Following Azerbaijan's recent attack on Nagorno-Karabakh, Armenia's government reported that approximately 23 per cent of the region's population, roughly 28,000 people, sought refuge in Armenia. This mass displacement occurred swiftly after Azerbaijan lifted a 10-month blockade on the sole road connecting Nagorno-Karabakh to Armenia, which had led to severe shortages of essential supplies, including food, medicine, and fuel. Despite Azerbaijan's commitment to respecting the rights of Armenians, many residents remained apprehensive about potential repercussions.

Morning brief: Jaishankar slams extremism amid Nijjar killing row, Kushal Malla stars for Nepal in Cricket

More than a week has passed since Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made an explosive and unsubstantiated claim about the so-called Indian government agents’ involvement in the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar.

The Canadian law enforcement officials—who have been on the case since June when Nijjar was murdered outside a Sikh temple in Surrey—too have not been able to provide a shred of evidence that potentially links the Indian government to Nijjar's&nbsp;killing, which was initially attributed to a gang war.

A report by the Washington Post claiming that there was a delay in the investigation of Nijjar’s death and that the police’s response initially was slow had received a prompt reply from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).

While the RCMP gave a detailed riposte to the Post’s report to justify how it was quick on the murder scene, WION’s questions were met with deafening silence when asked about the progress of the probe.

The Canadian police have denied a Washington Post report that they arrived late at the scene of the murder of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Surrey.

The US-based newspaper in its report on Sept 25 stated that the “police were slow to the scene, and disagreement between agencies caused further delay”.

“There was an hours-long tussle between Surrey police and the RCMP. They couldn’t decide who would head the investigation, so there was a delay,” The Washington Post quoted a gurdwara volunteer, identified as Bhupinderjit Singh, as saying.

The Post further claimed, citing one of those present on the scene, that the RCMP and members of the Surrey Police Service had an “hours-long tussle” over who would take the lead in the investigation.

Responding to the report, the Surrey RCMP spokesperson Corporal Vanessa Munn flatly denied the claims.

“It was suggested that there was a conflict regarding which police agency would ‘head the investigation,'” said Munn.

<h2>'No delay in response'&nbsp;</h2>

“However, as the police of jurisdiction, Surrey RCMP is responsible for all police investigations in Surrey. There is nothing to indicate this investigation was delayed in any way, either in the initial response or in subsequent investigative steps.”

The officer further said that the case&nbsp;was ultimately handed over to the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT), “with the continued support of Surrey RCMP.”

“IHIT takes lead on all homicide investigations in the Lower Mainland with the exception of Delta and Vancouver. We are confident all necessary investigational steps are being taken to hold those responsible for the homicide accountable,” the Surrey RCMP said.

<h2>Nijjar's killing well-organised&nbsp;</h2>

The Washington Post report carried further details as to how Nijjar’s killing was well-organised.

Citing a number of Khalistani separatists, including Moninder Singh, one of the founders of the Sikh Liberation Front (SLF), the report claimed that Nijjar's car was bugged with a tracker and that he was purportedly a target.

It also quotes the&nbsp;Sikh community members as telling&nbsp;the investigators that the assailants fired about 50 bullets on Nijjar, of which 34 hit the Khalistani terrorist.&nbsp;

Nijjar’s killing was captured by a security camera at Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara in Canada's Surrey.

A 90-second recording of the video begins with Nijjar’s grey pickup truck pulling out of a parking space, Washington Post reported.

A white sedan appears in an adjacent lot, pulls up and drives parallel to the truck, the report adds.

Hardeep Singh Nijjar entered Canada in the late 1990s on a fake passport and produced false asylum claims based on fake marriages. He became a Canadian citizen in May 2007. In November 2014, an Interpol Red Corner Notice cited over a dozen criminal cases of murder and other terrorist activities against Nijjar in India.&nbsp;

Canadian enforcement officials deny report over delay in Nijjar death probe

Weighing in on the row with Canada over the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, India’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar pointed out the issue of organised crime in Canada that has been on the rise over the years, particularly linked to secessionist forces, violence, and extremism.

India has been blaming the Canadian government for its soft-handed approach towards pro-Khalistan elements and passing off anti-India activities on its soil as an act of freedom of expression.

The whole situation particularly worsened after reports emerged that one of the members of the Five Eyes shared intelligence inputs with Canada over the alleged role of Indian government agents in the killing of Nijjar.

The Diplomatic row that started with Canada alleging India's role in the murder of a Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar shows no signs of easing. The Canadian Prime Minister made the accusations against India publicly but Six Days on Canada has yet to provide any evidence to back those claims resulting in strained ties between the two countries. The killing of terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a leader in a widely denounced separatist cause of Khalistan, has now emerged as a "larger and more organised" operation than previously known, according to footage from the site of the killing reported by the Washington Post.

The report cites a number of Khalistani separatists, including Moninder Singh, one of the founders of the Sikh Liberation Front (SLF), who claimed that Nijjar's car was bugged with a tracker and that he was purportedly a target. It also quotes the&nbsp;Sikh community members as telling&nbsp;the investigators that the assailants fired about 50 bullets on Nijjar, of which 34 hit the Khalistani terrorist.&nbsp;

Hardeep Singh Nijjar entered Canada in the late 1990s on a fake passport and produced false asylum claims based on fake marriages. He became a Canadian citizen in May 2007. In November 2014, an Interpol Red Corner Notice cited over a dozen criminal cases of murder and other terrorist activities against Nijjar in India.&nbsp;

Despite details of the cases being shared with the Canadian authorities, no action was taken. Instead, the Canadian government only put Nijjar on a no-fly list.

<h2>How was Hardeep Singh Nijjar killed?&nbsp;Latest report</h2>

Nijjar’s killing was captured by a security camera at Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara in Canada's Surrey.

A 90-second recording of the video begins with Nijjar’s grey pickup truck pulling out of a parking space, Washington Post reported.

A white sedan appears in an adjacent lot, pulls up and drives parallel to the truck, the report adds.

It further says that when the truck speeds up, the sedan matches its pace. Then the truck merges into the sedan’s lane and for a moment they’re side-by-side. As the vehicles approach the parking lot exit, the sedan pulls in front and brakes to block the truck.

"Two men in hooded sweatshirts emerge from under a covered waiting area and move toward the truck. Each points a firearm at the driver’s seat. The sedan exits the parking lot and drives out of view. Then the two men run in the same direction," the Washington Post report says, following which the paper cites witness accounts of what are deemed to be gunshots.

Terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar was hit with 34 bullets fired by men in 'Sikh getup': Report

The International Criminal Police Organization, commonly known as Interpol, on Monday issued a Red Corner Notice against Karanvir Singh, a member of the banned terrorist group Babbar Khalsa International. Meanwhile, there's a big crackdown on Khalistani terrorists in India more than 264 raids were conducted in the state of Punjab, India.

The statement&nbsp;led to expulsion of diplomats from the two capitals, with New Delhi upping the ante by enforcing the ceasing of visa services to all Canadian citizens.&nbsp;

The Capitals: For New Delhi, a silver-lining in Ottawa's assassination accusation

Amidst escalating diplomatic tensions between India and Canada regarding Ottawa's accusations on Hardeep Singh Nijjar killing case, a former Pentagon official has severely criticised Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for making unfounded allegations against New Delhi.

Reacting to Canada's accusations against India, former Pentagon official and a senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, Michael Rubin, stated that Canada lacks sufficient evidence to support its claims.

He suggested that Trudeau might have made hasty allegations without substantial proof and urged him to clarify why his government was providing shelter to a "terrorist with a criminal record." Rubin went on to say that most probably Justin Trudeau won't be there for long in premiership, and the US can get rebuild its relationship with Canada after he's gone.

"Prime Minister Trudeau I think has made a huge mistake. He has made allegations in a manner which he hasn't been able to back. Either he was shooting from the hip and he doesn't have the evidence to support the accusations he made against the government. There is something there, in which case he needs to explain why this government was sheltering a terrorist," the former Pentagon official said.

"I suspect that the United States doesn't want to be pinned in the corner to choose between two friends, but if we have to choose between two friends, increasingly we're going to choose India on this matter simply because Nijjar was a terrorist and India is too important. Our relationship is too important. Justin Trudeau probably isn't long for the Canadian premiership, and then we can get rebuild the relationship after he's gone,"&nbsp;Michael Rubin said while speaking to news agency ANI.

The former Pentagon official emphasised that it's unwise to sacrifice long-term relations with the world's largest democracy for short-term political gains, suggesting that Trudeau's actions were shortsighted and driven by political considerations.

Meanwhile, the leader of the Canadian Opposition, Pierre Poilievre, expressed concerns about an increase in hate crimes against Hindus in Canada. He highlighted recent incidents of hateful comments and emphasised that every Canadian should be able to live without fear and feel welcomed in their community.

“We need to have the evidence that drew that allowed the prime minister to come to the conclusions he made,” he said.

“I would have to have more evidence to make a judgment on that. I do find it interesting that he knew about vast foreign interference by Beijing for many years, at the same time as Beijing had kept two Canadian citizens hostage. And he said nothing. And he did nothing. Just very interesting that that was the approach he took in that case,” Poilievre&nbsp;added.

<h2>India-Canada relations strained</h2>

The relationship between India and Canada soured following Trudeau's statement on Monday, in which he claimed to be actively pursuing credible allegations linking Indian government agents to Nijjar's murder.

India, however, dismissed these accusations as baseless and driven by ulterior motives, asserting that they were an attempt to divert attention away from the issue of sheltering Khalistani terrorists and extremists in Canada.

The explosive charges made by the Canadian Prime Minister against India ignited a bilateral dispute between the two nations, resulting in retaliatory actions such as the expulsion of diplomats. India has consistently maintained that Canada has not provided any specific information to substantiate its claims.

India&nbsp;has suspended visa services for Canadians while warning its citizens to “exercise extreme caution” when traveling to&nbsp;Canada due to “politically-condoned” hate crimes and violence.

India has also asked Canada to downsize its diplomatic presence in the country saying&nbsp;the size of Canadian diplomatic staff in India is larger than what New Delhi has in Canada and that there should be a parity in strength and rank equivalence in the mutual presence.

This latest diplomatic rift between India and Canada is unfolding against a backdrop of underlying tensions stemming from the growing activities of pro-Khalistan elements in Canada. ‘Justin Trudeau made a huge mistake’: Ex-Pentagon official condemns Canada’s accusations against India

As tensions continue to brew between India and Canada over the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, Indian authorities have prepared a detailed dossier with the Khalistani terrorist's links to militant organisations.

In Pics | Indian intelligence dossier outlines Nijjar’s chronology of terror and violence

Amid rising tensions with Canada over the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, Indian authorities have prepared a detailed dossier encompassing his links to militant organisations and involvement in criminal activities in India and Canada.

The dossier also revealed that Nijjar fled to Canada and gained citizenship based on a forged passport. Following that, he started running a terror ecosystem on Canadian soil, while being in close touch with other terrorists based out of Pakistan.

<h2>Detailed timeline of Nijjar’s past</h2>

According to the dossier prepared by Indian agencies, Nijjar was a close associate of Khalistan Commando Force (KCF) militant Gurdeep Singh, who was “involved in more than 200 killings in Punjab during late 1980s and early 1990s.”

“Hardeep Singh Nijjar was a resident of village Bhar Singh Pura, Jalandhar, Punjab. Since his early days, he had connections with local goons. He was initiated to gangster life by Gurnek Singh Neka," the dossier says.

In 1996, when police in India started probing his links with Khalistani militant outfits and his involvement in criminal activities, he fled to Canada on a forged passport.

He used the fake passport under the alias Ravi Sharma, and applied for asylum in Canada by claiming that he feared persecution in India because of his ‘alleged’ links to Sikh militancy.

In 1997, Nijjar’s asylum plea was rejected by Canadian authorities as they found it fabricated.

Just days after his plea was rejected, he entered into a marriage agreement with a lady, who reportedly sponsored his immigration.&nbsp;

But the application was rejected again as the lady had also arrived in Canada the same year (1997), whose application was sponsored by a different husband.

“Nijjar was later granted Canadian citizenship the circumstances of which are not clear," Indian agencies have said.

Initially, he earned his living as a truck driver in Canada but in 2012, Nijjar visited Pakistan and met Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) chief Jagtar Singh Tara. BKI is a designated terrorist organisation in India and is believed to have close ties with Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI.&nbsp;

Jagtar Singh Tara reportedly imparted arms and IED training to Nijjar in Pakistan.

In 2013, Tara sent US-based Harjot Singh Birring to Canada to impart training to Nijjar in operating hand-held GPS devices. In return, Nijjar sent one million Pakistani rupees to Tara.

In 2014, Nijjar planned a terror attack on Dera Sacha Sauda Headquarters in the northern Indian state of Haryana. The plan was foiled as India denied entry to Nijjar.

In November 2014, Interpol published a Red Corner Notice (RCN) against Nijjar for masterminding more than a dozen cases of murder and terror.

“The details of cases were shared with Canadian authorities but no action was taken. Also, despite RCN, Canadian authorities did not take any action except putting him on a no-fly list," the dossier says.&nbsp;

Inaction from the Canadian authorities further encouraged Nijjar’s terror activities in India.

In 2014, Nijjar directed his module to target former top police official in Punjab Mohd Izhar Alam, and Punjab-based political leaders Nishant Sharma and Baba Mann Singh Ji Pehowa Wale.

In 2015, Nijjar and Tara planned a terror attack in Punjab and raised a gang in Canada which included Mandeep Singh Dhaliwal, Sarbjit Singh, Anupveer Singh and Darshan Singh Fauji. They were imparted arms training in British Columbia, Canada in December 2015," the Indian agency said.

The same year, Tara was deported to India, and Nijjar assumed the role of the chief of the Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF).

In April 2021, Nijjar again visited Pakistan as a part of “Baisakhi jatha" but used the visit to get training in arms and explosives for a fortnight.

“After returning to Canada, he started arranging funds for terror activities through his associates engaged in drugs and arms smuggling in Canada. Nijjar was also associated with Sikhs For Justice, a banned terrorist organisation, as the head of its Canada chapter,” the dossier says.&nbsp;

“He had also organised violent anti-India protests in Canada and threatened Indian diplomats. He had also given a call to ban Indian embassy officials from participating in various programmes organised by local gurdwaras in Canada," it adds.

The dossier also links Nijjar to the double murder of Manohar Lal Arora and Jatinderbir Singh Arora, a father-son duo, famous for their anti-Panthic activities in 2020.&nbsp;

“In the attack, Manohar Lal was shot dead at his residence in Bathinda on Nov 20, 2020 but his son escaped. Nijjar had sent money from Canada for their murder," says the dossier.

In 2021, Nijjar also tried to get a priest killed at his native village in Punjab, “but the priest survived," according to the dossier.

Indian officials also say that in a bid to escape the Red Corner Notice, Nijjar got involved in Gurudwara politics in Canada. In 2021, he became the president of Surrey Gurdwara by ousting his cousin Raghbir Singh Nijjar.

Amid rising tensions with Canada over the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, Indian authorities have prepared a detailed dossier encompassing his links to militant organisations and involvement in criminal activities in India and Canada.

Detailed timeline of Nijjar’s past According to the dossier prepared by Indian agencies, Nijjar was a close associate of Khalistan Commando Force (KCF) militant Gurdeep Singh, who was “involved in more than 200 killings in Punjab during late 1980s and early 1990s.” “Hardeep Singh Nijjar was a resident of village Bhar Singh Pura, Jalandhar, Punjab. Just days after his plea was rejected, he entered into a marriage agreement with a lady, who reportedly sponsored his immigration. But the application was rejected again as the lady had also arrived in Canada the same year (1997), whose application was sponsored by a different husband. “Nijjar was later granted Canadian citizenship the circumstances of which are not clear," Indian agencies have said. Initially, he earned his living as a truck driver in Canada but in 2012, Nijjar visited Pakistan and met Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) chief Jagtar Singh Tara. BKI is a designated terrorist organisation in India and is believed to have close ties with Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI. "This is our legacy!" A reminder of who cheered for extrajudicial executions, like that of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Does NOT mean Nijjar should have been murdered himself - but he also applauded the suicide bomber who killed a Chief Minister of Punjab (and 16 bystanders.) https://t.co/j9XeOVGvDh — Terry Milewski (@CBCTerry) September 22, 2023 × In November 2014, Interpol published a Red Corner Notice (RCN) against Nijjar for masterminding more than a dozen cases of murder and terror. “The details of cases were shared with Canadian authorities but no action was taken. Also, despite RCN, Canadian authorities did not take any action except putting him on a no-fly list," the dossier says. Watch: Is Canada spying on Indian diplomats? Canada-India Khalistan row × In 2015, Nijjar and Tara planned a terror attack in Punjab and raised a gang in Canada which included Mandeep Singh Dhaliwal, Sarbjit Singh, Anupveer Singh and Darshan Singh Fauji. “After returning to Canada, he started arranging funds for terror activities through his associates engaged in drugs and arms smuggling in Canada. Nijjar was also associated with Sikhs For Justice, a banned terrorist organisation, as the head of its Canada chapter,” the dossier says. “He had also organised violent anti-India protests in Canada and threatened Indian diplomats. He had also given a call to ban Indian embassy officials from participating in various programmes organised by local gurdwaras in Canada," it adds. Also read: What is Khalistan separatist movement, how did the ideology travel from India to Canada? The dossier also links Nijjar to the double murder of Manohar Lal Arora and Jatinderbir Singh Arora, a father-son duo, famous for their anti-Panthic activities in 2020. WATCH WION LIVE HERE ×

Stirring the controversy cauldron yet again, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Friday claimed that his government had shared evidence regarding the killing of separatist leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar with India weeks ago.&nbsp;

Trudeau made the remark while addressing the reporters as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky visited him for an impromptu meeting.&nbsp;

"In regards to India, Canada has shared the credible allegations that I talked about on Monday (September 18) with India. We did that many weeks ago," said Trudeau.

"We are there to work constructively with India, and we hope that they engage with us so that we can get to the bottom of this very serious matter," he added.&nbsp;

Trudeau's statement comes a day after Canadian media claimed that Ottawa had&nbsp;amassed both human and signals intelligence in a months-long investigation into the Sikh separatist leader's murder.&nbsp;

Canada shared intelligence on Nijjar's killing with India weeks ago, says Trudeau

US National Security Advisor&nbsp;Jake Sullivan has said that the Biden administration is in touch with Indian officials following&nbsp;unsubstantiated claims by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau that "Indian government agents" were involved in the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in British Columbia.

His briefing came even as it was reported&nbsp;that visiting US President Joe Biden discussed the matter with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his trip to New Delhi earlier this month to attend the G20 Summit.

Briefing the reporters on Thursday (Sept 21), Sullivan said Washington believes in its principles, regardless of what country is affected, while responding to a question about whether the US is concerned over the allegations.

"It is a matter of concern for us. It is something we take seriously. It is something we will keep working on, and we will do that regardless of the country," Sullivan told reporters at the White House.

"There's not some special exemption you get for actions like this. Regardless of the country, we will stand up and defend our basic principles and we will also consult closely with allies like&nbsp;Canada&nbsp;as they pursue their law enforcement and diplomatic process."

<h2>Biden talked with Modi on Nijjar killing during G20</h2>

US President Joe Biden, among other leaders, expressed&nbsp;concerns to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi&nbsp;over Canada's claims that New Delhi was involved in the killing of separatist leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar, during the G20 Summit earlier this month,&nbsp;a Financial Times report has claimed.&nbsp;

Citing three people familiar with the discussions at the summit, the publication said several&nbsp;members of the Five Eyes - an intelligence-sharing alliance of US, the UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, raised the issue with PM Modi. The report added that Biden "felt it&nbsp;was important to raise the issue directly with his Indian counterpart".&nbsp;

"The leaders intervened at the G20 summit after Canada urged its allies to raise the case directly with Modi, said two people familiar with the situation, who added Ottawa asked them to mention the claims in private," the report claimed.&nbsp;

Up until the last update, neither did the White House confirm the veracity of the report, nor did New Delhi issue any statement that the matter was raised during the summit.&nbsp;

Experts say that even if Biden did raise the issue at G20, the fact that Washington has refrained from getting in on the controversy so far,&nbsp;suggests that Ottawa was&nbsp;left hanging.&nbsp;

Notably, a&nbsp;Washington Post report published earlier this week stated that&nbsp;Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had&nbsp;asked his closest allies, including the US, to publicly condemn the Sikh separatist's killing, but the requests were turned down. The report did not mention the G20 summit and whether it was the place where Washington was made aware of the allegations.&nbsp;

Interestingly, the G20 Summit in New Delhi was the place where Trudeau was extended a cold shoulder treatment by the Modi government. Owing to Trudeau's affinity towards the separatist movement brewing in Canada, the Modi government has maintained its distance from his liberal government for some years now.&nbsp;

Trudeau received&nbsp;meagre media coverage during the trip and only managed to hold a bilateral with his counterpart on the last day of the summit where he was given a dressing down. Afterwards, he remained stuck in the capital for 36 hours&nbsp;as his designated plane developed a technical fault.&nbsp;&nbsp;

"Canada is not trying to provoke India by suggesting its agents were linked to the murder of a Sikh separatist leader but Ottawa wants New Delhi to address the issue properly," he said on Tuesday (September 19). "The government of India needs to take this matter with the utmost seriousness. We are doing that, we are not looking to provoke or escalate," he added. We will be reviewing the situation on a regular basis..." he added. No details shared by Canada over Nijjar's killing: New Delhi Bagchi also said that no evidence had been provided by Canada over Nijjar's killing. From Canada becoming safe haven for terrorists to visa suspension: Here's what India said

The Indian government has launched a coordinated campaign to disprove the unsubstantiated claims made by Canadian Prime Justin Trudeau over the alleged involvement of ‘Indian government agents’ in the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar.

The Hindustan Times newspaper, quoting sources, reported that New Delhi officials have been setting up meetings with the foreign ministers and diplomats of its allies, pressuring Canada to provide evidence.

<h2>Calibrated response </h2>

On Wednesday, top Indian officials met with counterparts of its allies in the new parliament building, and briefed them about the situation.

Apart from that, New Delhi has told Ottawa that it will cooperate with its investigation, provided they first present solid evidence that points to the Indian government’s involvement.

The Indian government has also initiated an outreach policy with the allies in the West, including the US and Australia, to convince them that the Indian intelligence agencies were not responsible for the killing and that the charges are baseless and motivated by local political considerations.

The diplomatic stand-off between India and Canada plunged to a new low&nbsp;on Thursday (Sept 21) after Indian visa services were suspended for Canadians.

As India-Canada ties sour, New Delhi suspends visa services for Canadians

An Indian-origin gangster and Khalistani supporter Sukhdool Singh, also known as&nbsp;Sukha Duneke, has been shot dead in an inter-gang rivalry in Canada.

Singh of Davinder Bambiha gang from Moga district was killed in Winnipeg, Canada. He was part of a pro-Khalistani organisation and was helping extremists in facilitating anti-India activities in Canada, according to Indian authorities.

Many media reports are comparing his death to the killing of terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, who was also gunned down in a similar fashion in Surrey on June 18. Nijjar's death is currently at the heart of a diplomatic tussle between India and Canada, which accuses Indian government agents of being&nbsp;involved&nbsp;in the murder.

Notably, Singh was on the most wanted list of India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA).

<h2>Lawrence Bishnoi&nbsp;claims responsibility&nbsp;</h2>

The gang members of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi have claimed responsibility for the murder, citing revenge for the killings of&nbsp;gangsters Gurlal Brar and Vicky Middkhera.

The murders were planned by Sukhdool Singh even when he was staying abroad, the gang alleged. Describing Sukhdool Singh as a "drug addict", Lawrence Bishnoi's gang said that he destroyed the lives of many people and that he was ultimately "punished for his sins".

They further warned that their enemies would not survive in India or any other country for that matter.&nbsp;

Bishnoi is currently incarcerated in Ahmedabad on drug smuggling charges that are being investigated by the NIA. Bishnoi is also an accused in the murder case of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala.

According to sources, Sukha fled from India to Canada in 2017 using fake documents. There are more than 10 cases registered against him in Punjab.

Singh is among the 43 listed gangsters who have been involved in anti-India terrorism, according to the NIA. These gangsters left India on either Indian passports or through fake or forged travel documents or through the&nbsp;Nepal&nbsp;route in the past.

<h2>India-Canada diplomatic row&nbsp;</h2>

Leading the pack of countries giving shelter to these terrorists is Canada, which now accuses Indian government agents of killing Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF) terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar without providing any substantive proof.

Diplomatic tensions rose after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, on Monday (September 18), accused the Indian government of being involved in the fatal shooting of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, who was one of the prominent secessionist faces to operate&nbsp;from Canada.

The two countries subsequently expelled one senior diplomat each.

On Wednesday, India issued a travel advisory for its citizens in Canada, a day after Ottawa updated its own advisory for India. India's advisory warned of growing anti-India activity and "politically condoned hate crimes."

The advisory urged Indian citizens in Canada and those planning to travel there to exercise caution.

As per a senior Canadian government source, Canada worked "very closely" with the U.S. on Nijjar case. "We've been working with the U.S. very closely, including on the public disclosure yesterday," the source said. Watch this video for all details.

What's the role of US in Canada investigating India's possible link to Nijjar's killing?

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau wanted the Five Eyes alliance members to jointly announce the probe findings that allegedly point to ‘Indian government agents’ role in the death of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, reports Washington Post newspaper.

The Five Eyes (FVEY) is an intelligence alliance comprising Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

In the weeks leading up to the G20 Summit in New Delhi, backdoor discussions among the senior officials from the Five Eyes countries took place to discuss the alleged assassination of Nijjar, who obtained Canadian citizenship in 2015.

But some FVEY members, including the US, refused to join Trudeau in publicly condemning India, “underscoring the lengths the Biden administration has gone to avoid antagonising India and court the Asian power as a strategic counterweight to China”, the Post reported, quoting an anonymous Western diplomat.

No public mention was made before the summit, which was seen as an important event for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, according to The Washington Post.

US, other allies refused to join Canada in condemning India over Hardeep Singh Nijjar’s death: Report

Canada-based Punjabi singer and rapper Shubhneet Singh, popularly known by his stage name Shubh, is in the news for all the wrong reasons. The singer who rose to fame with hit songs like Elevated, OG and Cheques, has been facing criticism over his alleged support for Khalistan - an issue that has caused strains in relations between India and Canada in recent weeks. Owing to his social media posts, Shubh has seen many of his celebrity followers unfollowing him on Instagram in the past weeks. Shubh enjoys a considerable fanbase the world over.

Hailing from Punjab and now settled in Canada, Shubh burst onto the scene with his breakout debut single We Rollin&nbsp;in September 2021. His blend of catchy hip-hop and trap beats and fast lyrical flow gained massive popularity in no time and he belted out hit singles No Love, and Baller. He has over a million followers on Instagram and recently released another album Still Rollin, which featured the viral track Cheques.

On September 19, electronics brand boAt retracted its sponsorship of the upcoming India tour of Shubh. The brand's decision to withdraw its sponsorship comes at a time when India and Canada are embroiled in a diplomatic tussle over the death of Khalistan terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar and due to Shubh's controversial posts earlier this year.&nbsp;

In a statement shared on X, the company said, “At boAt, while our commitment to the incredible music community runs deep, we are first and foremost a true Indian brand. Therefore, when we became aware of the remarks made by artist Shubh earlier this year, we chose to withdraw our sponsorship of the tour.”

<h2>What is the controversy around Shubh?</h2>

The Canadian-Punjabi singer stirred controversy earlier this year in March when he shared a distorted map of India on his Instagram story, conspicuously omitting the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, and the Northeastern states.

He captioned the image as, "Pray for Punjab". The singer was slammed massively on social media for the post. The singer later deleted the map and replaced it with a message that read "Pray for Punjab" without any picture.

Shubh's post came amid&nbsp;a police crackdown on self-proclaimed Sikh preacher and ‘Waris Punjab De’ chief Amritpal Singh and his associates. He posted the image after the Punjab government suspended mobile internet services across the state.

Shubh was scheduled to perform in Mumbai, India from September 23-25. He was&nbsp;also scheduled to perform in cities such as New Delhi, Bengaluru and Hyderabad. On September 20, ticketing app BookMyShow announced that the singer's India tour had been cancelled.&nbsp;

In response to the singer's upcoming concert, the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), the youth wing of the BJP, removed posters promoting the event, stating that it won't allow the singer to perform as he is a Khalistani supporter. The group has been staging protests in Mumbai for the past few days demanding a ban on Shubh's India concert.&nbsp;

"There is no space for Khalistanis who are the enemy of integrity and unity of India. We won't let Canadian singer Shubh perform on the auspicious land of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Mumbai...If no proper action is taken then the organisers will have to face revolt," BJYM President Tajinder Singh Tiwana told news agency ANI.

BJYM has also written to the Mumbai police to register an FIR against Shubh “for waging war against the Government of India and posting anti-government posts”.&nbsp;

The memorandum submitted by BJYM to the Mumbai police stated that the intention of the singer was to show that Punjab is not a part of India and to propagate the Khalistani agenda.

“Shubh is openly a Khalistani supporter and if he is allowed to hold a concert here, he will be influencing a lot of youth in Mumbai and our country to support his agenda…He has evidently proven that he is a pro-Khalistani activist and openly supports their agenda and (he) is also influencing the youth of the country to do the same and wage a war against the Government of India by posting such absurd and derogatory posts about the Government of India,” the complaint read.

Since the controversy broke out, Shubh's celebrity followers like Virat Kohli, KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya have all unfollowed the singer on Instagram.

<h2>Controversy around Hardeep Singh Nijjar's death</h2>

The controversy around singer Shubh comes when India and Canada are in a diplomatic row over the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Relations between the two countries have already been sour and the killing has led to a dramatic new low.&nbsp;

Hardeep Singh Nijjar was killed on June 18 outside a Sikh cultural centre in Surrey, British Columbia. Canada PM Justin Trudeau cited "credible allegations of a potential link" between agents of the Indian government and the assassination of the Khalistani terrorist.

Trudeau's government has been actively collaborating and coordinating with Canada's international allies regarding the Nijjar case, culminating in the expulsion of the Indian diplomat.

India, meanwhile, rejected the Trudeau government's allegation, describing it as "absurd" and "motivated". In response, India expelled a senior Canadian diplomat and gave him 5 days to leave the country.

Hailing from Punjab and now settled in Canada, Shubh burst onto the scene with his breakout debut single We Rollin in September 2021. His blend of catchy hip-hop and trap beats and fast lyrical flow gained massive popularity in no time and he belted out hit singles No Love, and Baller. He has over a million followers on Instagram and recently released another album Still Rollin, which featured the viral track Cheques. On September 19, electronics brand boAt retracted its sponsorship of the upcoming India tour of Shubh. The brand's decision to withdraw its sponsorship comes at a time when India and Canada are embroiled in a diplomatic tussle over the death of Khalistan terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar and due to Shubh's controversial posts earlier this year. In a statement shared on X, the company said, “At boAt, while our commitment to the incredible music community runs deep, we are first and foremost a true Indian brand. Therefore, when we became aware of the remarks made by artist Shubh earlier this year, we chose to withdraw our sponsorship of the tour.” What is the controversy around Shubh? The Canadian-Punjabi singer stirred controversy earlier this year in March when he shared a distorted map of India on his Instagram story, conspicuously omitting the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, and the Northeastern states. He captioned the image as, "Pray for Punjab". The singer was slammed massively on social media for the post. The singer later deleted the map and replaced it with a message that read "Pray for Punjab" without any picture. Shubh's post came amid a police crackdown on self-proclaimed Sikh preacher and ‘Waris Punjab De’ chief Amritpal Singh and his associates. He posted the image after the Punjab government suspended mobile internet services across the state. Shubh was scheduled to perform in Mumbai, India from September 23-25. He was also scheduled to perform in cities such as New Delhi, Bengaluru and Hyderabad. On September 20, ticketing app BookMyShow announced that the singer's India tour had been cancelled.
