<p>Hailing from the Northern Indian state of Haryana, which is better known for producing wrestlers and kabaddi players, Chopra is currently ranked fifth in the IAAF world rankings in javelin.</p>

<p>He was targeting a throw of 92 metres and finish in the top six at the World Championships in Doha.</p>

<p>"Neeraj went through consultations with doctors in India and his scans were sent to multiple international experts as well, who all suggested that the elbow arthroscopy would be the best alternative," said Manisha Malhotra, Head of Sports Excellence at JSW Sports, the organisation which manages the athlete.</p>

<p>"After considering all options and feedback, Neeraj decided to stay in India and undergo the procedure."</p>
