US 'disagrees' with Brazil's Holocaust remarks for Israel, Blinken tells Lula

<p>At least one person was killed and eight others were injured in a terror attack in the West Bank on Thursday (Feb 22) after three gunmen opened fire on several vehicles near a Jewish settlement, according to <em>Times of Israel</em>.</p>

<p>Magen David Adom (MDA) director Elo Bin informed that the victims include three seriously wounded and two moderately hurt. The victims were waiting near az-Za’ayyem checkpoint between&nbsp;Jerusalem and Ma’ale Adumim when the gunmen carried out the attack.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"The three terrorists got out of their vehicle and started shooting from automatic weapons at vehicles that were standing in a traffic jam on the road towards Jerusalem," the force said in a statement.</p>

<p>The security forces immediately responded to the attack and neutralised two gunmen while the third fled the scene, albeit briefly. Following police searches in the area, the third gunman was also found and promptly shot, the Israeli Police added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Assault rifles, makeshift submachine guns and a grenade were&nbsp;discovered from the gunmen who have been identified as residents of the Bethlehem area, per the police.</p>

US urges UN court to consider Israel’s ‘security needs,’ not order Israel out of West Bank and Gaza

<p>Yemen's Iran-aligned Houthi militia claimed on Tuesday (Feb 20) that they targeted an Israeli cargo ship, the "MSC Silver" with a number of missiles. The attack was said to be in the Gulf of Aden which is adjacent to the Red Sea, but Houthi military spokesman Yahya Sarea did not elaborate.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As reported by the news agency Reuters, the group said in a statement that it had also used drones to target a number of US warships.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As per the statement, the US vessels were attacked in the Red Sea and Arabian Sea as well as sites in the southern Israeli resort town of Eilat.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In another sources-based report, Reuters said that the&nbsp;Greek-flagged bulker Sea Champion arrived in the southern Yemeni port of Aden on Tuesday after being attacked in the Red Sea.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As per the unidentified sources, it appeared to have been a mistaken missile strike by the Houthi militia.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The World Food Programme's (WFP) "live-saving" food deliveries to northern Gaza have been paused as the agency claimed that aid convoys had had to go through "complete chaos and violence due to the collapse of civil order" while making those deliveries.</p>

<p>The Israeli military had given orders for the evacuation of 1.1 million Palestinian civilians from all areas north of Wadi Gaza and asked them to find shelter in the south at the start when the ground offensive of Israel started in October.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A joint report issued by the WFP and the UN's children's agency UNICEF on Monday found that the the situation was "particularly extreme" in the north of Gaza.</p>

<p>Nutrition screenings conducted at shelters and health centres in the north found that more than 15% of children under two years of age were "acutely malnourished", the WFP said.</p>

<p>Israel captured the West Bank, Gaza and East Jerusalem in a war in 1967 and has since built settlements in the West Bank and steadily expanded them. But the Palestinians want both regions for a state.&nbsp;</p>
