<p>When I first learned about the Harry Potter television series, I was very enthusiastic and felt content that this was finally happening. I’ll bet many other Potterheads also felt the same. Max's (previously HBO Max) move to create a long-running television show based on the Harry Potter books is something I have wanted for a long time. Earlier there were only movies being made and a two-and-a-half-hour movie can barely scratch the surface of a 500-page, detail-rich book.&nbsp;<br />

My journey with Harry Potter began in the early 2000s when I was not even ten. <em>Harry Potter &amp; the Sorcerer’s Stone </em>was playing on Pogo TV for the first time, and from 7 pm to 10 pm on a Saturday, I sat glued to the television set.<br />

Now, I have a tattoo of the <em>Deathly Hallows</em>.&nbsp;<br />

For the uninitiated, here is a simple breakdown of Harry Potter without any spoilers. It is the story of a boy whose parents were killed by the villain, Lord Voldemort, when Harry was a toddler. But, it’s time to accept the bitter truth now, especially since the Harry Potter TV series presents the potential for redemption.</p>

<p>The movies were only a brilliant way to rake in millions of dollars for Warner Bros. They weren’t a true testament to the books. It wouldn’t even be an understatement to say that Warner Bros cared more about the money than how ardent Potterheads would feel while watching the books they love getting ripped apart on the big screen.&nbsp;<br />

However, in Warner Bros. defence, three hours is barely enough to capture the magic and the detail-rich nature of a Harry Potter book. And, there is another point I want to make here. When the movies were made, nobody knew how the story would play out in the final few books.&nbsp;<br />

That's not the case now.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The best part is that the entire storyline is now in the open. Now that Max has the complete source material, the producers could exercise creative liberty to start the series at any point.&nbsp;Starting at Gordic's hollow, where the chain of events was put into motion by Voldemort himself, would be fitting and apt.&nbsp;<br />

<p>It could dive deep into the minute details of the wizarding world and its characters. It would ensure that many characters who missed out on making it to the big screen get their due-like Peeves the Poltergeist.&nbsp;<br />

Max is ready to invest billions of dollars and a decade into developing a Harry Potter TV show. It only shows that the Harry Potter fandom is alive and excited. It means that although the entire story is out, Max still believes Harry Potter is worthy of being made into a television show.&nbsp;<br />

However, Max must still figure out how they will woo the younger generation. It has to get the current generation of kids obsessed with the show, and then it will be a true success.<br />

They must figure out how to get children born circa 2015 excited about the TV show. They can't only bank on the hopes that parents, who were young adults when the books came out, will pass on the craze and get their kids hooked.<br />
<br />
Harry Potter is a turn-of-the-century series. In an age of decreasing attention span, keeping teenagers interested in a TV series that could run for a decade is a challenging task. &nbsp;<br />

And, of course, there are no new plot twists, but that doesn't mean this won't be a successful show. It's all about the execution and giving old-age Harry Potter fans what they have wanted for nearly three decades—a long-running TV show which remains faithful to the original books and brings it into the modern era.<br />

<p>If reports are true, fans of the <em>Harry Potter</em> franchise may get their much-anticipated big-screen adaptation of <em>Harry Potter</em> and the Cursed Child soon. UK tabloid The Sun cites sources as saying that Warner Bros, the studio in charge of the Wizarding World franchise, may be mulling over adapting the two-part play which is a sequel to the main story. “Warner Bros are currently looking at how to bring The Cursed Child to the big screen. It has been in their sights since the play proved to be so popular in the West End. It went onto the backburner for a while because there was so much work going on with the Fantastic Beasts franchise."</p>

<p>There have been three Fantastic Beasts movies thus far, and the series, unlike the <em>Harry Potter</em> movies, has been a case of diminishing returns. The last film, called Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, grossed $407 million on a budget of $200 million. This may sound decent, until you consider marketing and promotional costs, and the share of theatre chains around the world.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Revealing that the whole experience was “suffocating”, Rupert Grint said, “Potter was so full on — [filming] all year, then we’d promote the rest of the time. It was quite suffocating.”</p>

<p>By the time the whole Harry Potter saga ended, Rupert “wanted a break, to reflect on everything… It was an out-of-body experience for a while, but I think we finished at the right time. If we continued, it could’ve gone downhill.”</p>

<p>The actor also reflected on the similarities that he has with his character from the film. At the time of his casting, Rupert Grint said that he “was feeling the difficulty of being seen, being overshadowed. In the movies, we merged into one. By the end of it, I was playing myself. The lines were blurred.”</p>

<p>It's been nearly three years since JK Rowling first sparked controversy over her homophobic comments on Twitter but Rowling continues to get flack from readers of 'Harry Potter' series which she famously wrote.&nbsp;<br />

A 23-year-old trans artist in Toronto Canada has been working hard to painstakingly&nbsp;remove Rowling's name from used 'Harry Potter' books. The individual is not only removing the author's name from the book covers with self-created custom covers but also attempting to remove her name from the copyright pages and title pages as well.&nbsp;<br />

So far the artist has completed at least 30 new 'rebound books'. They are up for sale in their newly bound form.&nbsp;<br />

The artist, Laur Flom, runs a website based out of Canada and started making the changes to 'help out' any 'Harry Potter' fans who may find it difficult to read the books while seeing Rowling's name on it.&nbsp;<br />

Flom started working on the project a year ago and mentioned to a news website that his motivation was Rowling facing backlash over her comments which many deemed as transphobic.&nbsp;<br />

Laur Flom told SWNS, "The project is spurred by her transphobia … I was [a fan]. Growing up when I did, it was a given that you would read ‘Harry Potter.’"<br />

Flom added, however, that "after J.K Rowling's views on people like me came out, it left a bad taste in my mouth. It raised questions about the ethics of consuming her work."<br />

Flom claims that the idea of removing her name came to provide a "safe space for fans to find comfort in the book and critically engage with JK Rowling's work."<br />

Flom, who also works as a bartender- seeks more second-hand copies of the 'Harry Potter' book in order to "recreate" them.<br />

Once Flom gets a book, he first replaces the cover with his own recreated version. Each book, reportedly, takes around 12 hours to re-bind- not including the time it takes for him to package the books and send them off to buyers.&nbsp;<br />

Flom reportedly sells each newly bound book for about $170. For a set of seven, he charges roughly $1,200. &nbsp;<br />

A portion of each sale is donated to charities working with the trans community.&nbsp;<br />

Flom says, "My practice is largely conceptual, exploring themes surrounding identity, memory and trans masculinity. I also occasionally rebind Harry Potter books."<br />

Interestingly, the set of Harry Potter themes coins will not just feature Harry's face but also have portraits of Queen Elizabeth II and recently proclaimed King Charles III. There will also be coins featuring Albus Dumbledore, the headmaster of Hogwarts, &nbsp;the Hogwarts School and the Hogwarts Express.&nbsp;<br />

According to the Royal Mint website, the coins have been created using special lasers in order to keep the design as accurate as possible. Harry Potter coin introduced to mark 25 years of 'The Philosopher's Stone'

<p>Tokyo is all set to get its own Platform Nine and Three- Quarters. Japan is planning to open its very own Harry Potter theme park known as Warner Bros Studio Tour- The Making of Harry Potter. And while the studio tour will open in 2023, two nearby railway stations will also undergo changes in accordance to the theme of the film. The stations, according to reports, will serve as a getaway to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The studio tour will be located at Toshimaen and so naturally, Toshimaen Station undergoing Potter transformation. A new two-storey&nbsp;structure will be built within the station which will have a dark red train platform reminiscent of Hogsmeade train station, where the Hogwarts Express ends its journey and where each year, young wizards arrive to get enrolled in Hogwarts.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Not just Toshimaen, but Ikebukuro Station too will undergo a similar transformation. The station is frequently used to get to Toshimaen. Reports state that platforms one and two- which connect to trains servicing Toshimaen- will be modeled on London’s King’s Cross train station, where Hogwarts pupils get an entry to the famous platforms 9 and 3/4.&nbsp;<br />

Needless to say, the station will sport brown brick facades and analog clocks to look like an extension of the Potter universe.&nbsp;<br />

Tokyo is all set to get its own Platform Nine and Three- Quarters. Japan is planning to open its very own Harry Potter theme park known as Warner Bros Studio Tour- The Making of Harry Potter. And while the studio tour will open in 2023, two nearby railway stations will also undergo changes in accordance to the theme of the film. The stations, according to reports, will serve as a getaway to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The studio tour will be located at Toshimaen and so naturally, Toshimaen Station undergoing Potter transformation. A new two-storey structure will be built within the station which will have a dark red train platform reminiscent of Hogsmeade train station, where the Hogwarts Express ends its journey and where each year, young wizards arrive to get enrolled in Hogwarts. Not just Toshimaen, but Ikebukuro Station too will undergo a similar transformation. The station is frequently used to get to Toshimaen. Reports state that platforms one and two- which connect to trains servicing Toshimaen- will be modeled on London’s King’s Cross train station, where Hogwarts pupils get an entry to the famous platforms 9 and 3/4. Needless to say, the station will sport brown brick facades and analog clocks to look like an extension of the Potter universe. Renovations will begin sometime in the summer this year and are set to be completed by the spring of 2023.
